Hard to be less funny or uninteresting as anything GW has ever dribbled out.

Warhammer fantasy, because it already isn't grimderp. You fricking moron.

Only the End Times and that final edition had Grimderp, I'd say.

Starting around 7th things started getting grimmer and derpier.

Was it 7th or 8th that made the entire nation of Bretonnia a big meat shield for the elves?

Isn't fantasy already that way? Its not nearly as moronic as 40k when it comes to the grimdark stuff. I mean, a Empire soldier can and (often does) move up the ranks. He's given the best armor and weaponry the EMpire can craft on mass, and retirement isn't unheard of.

Fantasy is close, though some of it does still reach Grimderp level. Mostly involving Chaos and the Dark Elves.

I don't mind Dark elves being edgelords. The Brettonia retcon was probably the worst grimderp ever added to the setting and I don't blame brettonia players for largely ignoring it when making their doods.

They already have good gods in Warhammer Fantasy

Problem is they dont fricking matter because the entire setting is built around the cringe ''Lol, Chaos is inevitable, the Gods are all powerful and can effortlessly bench anyone, and the world is doomed. You're just amusing so they're doing it slowly'' Shit. Chaos wank is literally inseperable from Warhammer Fantasy.

        >Chaos is inevitable
        Literally or methaporically?

          Anonymous

As in the Ruinous Powers, the Forces of Chaos are unstoppable, unbeatable and endless. Chaos is inevitable because they are guarenteed to win and consume everything. This part of the setting is known as ''Chaos Wank'' its in 40k as well.

If you don't like the looming threat of Chaos being a central tension in your game then just bump the timeline back 40 years and pick something else instead
Or just play near the End Times but don't actually play out Chaos conquering everything and treat it like the other 99% of people who still like WHF treat it

I see. I'm biased because I've mostly played Total War where they are anything but unstoppable.

            Like shit

There is one schizo constantly seething about whf, that for once "good" isn't guaranteed to win. It's not mere 2 weeks case lol.
            [...]
            >total war secondaries
Total War is a bright fantasy freakshit garbage that completely fails at capturing Warhammer Fantasy aesthetics. Literal capeshit with immortal Superheroes that can't die and instead can only be defeated for a while so they can come back later and fight again. It's indistinguishable from AoS in terms of aesthetics and themes and it's pathetic that Total War homosexuals try to come up with any reasons to dislike AoS at this point.

            > Literal capeshit with immortal Superheroes that can't die
That's a gameplay mechanic, not a story one. You can, and will, wipe them out pretty easily by taking their last province.

There are other gods in Sigmar, but the pantheons in WFB are dead and gone.

Elf ones kinda stuck around with Isha and Khaine. There's also neo-Mathlann, where everyone knew real one is dead and gone but he still got worshiped out of spite and contrarianism until Warp started vomiting out a new one

      >They already have good gods in Warhammer Fantasy

Yeah, but not good aspects of the Chaos Gods. It's a fairly big gap.

Your pic can be made as a good argument for "benevolent" aspects of the 4, EXCEPT Nurgle.
Nurgle is not about growth in the slightest, he's about stagnation. Better to cast him as a "preserver" instead

Just like WHF without end times, so just like most WHF fans look at it.
If you want grimderp see 40k where everyone is evil butthole.
It's tiresome that 40k and total war secondaries just think WHF is 40k but fantasy instead space and assume it's same grimderp.

reduce the chaos wank to being a thing chaos tells people in setting. also make it more like it's inspiration in that chaos and order forces are constantly fighting across universes, neither are good or the sole force of divinity, chaos just has more of a foothold here than order.

Like Near Eastern Stone/Bronze age royal war propaganda, one would assume.

With psychic Pharaos slaying traitors in their dreams and shit and greek gods being real and amusing themselves through acts of forced transformation vore.

Seems to be a fair bit of overlap between Nurgle and Khorne's domains here. Or maybe Khorne is supposed to reap what Nurgle sows?
