this is why Tulin is the only one I ever use. At least when you're gliding his ability is just mapped to the a button. Yonobu wouldn't be so bad if he didn't weigh my vehicles down and block my view. I basically only use him for the big Zonaite rock walls. The only time I've ever used Sidon was for Thyphlo ruins. Haven't beaten the Gerudo area yet but Riju might actually be a keeper.
Mineru is a missed opportunity. She's too slow and weak to be of any use as a mount by the point most players unlock her. Best thing to do with her is give her frost and a strong weapon so she can rack up damage with freeze + shatter combos.

She could be the first sage you get in theory as long as you have 10 hearts and getting through the storm. She was my second sage.
I got her really early by doing Thunderhead Isles before clearing the storm. I'm glad I did because navigating the sky islands through the storm without the hoverbike ended up being some of the most fun and engagement I've felt through the whole game. I basically only had metal equipment and had to scrounge from the constructs for bows and shields. To find the next islands I either had to wait for lightning and look for their silhouettes or fire shock arrows blindly into the storm and hope I hit one. Then I had to glide to them and climb up the walls in the rain and if I fell I had to start from the very beginning, meaning the stakes were high at all times. Of course now I realize I could have just skydived to my death or reloaded a save but I wasn't thinking like that at the time.
She was my third on accident. I was doing that kill the three brother Hinox quest in Faron and a sky rock fell. Decided to use it to reach the top of the waterfalls instead of climbing, but it actually lead right into the heart of the Thunderclouds.
Shrine sensor starts blaring, jumped off and was pretty much next to the mask that kicks off the rest of the quest. I didn't realize until the Spirit Temple quest is actually formally given to you that I had bypassed a massive chunk of it.

Riju is pretty good because she will zap enemies and make them drop their weapons and also cause an explosion.
It is sort of surprising they went that way when in BOTW you activate the abilities just by holding a button.

BotW/TotK's combat is already bad enough, and having a Pawn System equivalent but with a Pawn you can't customize and with the worst possible A.I.? I'll leave that shit at home.
Game is chock full of resources anyway. The whole avatar scheme is a neat idea, but Jesus Christ does Nintendo need to hire some actual game designers cause this shit is jank. From the core designz, to enemy A.I., these games feel like they're from 2004.
Frick Monolith Soft and creating a sandbox of uninteresting locales and characters, bring back a small, self-contained map and outsource Capcom. Maybe then when you establish mechanical relevancy, try and go bigger.

Color me impressed. As a SD noob who uses ComfyUI, how do you get those images out at that resolution so fast yet so cleanly? Takes me about 5 minutes to continue rolling for something decent, another 5 minutes inpainting, and then another 15 minutes upscaling (only takes 3 to upscale, but I always have to retry with different settings and VAE in order to get it right).
i use the auto 111 something ui, and i prompt pretty clean tags and concise, then upscale 2x with r-esrgan 4x anime. one pic takes like 1½ minutes with upscaling but i only do that when i'm really happy with something. it's really rare i use inpaint.
artist mix is very important for getting clean outputs

Unlike what the moronic artists online always spout, AI has been able to fix hands since nearly the beginning with some simple inpainting. More recently better models have allowed for just straight up accurate generation for a reasonable amount of the time.
There's a new system called ControlNet that can be used to identify and then reproduce poses, faces, patterns, etc.
It can really help to avoid jank even with hands specifically.

Activating Sage powers in battle isn't supposed to be trivial. There are five of these b***hes and they have short cooldowns. If you could activate them with a single button press anywhere at any time, you'd spend all of combat just rotating between them.
Balancing your mechanics around "it's really awkward and unreliable to use them" has never been good game design, but personally I'm more concerned about how awful they are out of battle. I'm walking in a squiggle trying to pick up all the loot from a slain boss and if I'm lucky I'll get Garuda girl spazzing the frick out like the awkward martyr complex that she is, but more likely I'll get Tulin or Youknowbro throwing the shit across the room. And don't get me started on Mechafurry trying to get you to mount her.
