They made Bioshock Infinite after it
This. It is fascinating how they managed to dumb down the gameplay so much after 1 or 2.
The original intended version of Infinite looked very good though.
bioshock was never good
haha he looks like bomberman
haha he does nice
The story's garbage, like all Bioshock games. Gameplay was cool though.
Nothing, the world design, combat, story and art were exponentially improved. And Minerva's Den is the best Bioshock DLC.
People complaint back in the day due not having a """plot twist""". See Infinite and tell me if having a plot twist is the only thing a game needs to be good.
it was a totally unnecessary sequel. it did improve on the original in most aspects, though. and the multiplayer was fun
There is no such thing as an "unnecessary" sequel, games are made to have fun. if you had fun then it did its purpose.
Every game is unnecessary gay
>unnecessary sequel.
>it did improve...
sounds necessary to me
Nothing?
They forgot to add in lootboxes, a battle pass, an timed events as part of their new live service model?
Nothing. It's the best Bioshock game.
>Be me
>Play the game
>Sophia Lamb (woman) is the villain
>Delta (Male) is the saviour
>Delta has to save multiple women
>The only woman he can kill is a black woman
>The game gives you the option to destroy your step daughter's life
Bigoted game, problematic setting with a lot of racism, sexism and patriarchy apology. I'm glad Infinite added way more progressive values.
Nothing
Bioshock was shit from the start
Careful, I’ve been banned for calling Bioshock shit.
Unironically nothing
I genuinely wonder why this game wasn't ported to Wii, I'm shocked that they didn't try to take advantage of the Wii / Nunchuck setup and have one controller handle guns and the other handle plasmids.
>I genuinely wonder why this game wasn't ported to Wii
well you havent wondered very hard because the answer is the wii couldnt run it and "adult" oriented games didnt sell well on the wii, ever.
Nothing, best in the series. A emotional story is way better than just seething about Ayn Rand.
>everything feels like a massive retcon to the first game
>attempt at political commentary fell way flat compared to the first
>moral choices were meh
>didn't attempt to have a final boss at all, couldn't even do something like 2 or 3 Big Sisters, just a horde of easy to kill regular enemies
feels like a massive retcon to the first game
Not really. Now Burial at Sea on the other hand..
at political commentary fell way flat compared to the first
It was a bit bland because Sophia was not as charismatic as Ryan but it was cool to see an ideology that's diametrically opposed to Ryan's
choices were meh
Way better than Bioshock 1
>>didn't attempt to have a final boss at all
This is a legitimate complaint. Then again B1 had a final boss which was universally panned. Still, that last level is kino.
Sophia is not as charismatic, but she’s a hell of a lot better as a character. She has an actual goal unlike Ryan, actively takes part in the plot, and is not just a strawman for the writers politics.
Ryan takes part in the plot of his game too. Recall what happened to Julie Langford
Julllllllllllieeeee we made a business deal you and I, did we not? Money changed hands. Let me read to you from the agreement.
>Not really
Yes really. There is not a single fucking whisper of Lamb in the first game.
>there was secretly this bossy badass bitch who kept on publicly humiliating Ryan literally all the time and was on the brink of taking Rapture over
not a single word of this in the first game
>ideology diametrically opposed to Ryan's
The issue being the first game was a pure criticism of the ideology from front to back. Rapture ended up the way it did because it was literally 100% always destined to become a failed shithole because libertarians are subhuman retards and the ideology itself is poison. The way it comes off in the second game is some crazed cult group extremist using the wrong methods rather than the laser-focused approach the first game had.
>better than BS1
Fair
>no final boss
BS1's final boss isn't THAT bad, and again they could have at least thrown 2 or 3 Big Sisters at you considering how they're the hardest and scariest enemy.
>There is not a single fucking whisper of Lamb in the first game.
Usually I hate retcons but I didnt mind this one, maybe because I like the game. But they also didnt really change any established things from the first one, just added this character in the empty spots. And she was "disappeared" at the time so no reason anyone would talk about her.
>rather than the laser-focused approach
I enjoyed seeing a communist attempting to subvert and completely change Ryan's vision. And the father/daughter aspect was very nice too.
>BS1's final boss isn't THAT bad
I dont even think it's bad, I liked how he was actually using plasmids during the fight. It's just that the fight is too easy and repetitive.
I honestly enjoyed it way more than the first game.
Very underrated sountrack. Garry Schyman is a king.
Breaks the heart
Absolutely nothing, what a great game.
.
I enjoyed it. I don't know why everyone hated protecting the little sisters to get Adam. I also feel like the combat was way more fluid since you could use plasmids and weapons simultaneously.
Nothing. It's the best Bioshock game. Ken Levine can go suck a dick.
It's better than Infinite. LOL two weapon limit.
Nothing, it's fun
Do I need the DLCs for the optimal experience or is the base game enough to experience the game?
Base game is enough but Minerva's Den is a very good DLC and worthwhile.
Not much. It's a very good game and the multiplayer wqs well thought out, fun and interesting. Even the DLC was good.
Not much. It's easily the best Bioshock game and that's probably because Ken Levine had nothing to do with it
It isn't better than 1
1's gameplay is terrible throughout and once you get to Ryan's office the game basically ends and everything after that is a series of embarrassingly bad levels and the story violently suiciding
Absolute nonsense garbage post.
No it really was not better.
>Absolute nonsense garbage post.
What was incorrect about it? The game takes a noticeable decline in quality after Ryan's office and the entire story devolves into Fontaine ranting at you until you inevitably confront him.
I don't really see what's wrong with Fontaine's Offices, Suchong's apartment, the Little Sister nursery or the Big Daddy facilities. Hell, even the part where you have to escort a Little Sister is brief and not a big deal in the slightest. Maybe the story becomes a bit more basic, but there wasn't much to the story before the twist either, it was mostly Atlas telling you to go places and you getting roadblocked
I felt like the apartments were mostly just claustrophobic and a bit confusing, not as fun as the earlier levels
It's better than 1 in every way and Levine knows it. That's why it haunts him even after Infinite. He will never make a game better than Bioshock 2.
It is.
nothing? its better than the first and the only people who dont think so are people who never played ti and have just listened to shit get parroted on Ganker
literally better than the first in every way, and even makes harvesting/saving little sisters a genuine conflicted decision, since saving them is actually harder than harvesting them.
Nothing.
story is shit and forced, level design is poor. Minerva DLC is way better, true Bioshock essence
Bioshock 2 is the best game in the series. It fixed every issue I had with original gameplay wise. I think Andrew Ryan is better wriiten in 2 than in 1. Honestly the first Bioshock is deeply flawed, and 2 is the perfect sequel as it fixes so many things like being able to use plasmids and guns together and removing the shit hacking mini-game so you can hack everything with the dart gun
I was the best
Art direction is significantly worse and that was half of the first games appeal.
Why was the remaster such a downgrade in visuals? Was it punjabs at it again for the remaster?
Bioshock 2 original game didn't exactly look fantastic either
The remasters were clearly botched though watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzMlk8Fpwvk
You even have flags blowing as if there is wind in an underwater city ffs. And that shadow being cut off. Something went horribly wrong here.
Well what I'm saying is the remaster changes were less noticeable to me in 2. But I definitely noticed a lot of problems in the remaster with 1
Good god that webm is sickening. But yeah you are right that 2 isn't as disgusting as 1. Somehow they really botched 1 big time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoYZ3OVL9Rk
Because the people making it didn't give a fuck about the game, as always.
I played BioShock 2 as my first game on ps3 in 2011 ish and thought it was decent
Played 1 on PC in 2020ish and then Infinite this month and liked them, but preferred 1
Is 2 worth a replay? I haven't played the DLC
>thinking remasters are anything other than low effort cash grabs
why do you think they would have given a shit kek
oh god not burial at sea
>Is 2 worth a replay
sure, but wont feel the same
>I haven't played the DLC
Minerva's Den is good
2 is just 1 but with better gameplay and with e-bois cheering when you kill things
Nothing, it makes that garden gnome heeb Levine seethe so it's great
Nothing, B2 is the best Bioshock game.
just finished Minerva's Den for the first time
what a tweest
Ton of foreshadowing, saw it coming
Not sure why everyone jerks off Minerva's Den. The new plasmid was okay but the Ion beam was a crappy, unsatisfying weapon
not really
The story is forgettable and it never really feels like you are a big daddy. Other than that, it's better than 1 in every regard and is easily the best game in the series.
>it never really feels like you are a big daddy
Not for lack of trying
If you don't feel like a completely unstoppable juggernaut doing something like this
or wrecking shit with the drill, that's a (you) problem
no NG+
no survival difficulty
Didn't get to see Eleanor in the sundress we got for her
art direction within city walls is often uglier, on purpose to make a point about the city and the cast, but still not great to look at
Stanley and Alex drop out of the game immediately without comment instead of getting at least the Grace treatment
most minibosses only show up in one level and then fuck off until the finale so most fights are still just oneshotting a couple basic splicers
still the best game in the series as a complete package
minerva's den was the DLC and not the core story.
Made little sisters too sexy
