swsh didn't have a postgame, only dlc. it's on equal footing with RSE in the base form. SWSH took me 10 hours. everyone on this board said the same thing when it came out. i remember at least 20 hours by the hall of fame on RSE every playthrough.

There isn't a single playthrough of Swsh anywhere that's ten hours, and there is no dlc for rse, so no postgame whereas swsh does have dlc postgame option.
You are a massive fucking pile of cope sitting on a seven hour game and your best defense is to pretend a different game that is objectively minimum over twice as long and objectively has wayyyyyyy more postgame doesn't. It's actually really sad.

nah. there are just as many playthroughs on youtube clocking around 13 to 15 hours. i know what i played, that's how long it used to take me and i'm not the only one.
And even if we did pretend SWSH is shorter(it's not, RSE is very easy to beat in 7 hours) and had no postgame(literally two regions of content), why would that excuse ruby and sapphire for being seven hours long and having no postgame? Called "tu quoque" and the greeks figured out it's a brainlet way to argue over 2k years ago yet here you are
>considering that empty landmass in the dlc 2 regions

SWSH is dragged out by cutscenes and interruptions
>Blame sharty raids on Discord. Claim false responsibility for Discord threads. Mask all troll posts on /vp/ in a thick layer of ambiguity until the sharty becomes an omnipresent ur-boogeyman blamed for anything and everything.
Your tricks won't work on me, soicuck.
DPPT's Elite 4 need some grinding actually, you just don't notice it because the VS Seeker is so good for training. Emerald's issue is you have to use Gabby and Ty to grind.
I don't think Emerald needs a "legacy" version the way Crystal did.
Gen 2 were good games with mostly balance issues. Gen 3's balance is alright and it has more complicated problems.
All 386 Pokemon obtainable. (almost every non-legend available as wild encounters)
Fix all trade/multiplayer required trade evos to be done completely single player
Improve level up movesets for a ton of mons. they're garbage mostly
Buff stats of the ridiculous amount of shitmons added in Gen3 to push gimmicks. Same for the horribly under-stat'd mons added in Gen 2.
Every Gym Leader and E4 has 6 mons, all with held items.
Give player Key items that replace the HM functions
Nature mints, bottle caps, berries that reset EVs,
Switch Dark and Ghost attacking types (phys/spl)
Make it so the kinds of Wild Pokemon available increases based on how many badges you have.
EVERY Gym leader.
This is perfectly fine with changes like greatly expanded availability of Pokemon.
Pokemon doesn't need to keep fucking slow rolling the opening hours of every game.
All the games play the same and everyone knows what to expect.
Having 5 shitmons available early and slowly increasing as you go is lame.
brought up some good and obvious QoL improvements such as all Pokémon obtainable, single-player trade evos, IV and EV adjusters, harder boss battles, and HM key items.
Adjust encounters for a wider variety of Pokémon.
More double battles overall whether it's adding wild double battles or changing some trainers to have them battle in the format.
Give the Elite Four higher level teams for rematches.
Like in ORAS, have notable characters as opponents in Contests.
Add a way to reset contest conditions.
Have all e-reader content available. Bring back the day-night cycle.
Make Mirage Island and the Lilycove rooftop sale more accessible by having them appear during certain hours of the day.
Have the old guys and Pokémon Center ladies all encounterable without having to mix records.
Make all TMs and tutor moves reusable or reobtainable. Also include the Gen 3 tutor moves not found in Emerald. Add a Lucky Base filled with Chansey/Blissey in the postgame for EXP grinding. Add a superboss double battle vs Steven and Wallace after you defeat their postgame teams once.
What would my Pokemon team be in Hoenn? >I hate fairy type >i hate mawile >I hate Gardevoir >only pokemon anti-fairy type >pokemon resistant to fairy type >pokemon effective against the fairy type >I don't like torchic and I don't like treecko
Your starter is Mudkip.
You will play Emerald because Fairy-type doesn't exist in that game.
Your ORAS team could look like >Crobat >Aggron >Tentacruel >Magnezone >Weezing >Metagross
Manly. Toxic. Pumps iron.
Other options from the Hoenn dex include Dustox, Probopass, Vileplume, Roserade, Swalot, Muk, Skarmory, and Seviper.
mega evolutions for pokemon like mawile and sableye, don't include megas for pokemon that already have 3 evolutions without it and legendaries (starters, metagross, box legends, latis)
more diversity early on. the game is broken up into pre-slateport, pre-rock smash, pre-flannery, pre-surf, post-surf, post-T&L, pre-Elite 4, and post-elite 4 in terms of when you have access to new areas to find pokemon. replaying gen 3 is always hard for me because there's not a lot of appealing choices until you get access to surf, which is already 5 badges in.
As in what could have realistically been done in gen 3 already? Instead of optimizing the game for autistic romhackers.
Then the only thing Emerald are missing are >Day night cycle
The lack of it feels pretty off at this point in the series, and Emerald even has a RTC >E4 rematch
ORAS has it and it's weird you can rematch the gym leaders but not the E4 >Steven rematches
Again weird you can only battle him once
That's basically it. All other improvements in this thread are with the benefit of hindsight and after 20 years of the series improving and adding new QoL features, or outright fan-type shit like Smogon movesets and all Pokémon available. These three issues are realistically the only problems Emerald had from a game design perspective that could have been addressed in 2005 if they polished the game more before release.
Faraway/Birth/Navel islands for free like GS Ball event in GSC VC
Day/Night system
Heavy RNG events like shop sale and Mirage Island appear more often
A postgame region/islands like Sevii to explore more instead just a battle facility
E4 rematches and May's last battle
>What would you want to be added to an emerald legacy version
every Hoenn mon
Steven rematches and uses the Champion theme
Elite 4 and Champion level ups / postgame scaling and fully competitive sets
Set mode default
time and date mechanics no longer tied to internal battery
multiple save files
cloning glitch UNTOUCHED
all events and event-locked content, both released and unreleased, included in the base game, doable at any time desired (or at least during postgame); this includes the incorporation of event moves
remove all shiny locks
safari zone buffed with all remaining missing mons in the Emerald regional dex from the other regions
>And I want to play as the R/S versions of Brendan and May.
This is the only outfit customization we need. That and being able to swap to emerald colors anyway.
More than ten hours of gameplay and a real postgame
but enough about SWSH
sword and shield have around 30 hours of gameplay and a two whole regions of postgame.
RS have literally TEN hours of gameplay and NO postgame, and emerald adds a few buildings.
(You)
I accept your concession in the face of irrefutable facts.
is this opposite day? it's literally the opposite case.
I was actually being generous to RSE
>7 hours
>28 hours
and I don't know what world you're living in where you're saying RS has a postgame and SWSH don't. a world of pure denial and delusion.
swsh didn't have a postgame, only dlc. it's on equal footing with RSE in the base form. SWSH took me 10 hours. everyone on this board said the same thing when it came out. i remember at least 20 hours by the hall of fame on RSE every playthrough.

no shit Swoosh is going to take longer when you have NPCs constantly interrupting you to talk to you every 5 minutes.
Since when was Peter Griffin a monkey?

Rebalance the dex so I don't have to use Swampert, Metagross and Latios to beat the frontier in a timely manner
I was going to coompost about an extended sex scene with [character] but I can't remember any of the characters in this game
Extended sex scene with Absol!
Steven. In a Hoenn game, the answer is always Steven.
fix the level cap
they expect you to go from level 30-35 for Gym 8 to level 60 for the Elite Four. It's retarded
you're the one who's retarded if you need a stat advantage to beat a pokemon npc
going 30 levels in two hours of gameplay is moronic and bad game design. DPPt and BW does it actually right unlike every game prior
if you have to be higher than level 40s to beat pokemon emerald version i fear you might be retarded
you have never played emerald
cope
>trades to get another starter
>doesn't trade to evolve clamperl
Marge?
clamperl holding the deepseatooth is stronger than both of its evolutions
DPPT's Elite 4 need some grinding actually, you just don't notice it because the VS Seeker is so good for training. Emerald's issue is you have to use Gabby and Ty to grind.
My Pokemon were in their lv50s by Gym 8. What the fuck are you talking about?
>I suck at a kids' game so it should be easier
this is fucking embarrassing
>It’s time to “fix” Emerald now
Have nuzlockers gone too far
RSE are the worst mainline games, though I think ORAS did a reasonable job at making them fun.
>ORAS did a reasonable job at making them fun.
its the same shit except for the delta episode
It isn't a straight line unlike RSE and mauvilles much much better
>mauvilles much much better
have a nice day
they've had to rebrand it because it's not trendy to actually hate on hoenn like it is johto
I would make it so that if you're a youtube or a tranny then the game kills you if you try to play it
Initial Kanto Wonder Trade, so I can use more Kanto/Johto mons from the get go.
Or just scrap that and let me travel to those regions.
add victini! yay!
also remove the gay ass trading limitations ported over from frlg
I don't think Emerald needs a "legacy" version the way Crystal did.
Gen 2 were good games with mostly balance issues. Gen 3's balance is alright and it has more complicated problems.
honestly just brush up the evil teams rosters and rebalance the frontier
All 386 Pokemon obtainable. (almost every non-legend available as wild encounters)
Fix all trade/multiplayer required trade evos to be done completely single player
Improve level up movesets for a ton of mons. they're garbage mostly

Do this for rematches. Fuck you if you do this from the word go.
it should go
2
3
4
5
6
6
6
6
EVERY Gym leader.

Pokemon doesn't need to keep fucking slow rolling the opening hours of every game.
All the games play the same and everyone knows what to expect.
Having 5 shitmons available early and slowly increasing as you go is lame.
The games should open wide immediately.
no, that's shitty game design
You have no idea what you're talking about.
People who say simple shit like "that's shitty game design" are midwits
You're just wrong, but it isn't worth arguing, because you can think about why an rpg might want to limit player and enemy diversity early on
brought up some good and obvious QoL improvements such as all Pokémon obtainable, single-player trade evos, IV and EV adjusters, harder boss battles, and HM key items.

Rebalance the version-exclusive mons so they'l only appear in a certain day
just add the QoL from the modern games and emerald would be pretty much 10/10.
No mainline game from Gen 3 can be a 10/10 with that artstyle.
what's wrong with it? it was a massive upgrade from the previous gen
no way, gen 2 had the best artstyle
gen 3 overworld looks like complete shit
Mega Evolutions. Physical/Special split. Fixes to the Battle Frontier IV glitches (Dome, Factory).
gay sex
Kanto and Johto

Also I guess a Jirachi event should have been added, even if it's mystery gift exclusive.
give steven jirachi
Have Steven give you Jirachi.
Steven Stone sex scene

Day/Night system
Heavy RNG events like shop sale and Mirage Island appear more often
A postgame region/islands like Sevii to explore more instead just a battle facility
E4 rematches and May's last battle
Nothing, because it would be made by useless CUNTS that don't understand game design or what makes the original game good.
Fix the dumb repetitions from important trainer teams
Using previous gen mons or having them betray their types would be miles better than this
increase wingull and zigzagoon spawnrate
Need Peeko post-game fight
>What would you want to be added to an emerald legacy version

Put the contest halls back in the towns instead of the battle tents. Add more of them, I like the R/S contests.
And I want to play as the R/S versions of Brendan and May.
