The first game was also pay to win. This one is less pay to win because you can get everything without making an additional purchase. The first game forced you to buy tons of DLC to get stuff.

The only game i would ever accept something like that would've been Patapon 3, and i doubt that cheating in Helldivers corrupts your savegames of people you're playing with and locks your equipment level for the rest of their lives, so there is absolutely no excuse for that shit being in there.
I find it funny when you go onto the Steam forums for the game and see threads of people boycotting the game for having rootkit anti-cheat and then you look at the games they have plenty of hours in that also utilize rootkit anti-cheats. Some people have legitimate concerns and disdain for any anti-cheat, but I think the vast majority don't even understand what they're scared of and just parrot what a YouTuber told them was bad.
