They're just midwits complaining to complain. Out of all the issues with the game, all they can b***h about is color. I miss miiverse when you could tell who's played the game and who hasn't.
>battlepass seasonal fomo bullshit AND microtransactions AND "founder's packs" AND it's all in early access too
They're going all out with the red flags, jesus christ.
There's a term "leaving money on the table" that has permeated this industry. In short, why NOT do everything you can to monetize? After all industry cannot quantify customer goodwill in any shape or form and idiots keep funding this shit.
Blue protocol was doomed when Amazon got their hands on it then delayed it for moronic reasons. It’s going to fail badly and only Bandai and Amazon to blame.

another common thing:

they both use eac

Same. I only found out because I looked at new games that just came out. I hadn't heard anything about it prior to release. What I hear though is it's a lot like Warframe.
I didn't say it wasn't a good title. By now it's surpassed the meaning of the individual words and become a proper noun in its own right. No one actually registers the words "Monster" and "Hunter" when talking about the games.
>pay $20 to play a f2p game in Early Access just to find out the servers don't work and you can't even get past the login
If you supported this you get what you deserve.
Something I really hate about modern games is how a lot of genuinely well done environmental art is totally wasted on extremely disposable games with soulless UIs. Someone was basically worked to death to make it so every building in that town had believable architecture and tile roofing and the health bar looks like it could have come from any game and was made in MS Paint.
There is a reason a lot of people in the gaming industry move onto something else. It just is a bad return investment and not a stable job either. A lot of these games fail so the studios don't pay well and demand shit working hours. Why the frick would anyone do IT for a video game studio when you can do that somewhere else for better pay, more stable pay, and less stress? What do you gain being an administrator for something like GW2? Where trannies yell at you if the servers have a hiccup for more than 10 minutes. I couldn't imagine. You better be paying me 120k minimum to be a server senior admin for any of these projects. And the work is demanding.
I've been saying it for years, the actual character, environment and conceptual designers and music composers of the game industry are absolutely and completely fricked over by the balance devs, system planning devs, corporate, and in a lot of cases game directors. There's a lot of very talented people in the business but you'd never really know it because they're tied down by the other 70% of game development that are littered with too many incompetent fricks.
The crafting doesn't seem super scummy except for the muscle girl and the wizard but that might be because they are the super late game characters that need the highest tier of items and you will get more of the currency for them later. Since you need 24000 currency for them but only 6000 for the starters.
don't really care about it but the consumer base for gaming has gotten more entitled over the past 5 years, no matter what developers do it will never please Internet Karens
I waited 1 hour in the queue while working out, finally log in, try to go back to the same expedition the game crashed me from 2 days ago and then pic related immediately happens as it begins to load
this is inexcusable, these people are morons and should be killed in Minecraft (you can't play Wayfinder)
Okay, this sucks. But remember that the devs are having a far worse time right now.
We’ve bought into early access for a game we’re excited for and can’t play it. I get why that’s frustrating. Especially when we chose to support with our wallets for an unfinished product.
Just please remember that everyone who has worked hard on this game are likely having a far worse time than we are. First impressions count for a lot, and this launch could mean the end of their jobs if it doesn’t work out well.
I’m sure they’re bending over backwards trying to get things working, and must be really stressed. This isn’t me trying to excuse them, just trying to remind people to have some empathy. Harassing devs endlessly won’t fix anything, nor speed things up, it’ll only make their hard day even harder.
It’s a shame this thing is common in gaming, but they haven’t done this maliciously. They’ve just messed up pretty bad, and hopefully they learn from it. We just need to be patient, and look forward to when we can finally play.
You should find healthier outlets to relieve your stress. It wont do you any good in the long term, when you inevitably start to do this IRL as well. I'm rooting for you, anon!
Hopefully this game failing tells shitty devs that want to make a game like this: Let your players make their own characters. Who the frick thought a character locked class game was a good idea?
Watching some streamers play it, why are modern MMO's so allergic to putting any challenge in the first 10 hours of the game? People aren't going to quit because they die a couple of times early on holy shit. When even a dogshit gamer like Asmongold, who also isn't reading any tutorials, is no-selling every early dungeon it makes it really hard to get excited to play it because I know I'll have to get through a massive amount of mindless no skill combat to get to anything good. Vanilla WoW would frick your shit up in the first ten levels if you wander into the wrong area or even just mess up and pull too much and it made the early game so much more engaging.
>I could see this being a better Warframe.
LMAO No
>how to craft one of the non starter characters >collect 10000 gold super easy you get hundreds at a time >collect 45 keys from completing dungeons and then do the events to get crafting items >collect 200 of the highest level crafting material from doing hard dungeons with mutators >collect 25000 memory fragments that you get maybe 100 of per dungeon if you scour it and take 5+ minutes
Warframe had some bad frame grinds but jesus fricking christ this blows it out of the water
The fact you're expected to actually do hard content in order to grind this game's version of a Warframe actually sounds good to me. The one big problem I had with Warframe was there was no reason to minmax anything, and there wasn't any challenge expected of you for anything. It's pretty faceroll. Now, the amount of these items you have to grind or the lack of them being generous with how much you get, yeah I mean that needs to find a better sweet spot. But I mean the foundation is there to turn this into a better Warframe. We'll see how it develops by the time the real release comes in like 6 months.
Im the one that posted it yesterday. After actually getting to play for a full day it doesn't seem that bad. The only really fricked thing is the memories and that finally started to increase after like level 8 so instead of getting 5-15 per drop it's 15-52 and keeps going up and will probably be closer to 500 to 600 per dungeon at max level when you can actually grind the rest of their material since it's all tier 3 and at level 17 i'm still at tier 2 drops.
The biggest issue is that there is no real mid tier for characters right now. You got the super cheap starters and the super expensive endgame ones. Venomess is in the middle but you get her from the pass so there is no reason to craft her normally.
I don't get how you don't install some sort of grace period for when someone disconnects so they don't have to go back to a long queue once the game decides to crash/disconnect. So much about this game's foundations is barebones.
To be fair there are sidequests in almost every game that involve a man losing his wife or a newlywed couple or a man looking to court a woman. I'm of the opinion they should barely even be any dialogue at all for shit that doesn't specifically matter for the main plot of the game.
It would absolutely still be weird. Just imagine the context. You walk up to a person and the first thing they say is "I have a wife and were married." Thats kinda weird.
Yeah, Watcher Isti is supposed to be a female character.
They had like one half-finished concept placeholder scribble of her in one of the beta tests.
That character model on the left is a generic dude you see all over the place in the game.
>That character model on the left is a generic dude you see all over the place in the game.
Not that guy you're replying to, but as someone who just spammed space through every single dialogue, I just thought these NPCs that look alike were some clone shit.
This is pretty accurate, though.. in reality, most gay people make that small part of human life their entire personality and won't shut the frick up about it. They think it makes them interesting. It doesn't.
Can someone confirm this for me. If you start an expedition with an imbuement you're on your own or with your party, but if you just queue and THEN use an imbuement you can do the expedition with randoms?

Paid early access + 48 hour delay + servers have been a complete shitshow for 48 hours because their piss poor server infrastructure can only handle 10k players in the game.
At first the game didn't even have a queue system. They were unironically creating it on the fly on the first day, when their servers crashed and burned from just ~5k players on Steam.
It was just TOO good and TOO popular that the servers couldn't handle its greatness and all the people that wanted to play it. Just give them more money so they can upgrade the servers, buy those intentionally misaligned game currency packs so you always have leftover moneygems.
>https://twitter.com/playwayfinder/status/1692901375678488578 >woopsie guys we didn't realize that more people would be trying to play the game on the weekend! just keep waiting we will fix it eventually 🙂
>server capacity costs money >cheap out by buying low capacity servers despite clearly knowing how many people will play it because you can then upscale capacity to the actual player count after launch instead of "wasting" money on too much capacity
basically they expected all the important people like streamers would get in and some common folk would have to wait in a queue but their entire queue system didn't work and the servers crashed and burned so it's a complete shit show instead of the controlled situation they wanted. It's just corporate greed
It's not even an MMO, you only ever see 30 people at once, tops. Also, they just planned for less than 10k people, for whatever fricking reason, because that's what they had in their closed beta. They didn't even think to do any kind of open beta.
Server issues aside, I wonder how this game is gonna do in the long run. I feel like they are completely shooting themselves in the foot by designing the game for consoles and casuals. Only having 4 abilities makes it feel more like MOBA combat than RPG or MMO combat. There's not really a whole lot of depth.
I forgot, because I played Wingrave and the ultimate is just a shieldbreak + dmg boost. 1 more ability doesn't really make that much of a difference though. The combat is still more reminiscent of MOBA gameplay.
Takes a minute to queue in but it’s better now, was at 18000 when I tired to play when I got off work but it’s at 6k now

You have to be moronic to not know who Joe Madureira is. Pic related.
wow he was a creative director for a game released over a decade ago! what does that have to do with this game that the thread is about?
He worked on lots of comic books and created the Darksiders franchise. He is also a co-founder for Wayfinders.
Great! That changes nothing about what I posted
did he do the art for this game? because it looks nothing like his art
The entire Darksiders franchise is shit.
2 is a good Zelda clone
I enjoyed 1 and 2 but couldn't bring myself to play through 3. Never even tried the overhead spin-off.
the only bad darksiders game is 3.
all others are at least decent.

What should I pick?

I didn’t ask about the ui

Lol you really upset I spent $20 to play a game early ?

I think I sincerely prefer the brown tint from 10-15 years ago.

Less random disconnects now so people are actually playing the game.
I just disconnected
Where were you at? I'm in the 4,000s. Also be warned if you want to try other tutorial characters.
I was just in the game messing with dyes and did the first dungeon, then I disconnected
Should've been an Epic exclusive for 6 months while they work out the server capacity
At least the devs for this game actually post and respond in their discord, unlike other devs where they just let the CMs post for them.
how do you know that's not just some cm guy posting that? reads like typical cm/pr speak to me.
These Riot aesthetics are absolutely revolting.
Besides fricking up server capacity, I can't say. I would have an opinion if I could play it.

but how is the gameplay?
The gameplay is a lot of fun actually. There's only 60-100, hours worth of content so far.
Something I really hate about modern games is how a lot of genuinely well done environmental art is totally wasted on extremely disposable games with soulless UIs. That sounds way easier than most warframes I can think of.
Sounds similar to Xaku and Hildryn farms at worst.
The biggest issue is that there is no real mid tier for characters right now. You got the super cheap starters and the super expensive endgame ones. Venomess is in the middle but you get her from the pass so there is no reason to craft her normally.
That grind makes sense because theres only 6 characters currently, unlike the dozens in Warframe.
I wish game devs would release technical post mortems on why their MMORPG launches fail
I just cannot comprehend how a queuing system fails with just tens of thousands of players

The side quest is actually by far the longest so far in this game. Just got "connection error" trying to progress it lmao

There is nothing "random" about that word choice here.

Yes they still have placeholder man talking to himself dressed as 6 different people in the inn.
There's a chance this character will be female on full release? Huh, interesting hypostasis
I still don’t get why people are even mad about this, it’s just a gay dude

It's not even an MMO, you only ever see 30 people at once, tops. Also, they just planned for less than 10k people, for whatever fricking reason, because that's what they had in their closed beta. They didn't even think to do any kind of open beta.
Yea they really should have did a few open betas so they could dress test this stuff
Nobody runs their own servers anymore, they just rely on Amazon AWS or Google cloud shit, so of course they don't have a clue how to run shit.
clearly all the brains and talent from Vigil went to Gunfire Games instead of Airship Syndicate
>F2P game
>But paid early access
>Early access doesn't even work
Dumbass devs.
You have 5 abilities
I forgot, because I played Wingrave and the ultimate is just a shieldbreak + dmg boost. 1 more ability doesn't really make that much of a difference though. The combat is still more reminiscent of MOBA gameplay.
Most Warframes have only 1 or 2 abilities worth using and they're doing alright.
Of course, Warframe has its exceptional movement system to pick up a lot of complexity slack.
