Why do homosexuals act like they genuinely prefer bland, lifeless, nondescript text over something memorable? I know we're on Ganker and it's simply epic to love Japan period, but if you pretend to be a moron long enough eventually you're not pretending.
I played this and Trigger for the first time in 2016, along with Final Fantasy VII. This was the best game of those three in terms of the experience i had with it. I still have memories of being blown away at the depth in the story and FMV cutscenes despite already growing up with late 2000s Triple A video games like Mass Effect, Bioshock, Red Dead, GTA, Halo, COD, Skyrim and Fallout.
Meet your childhood friend's dad who was thought to be dead. You can even recruit her and her dog before this.
But for some reason, no reunion scene was actually planned, because you lose all your party members so this family gets no closure.
Strange game.
>What were they thinking?
Apparently that their moronic playerbase wouldn't be dumb enough to let the whole field go the enemy color like in the pic. This is a fricking late game fight mind you so you can't even claim this is like Matador filtering out the noobs.
Sorry the game had the audacity to throw in one or two curveball fights instead of being a walk in the park like the entirety of Trigger.
it wasn't even that hard, just don't let the field go all white an you can tank that trash, even without diminish you should be okay. also set a trap for w/e the other spell is
It's a good fight. The sad music is playing, he looks like a weenie and the fight starts and he hits like a weenie. And then he pops off because you underestimated him. Which made for a memorable fight.
I've never seen battle screenshots from Chrono Cross before. People in this thread seem to like it; why is it so unplayed relative to Trigger? I played CT many years ago and really enjoyed it, but the majority opinion I saw then was that CC was sort of its own thing, not similar, and not really worth playing, so I never gave it a chance. Except for the soundtrack, which has some kick-ass tracks.
Did I frick up by skipping it? Or is the game just decent?
it got a lot of hate back in the day because it simply was not a sequel to Chrono Trigger, but it's OK.
the attribute system is overcomplicated and there are entirely too many characters.
It's 99% b***hing about "muh original cast", because most of them are seemingly killed offscreen. But because most people are brainlet speedreaders, they either misunderstood what was happening or completely missed the fact that the good ending repairs the dimensional distortion and undoes most of that shit anyway.
Chrono Cross is a text book example of "It's not a bad game, just not a good sequel". It couldn't live up to what Chrono Trigger was because, let's be honest here, nothing could.
Aside from pacing issues and some weird convoluted plot asspulls the game on itself is fantastic.
>MFW still can't kill the Hydra boss
Frick that fight. Fight would've been more tolerable if the fricker didn't spam Putrid Odor every turn. Even party members that resist yellow still got fricked over. I dunno if the remaster rebalanced the boss fights.
>And then, the baka gaijin will get filtered!
>WWWWWWWWWW
Some guys in squaresoft while making Kino Cross.
get dragged on, Black person
was he crono?
As a kid I always thought this was Crono or his dad. Apparently its not which is totally gay and lame.
>The game literally says it's Leena's dad
>"Crono's dad!!!"
Crono never died, he just went undercover.
>use sprigg
>turn into the thing with just4kicks
>win fight
frick this fight seriously
>ガッシュアウト/Gush Out... "WhatsUpDoc"
>連蹴り/Multikick... "Just4Kicks"
>カブファイナル/Turnip Final... "TossedSalad"
>フィッシング/Fishing... "Hook&Sinker"
>soulless/soul
soullessness is better than soul.
i've never seen quads be wrong before, but i guess there's a first time for everything
i'm right
what you call soul, is bad.
worst part is, it only kicks 3 times not 4

(you)
get fricked you shouldnt have used magnify
what does it do exactly?
A frickton of damage. If your character's element is black, they are dead for sure.
it multiples magic damage by 1.5, dminish reduces magic damage by 1.5. you must cast diminish in this fight to win it easy. This boss is a caster.
I beat this as a 15 year old or something so it can't be that bad
Might as well reset if he uses it on Lynx.
Raziel looks like THAT?!
if it's any consolation no one actually played that garbage long enough to reach the fight
>Fantastical kids adventure gets stopped by the cold reality of adulthood
Kino
>diminish
get fricked
i loved this game
and that bunny girl from the boat was perfect

Ps1 was when games were realty trying to tell some thicc stories. Stories now are typically junk by comparison.
>PS1 Square
>Told stories inspired by visionaries like Tomino
>PS5 Square
>Tells stories inspired by whatever slop is popular on HBO

Strange game.
i don't think you can have leena or poshul in your party at that point, you're lynx when you fight him, not serge
if poshul is the dog from your home village you can get him? her? as like your first or second recruit.
the window is just narrow on it.

>late game
you have the whole alter world/under world, dragon hunt, etc after this gay. this is like half way at best yuh?
miguel was midgame at most
isn't he literally the last boss before the disc swap?
nah, disc swap i think is when you get to the dead sea after getting serges body back, it's really far in
>ending on disc 1 to move into disc2 isn't the half way point
dumb dumb.
now explain kato.
But I wasn't disagreeing with you.
However,
it seems I was wrong anyway.
so is kato ruins everything why does the cast blame you for it all?
it wasn't even that hard, just don't let the field go all white an you can tank that trash, even without diminish you should be okay. also set a trap for w/e the other spell is
Honestly this thing was way harder and it was just some literal who boss
Leena was the one true waifu
Poshul*
Thanksh anonypoo.
she cooks
"No!"

he looks like a fricking disney tour guide lmao. this game was so moronic.
HOLY
DRAG

It's decent, worth at least one play.
It's 99% b***hing about "muh original cast", because most of them are seemingly killed offscreen. >gets filtered by a middle aged guy wearing a straw hat
Absolutely kino boss fight.
His first name is Chuck.
>letting the field become fully white with two black characters
>MFW still can't kill the Hydra boss
