Nothing, there's a LOT to do for me but ultimately I get bored of the combat. Following a rotation over and over while I have little agency over gears besides maximizing DPS. I like combat most when it's unscripted and I like character building when I can tweak some things to change how I play or how I want to tackle something. I spent a lot of time on FFXIV but I'm always thirsty for something different. Playing games on the side doesn't really work for me either, I tend to hyperfocus on one game at a time. Would be nice to socialize if I didn't need to sub like
said, though I don't really form long lasting relationships anymore.
I don't mind the sub if the gameplay was worthwhile but the problem at least for me is that there is nothing worthwhile to do in the game since collecting things and silly treadmills aren't things I care about, raiding is cancer and both pvp and pve are boring otherwise.
Especially after subbing for over a thousand days I think I should have free access to the game without new expansions of course.
I got so bored of combat that I decided to become a pure crafter and, honestly, really really enjoyed it. That added several hundred hours by itself. I felt like a real craftsperson just feeling out a recipe before going all in on HQ items, and working out a macro to automate the process once I got it down.
Curious if other games have interesting crafting systems like that. Usually it's just selecting several items to combine into one. I know I got bored of GW2's crafting because it was just that.
Nice that you're enjoying it but empty treadmills that do nothing for my character or the world around me do not interest me.
A treadmill I enjoy is being able to fight a boss on fair grounds after being one or two shot by it. On my terms, with the strategy I want. And if that means grinding gear and missions I will gladly do that. But it's my decision and my combat gameplay is mine, not something predetermined by devs.
Nah, I stopped playing a while back. I completely agree with what you've said though. Scripted fights, static rotations, not even the option to build my character how I want... Those are why I get bored after some time.
Im still playing cause I have content I still wanna do.
But 7.0, I feel like I'll drop after the first raid tier if they don't spice things up, I don't want ShB 3.0 for combat content.
Me getting isekai'd into Ffxiv and freaking the scions out in a world tour to meet every other character because I keep hitting everyone's buttons until I meet a hasty end because I accidentaly told how souls work in Ffxiv to Suzaku and said that she's technically right.
Signed up to save Eorzea, ended up saving the world, i did enough. Maybe if they make the whole game play more like eureka. Maybe after the hype surfers ride away to another mmo.
For it not to be some shitty weeb game filled with ERP groomers and boring ass mandatory quests
make ffxi-2
Completely different gameplay, improved quest structure, and an actually good story.
More content, getting all combat jobs lvl 90 was a motivation killer one that I'll always contend with from now on, come new expansions
That, or explicit Y'shtola romance for my Juan Fantasia. It's time to settle down.
For the graphical update to be significantly good.
Something along the lines of it clearly taking advantage of the production costs spent on FFXVI
I would come hang out if you didn't need a sub to chat

Oh yeah, and the crafting questlines were actual kino. Jobs questlines were hit or miss in my opinion.

For the combat to be more like WoW's. I refuse to believe people find the design philosophy of "only single target damage buttons" engaging.
i've only ever played FFXIV and i feel like the combat rotations are pretty good at keeping you occupied while you're trying to read&dodge mechanics
what does a rotation look like in WoW?
Au Ra pussy, steppe wife or samurai wife either is fine but no pajeet Au Ra
