Now, as someone who played the first day, about 3/4 of it, I can tell you it's a very generic game that does nothing special.
The combat is on par with Tomb Level on the 360, as in, approach most fights the same way.
The dialogue and VA was god awful, and I couldn't stand the writing and poorly directed delivery. 4 hours in, and I started skipping everything
Setting wise, it's good, probably its strongest point. The best compliment I can give it. It has a lot of varied location, green, white, brown, you name it.
Mecha-dinosoures are rad as hell, which is why it was such a let-down how little they behaved. They didn't feel that much different when compared to each other
Speed round!
Crafting, empty open-world, radiant missions, collecting recording, all very monotonous that plague triple-A games, then and now. They only exit to pad the game time.
If I'm not flying across the world at mach-5, dragging a civilian against the pavement, then hurling them at a helicopter, don't make open world games so big
Overall, it's a very bland game that does little new to stand out from the other open world games. A solid 5 or 6, a mostly forgettable experience.

If we're talking triple AAA ubisoft style open world yes. The krauts figured out how to make unique and belivable worlds that offer a sense of progression way back in 2001
Every modern open world is copying the ubisoft formula because it's so easy, effortless and brings a lot of money.
We will never see another game like Ultimate Destruction or Prototype, where traversing the world feels fun and satisfying.
The first one was fine, the story itself was kind of meh, and a lot of the characters weren't that great, but it had some nice little turns to it and the world it presented was really interesting.
The sequel decided to make an even worse story, and with it drag all of the actual nice things about it down with it. Now the only really good thing about it was the robot animal designs, and you should really just take them out of with and get no other context.

Nice visuals, lame story and characters, semi interesting premise, and slightly better combat than most other open world games, but besides that it's just a bog standard ass open world game. Since everyone likes to put it in a competition with BotW, I'll say BotW is the better game despite having worse visuals and shit combat because at the very least it made traversing the open world less annoying than most other open world games. After playing it, it really annoys me when you have some kind of point of interest up on a mountain and have to walk half a fucking mile to find the set climbing point to go up the damn thing instead of the game just letting you climb up wherever you want.

Also if it hadn't taken the Far Cry upgrade system, and the Far Cry map it could have been somewhat original, but it's one of the worst designed by comittee game there is. One aspect isolated (combat, general background) can be good but the rest is so safe that it ruins everything

I did. If it hasn't yellow paint Aloy can't climb a ledge. You have to do wonky jumps on some cliffs to go up and it's extremely janky. They wanted to use the Uncharted system to guide people and it just doesn't work in this setting. Especially a few days before BotW which shows that climbing everywhere is something that open world games could (and should) do.

I think its a money laundering scheme especially considering the existence of a sequel and apparently a series. At launch, NV was hated by normies for being a buggy desert and not being a "50s" theme park with a "deep story" like 3 was. Over the years the NV fanbase basically pushed back against this sentiment and proved them all wrong and that NV was in fact the better game. Eventually shitting on 3s poor story and world building became a really popular thing to do, and redditors naturally started band wagoning like they do and drove it into the ground with how obnoxious they are about it, which I believe is what kickstarted the "3 is better than NV" shitposts we see all the time because anything reddit likes is bad and anything they dislike is good.

I played both games, dlc and 100% all quests. And I'm not a dick rider or anything, but I preferred 3 over NV in ALMOST every way.
I liked how 3's world left large yet condensed. NV's world is too big and empty, which DUH, it's a desert. But 3 was set in a city, yet it was smaller
I liked the side character in 3 more as well. With the exception of the main cast, most of the NV crew is forgettable. Town of Dave, Harold the tree, the DLC with the slaves, Fawkes, Three Dog, the children ran underground, all of these stuck with me after finishing the game. The first time I saw Herbert Dash I almost lost it. I've been listening to this guy's adventures for 12 hours and here I am seeing him in the flesh.
The weapon variety, I'll give it to NV on this one. Having more ammo type was fun in my opinion
The branching path, even though it gave the illusion of choice, was still fun to explore
But as a plot drive and story, I liked 3's the most. You grow up with your dad, and he's suddenly gone. It give you motivation and attachment when compared to a mailman suddenly deciding the fate of an entire country

Arkham games, they're just great fun since there is so much hidden content within it and I always loved Conroy Batman. The story was great throughout the series and only Arkham Knight falls short. The arguments over whether Asylum or City are the best, I just loved Asylum for being more closed off and compact, while City I loved more. The remasters are dog shit and originals hold up so well, with Asylum models aging a little badly. Bamham combat is also fine, but Origins combat was buggy while Knight combat sucked quite a bit
