For real, it could only be set in the early 80's. You'd have Asian gang wars with Lebanese, King Cross bashings where every drunk Aussie would bash a gay in public, molestation going on in Catholic schools, and try to mix things up timeline wise while exploring very neglected communities.
Housing commisions places filled with bogans / drugs, Aboriginals with destroyed communities always drunk, Kids being kids doing crazy stupid shit. You'd have the early surfing culture & Aussie beaches. Bushlands and forests with lost people in them, maybe chuck in the huge bushfires, weird ass weather systems like massive fogs, sporting events, horse racing, Car racing.
You could have a mini game every time you return home like checking your boots and dodging the jumping spiders / getting rid of snakes.
Surprisingly interesting since Australia would have you think it's multicultural but there's pure rampant racism pre-2000s

You're talking about a country that enacted laws in WA that added so much red tape that it made it impossible to do anything, and they had to revoke it only after a short period because of how bad it was. And yet is now going to a vote this year to enact the same policies into our constitution.

People here are fricking braindead. Total brain rot.

Our electricity prices at my house went from 1000 to 3000 in a month because of these closures. If Labor doesn't want to discussing nuclear energy then they should get the frick out. This almost makes me wish people were rioting over these disastrous polices they're implementing.

Make no mistake, prices have increased ridiculous, but $3000 is excessive.
You should look into your bill. I can guarantee you aren't paying the cheapest price. And using controlled load helps a lot too.

We used to pay $400 monthly a few years ago, and I managed to get it down to $100 without compromises. In a three person home we are paying $200 in the worst month, around $100 average.

I'll look into seeing if i can get a cheaper deal out there. But regardless the pricing is still fricked and labor need to go over this shit. When it comes down to the bills that's where they're fricking up big time.

That just reads like a wall of cope from someone suffering an inferiority complex. The US is not that much older than Australia yet has a rich history of literature. Moby Dick and Ulysses, both of which widely considered some of the greatest novels ever written, are both American in origin.

The real problem with Australia is they have spent their entire existence trying to define what they aren't rather than what they are (Canada has this problem too), which I think is the result of them having gradually be handed their independence rather than having to fight a war over it. When you win your independence in a war, it leads to you severing all ties with the host nation you were once attached to. But when you just get handed it out of pity, you stay strongly connected to your host nation. So your identity becomes one of trying to show how different you are, rather than simply not caring about the former host.

That cop is literally playing with the fact that he's bigger and more powerful than her to basically abuse her, if he did that to a man of his size he would have been beaten to death by that man.
As for me, I'd try to grab his gun and kill him, I'm pro death penalty and I believe some people don't have a right to life, this cop sure doesn't have that right either if he does this on camera.

          Anonymous

It doesn't matter how big he is if she just clocks him in the balls. She's in range to do it.
The problem is she's stuck in the mindset of "he's a cop so I need to comply", basically appealing to authority. A very dangerous mindset to have, because it leads to situations like that. Not just the cop trying to choke her, but on a more abstract level it leads to a society that would allow such a chain of events to happen in the first place. 50 years ago do you think an Australian cop would've even considered laying hands on a compliant woman in the streets? Not likely. Do you think an Australian cop would've even considered trying to force people indoors because of a pandemic? Also not likely. But they do it now, because a culture of compliance and deference to authority has been cultivated in Australia and indeed most of the western world.

            Anonymous

The problem is that people are bombarded at every second with the mindset of having to comply with the establishment, the whole mainstream media be it news sources or social media have only one discourse, and that's it that you have to do what the "intelligencia" dictates, simple as.
The most common trick they do is catalog everything as a conspiracy theory, even things you've seen with your own eyes, they just invent some excuse to tell that your own eyes are lying to you.
With this shit people lose all critical thinking because you can go wherever you want that the discourse will always be the same, and when someone tells an opposing story they get censored and they character assassinate that person.
