no it wouldn't
nearly every single game ever runs on windows 10
you homosexuals don't even install them you just see "oh my god is this game like 5 years old??? wowww i bet it doesn't run on MODERN SYSTEMS, i bet it doesnt run on MODERN WINDOWS, my SYSTEM is so MODERN it couldnt possibly run a game from 5 years ago"
why don't you homosexuals ever specify an actual issue with it? >X game doesn't run on modern systems
yes it fricking does BE SPECIFIC >x game doesn't run on my PC because of an issue with a specific CPU/GPU/OS setting
that's better
>works fine on win10
...with how many patches?
Seriously now, the forums are full of people crying for fixes.
Cry of Fear was made on GoldSrc, there was also this one other mod that I can't remember the name of for Doom where you play as a schizo trying to cope with the fact he'll never be able to be back to his happy island
>Cry of Fear was made on GoldSrc
Yes, and it was also made by a very experienced and passionate HL1 modder who'd released AoM and AoM:DC years prior.
Probably good? Wasn't in fury made on the build engine? I'd assume people that were passionate enough to make something on an old engine would put a lot of heart into it
There's already thousands of wads/maps/campaigns in old games made by extremely skilled community members even now.
Most recently I tried "the punishment due" in quake, in was released in 2021 and the map design is on point. I was impressed by the fourth map which was like a tiny open world made out of small singular levels all connected. It's long and there's 300 monsters in it. It's way above what you find in AAA shooters regarding the level design and enemy placement.
>no experienced programmers, it's been 20 years since it was relevant and skills decay over time >almost nonexistent documentation - good luck digging up forum posts from 2002 >potential incompatibilities with modern windows/linux versions and no integration with modern tools
it wouldn't even get finished
probably bad considering most modern devs don't know how to use UE1. Though if they are experienced it would probably be better than the average game since the focus on hyper realistic graphics instead of gameplay is the reason why games are bad now. Also creativity is born out of limitations, so even if it was bad, it would probably be interesting

It will be a new game on old engine.
Maybe good, maybe bad.
I don't understand what the answer to that question is supposed to be, games like this aren't that rare.
bad
Elaborate right now.
>modern dev
You are a Black.
One of the level designers for Bioshock made a Doom demake if the gardens in Bioshock. It was actually pretty good
Do you not play indie games at all? There's tons of HL1 mods still made as well as games released to the SegaGenesis and the NES.
>There's tons of HL1 mods still made
name 5 (five)
https://www.moddb.com/games/half-life/mods?sort=dateup-desc
Those are already made not still being made.
>TBD
Fricking moron.
probably would have some issues running on modern ~~*windows*~~
That would be a great filter

It's all cope by a bunch of SteamOS shills.
Wee 10 has absolute shit compatibility with anything older than DirectX11.
Pre-DX9 is lucky to even boot.
Still on Win7 and it's just hilarious to see 10-tards cry about Max Payne and such not working.

None. I installed the game and then ran it.
>the forums are full of people crying for fixes.
What forums? Every game has forums full of morons who can't figure out how to launch a game.
>What forums?
Just check Steam.
Also PC Gaming Wiki is filled with fixes you absolutely need to play it.
>steamies
lol, lmao
>Also PC Gaming Wiki is filled with fixes you absolutely need to play it.
Except I didn't use or need any of them, moron
They'd seethe and give up with the first 5 minutes.
Probably good? Wasn't in fury made on the build engine? I'd assume people that were passionate enough to make something on an old engine would put a lot of heart into it
>in fury
Ion fury*
Ion Maiden*.
Nobody remembers that name anymore, chud.
>Chud
Opinion status: worthless.
Ion Maiden's Fury
It would be really cool if they did that for a/the sequel... if they don't get threatened again

The nu-Wolfenstein devs have released a couple Quake episodes. A Doom wad too IIRC.

Something like Dusk.
completly wrong
It depends.
>Western dev
Shit game as always.
>Jap dev
SOVL
probably full of gays and minorities
Unfinished
it would be extremely sovlfvl
Modern devs can't shit out a half decent product with 100x better tools and documentation
They wouldn't last a day back then

Even devs that do know how to use the tools as a hobby will struggle. See how Wrath is years over schedule.

Wait for Starfield and you will have your answer.
a dev team just made a game in the Build engine (duke3d, blood, shadow warrior) a few years ago.
