Overreliance on the same generic done to death tropes and trying to appeal to the most common denominator to whom a human with a skin condition is another race/species and peak of fantasy.
As well as laziness on the developers' part to try and make required adjustments to items and world in accordance to the quirks of the races.
This isn't really a fair comparison. Assuming this is mainly complaining that jrpg party members are all ears and tail tier given the complaining about an actual non-playable beast race, which would also apply to the western side since khajiit and argonians don't have digitigrade legs anymore going by that standard.
Just this year alone I can name 5 JRPGs with varied beast people designs that are beyond just having ears and tail with one being a AAA game. Meanwhile I can't name a single notable JRPG from this year or last year, aside from Xenoblade Chronicles 3, that has a kemonomimi tier design. Even Final Fantasy has a mix of both types of designs.
The Beastren from Dragon Dogma 2 (fur and feline details but flat faces or at best a snub snoot, elf ears, no tail)
The were creatures from Unicorn Overlord (fur, tail, ears, snoot and digitigrade legs)
Femhroths from Final Fantasy 14 (fur, tail, some have a snoot while others have flat faces, ears)
Cait Sith from ff7 rebirth (fur, tail, ears and snoot)
The catboy character from visions of mana (snoot, ears and tail)
All of them are varied and are more than having ears and tail.
People are boring. They basically want "All-rounder, High Magic, High Atk, High Def, 'the different race'" and that's it.
Even the "Whoops: All Beastmen!" series got watered down as time went on.
A deadening of the spirit. It happens to all civilizations, as they get old and weak and become irrelevant.

Tolkien good.
Those games don't resemble Tolkien's fantasy races.

>I can name 5 JRPGs with varied beast people designs
Please do.
Let me copy and paste the list I did.

Sexual degenerates took over.
>do the same generic races over and over
>its boring but everyone gets what they want
>do new unique custom races
>have to hear about how you need dwarves or generic elves
>some percent of players not happy
Its easier to play up to what people already like.
>Just do both at the same time
Why does this solution never come up?
>>Just do both at the same time
>Why does this solution never come up?
>t. never watched Office Space
Only more evidence that soulless office drones shouldn't be making vidya.
How many west vs east threads are in the catalogue right now? No one even gives a shit about this, it's so moronic and forced
>west
No such thing
At least there's class of heroes.
Depicted: """"Dwarfs""""
>Kemono moeblob slop
Ugh
Best dwarfs
we will be delivered from generic slop inshallah
>not man
nothing

>human paladin
>human cleric
>human bard
>human wizard
Yup, it's gaming time
Not even the first Wizardy let you get away with this being a good team set up.
