The gimmick is that different carts, characters, and gliders give different points based on the level. This keeps players from sticking to a single character or cart meta like waluigi gays online. The right cart and set up will also allow you to hold 3 items. Every trick you do, or enemy knockout with with items gives you points. The right vehicle and character combo gives bonus multipliers. you accrue points so each week or so you play against others for a top spot in rankings. You can replay levels with different builds to try and increase your scores to reach higher in the rankings and thus better rewards.

He knew his throttle sticks. He made a habit of riding the brakes to compensate instead of fixing it. He should know riding your brakes for too long will cause the hydraulics to fail
