As a quick heads up, you can't get certain items if you do walk in (e.g. certain coasters, a black-coat chef pikachu), but it's still a fun experience even if the food isn't great. Either way, have fun anon!
It's what I experienced. I had one reservation and was able to order a special Gengar coaster in advance. When I had a walk-in I tried to get the same coaster for a friend/asked about it and was told that I had to have pre-ordered it online.
Yeah, my bro and I had to wake up at 5am each day to try to book, since the reservations are for 1 month in advance. He managed to book us two reservations, I got none. We ended up canceling a reservation and going to our preferable one. The restaurant was about half full, so I bet if you tried walking in and waiting you might get a seat if a lot of people no show. But honestly, the food was okay, crazy over priced. We preordered the plushie when booking the reservation.

The swampert. It was sold out when I went last December. I was able to get a Typhlosion though so that was neat.
Not that anon, but go to the cafe in Osaka; it's easier to book and even if you can't get a reservation you can usually get a walk-in.
i checked osaka right afterwards and they were full too
