Nothing. It made $562 million in 2019 alone, and increased its sales in subsequent years. One of the most successful scams I've ever seen.

Corporate greed, lies, deception, fraud, 60% of budget going to marketing, 5 years of doing nothing, only 1.5 years of actual dev time etc

how come the relic's nanomachine business could reconstruct V's head but couldn't fix Jackie's bullet wound?

Jackie took it out before he died, if he would've left it in all the story bullshit would've happened to him instead

I don't get all the hate this game gets other then it was pre alpha on launch and didn't work on PS3 the cumps. Then again I didn't follow the devs or marketing because they're only job is to get you to buy a product. Dev promises are empty as a presidents so I didn't think it was going to any thing ground breaking. It was also the first time I had ever heard about the setting knowing more now I feel it should of been more meat to the game. Most of the mechanics are lazy won't go into the coding its a mess.

It tried to be both an open world action game better than GTA and a deep roleplaying game with choices and consequences better than whatever RPG you have in mind with those qualities; for example New Vegas. The team itself believed in "CDPR magic" and that they could do it because everyone sucked their dicks over Witcher 3. Turns out trying to do all that in merely four years (really two) made both the GTA aspect and the RPG aspect utterly suck major balls.

Story is linear, sidequests are presented via text messages instead of talking with your client, seeing their faces and hearing their emotion like in TW3; world is empty and barely interactable, cars are slippery as frick no matter the terrain, looting/shooting gameplay loop is bad and makes it so you're constantly replacing your current weapon with one 0.5 times stronger and you're always dressed like a clown, almost no interactions with any semi-important npc before the game just ends, V is both its own character with barely any roleplaying options and a boring pov that you never feel truly connected with, Keanu is sometimes giving it his all and other times phoning it in, perks are boring % increases which means a lot of the time you'll have a dozen unspent perks simply because of how boring it is to sit in the skill trees and try and figure out what sounds nice and what sounds useless, you'll see all weapons and cars the game has to offer almost before even leaving Watson, there's no body customization where you actually get to see your limbs change to robotic augmentations (and no, the different arms that keep the skin color don't count), ripperdocs open a generic vendor screen making something that should be a big deal like changing your lungs or eyes feel like you're buying a burguer, and probably a million other things that I'm forgetting.

Thought muh meme celebrity focus would sell more copies than actually trying to deliver on all of their promises and making a stellar video game.

I don't even know if I want to play this when it eventually gets patched up by 2077.

Truly the biggest disappointment in vidya history, bar none.

Over-promised, under-delivered, and the game was literally broken on launch.

its aggravating that they just abandoned any post release content for the game and let it die. honestly after this I'll never support CDPR or GOG again. I didn't even hate CP2077 I just thought they'd continue to support it instead of shamelessly dropping it
