how
almost certainly a blood clot
>lost relative to a bloodclot from sitting on a long train ride
>become paranoid about it happening to me because I sit around playing vidya
This shit unironically made me so anxious that I bought a dumbell and force myself to do jumping jacks between matches
don't forget to hydrate
>>lost relative to a bloodclot from sitting on a long train ride
Sorry for your loss anon.
How old were they?
70, which was probably a bigger factor but I don't want to take the chance in case it's some underlying genetic heart problem
>70
Yeah that probably played a part. Could happen any time though, IIRC there was a Starcraft commentator that died of clots and he was in his 30s/40s. Good on you for trying to stay active during gaming though, most people are lazy homosexuals.
Probably a blood clot. Some frickers sit there for 18 hours never moving a muscle or even shifting in their chair. Ofc that fricker died
I used to do 12+ hour WoW sessions back in the day around wheb cata and pandaria was first out.
Now I do long ass sessions of Rimworld or other autism games.
This. I used to just sit there and veg but after reading about frickers dying from gaming I started drinking lots of water while playing for long periods. It forces you to get out of your chair to piss and refill a lot so you can move around a bit.
It was the vax
>2015
starfield lost
It happened in China. So you do the math.
19 hours isn't that long
it is when you don't take bathroom breaks or stand up to stretch
ive had goon sessions go longer than that
DVT is no joke
get up and move a little
>19 hour
what kind of amateur hour is that? I played wow for around 50 hours without sleeping once and I'm fine
>once
and it was probably when you were younger and your body could handle it too. i try to pull an all-nighter these days at almost 30 and i feel like death. knew a buddy whose brother died of a heart attack after chugging a bunch of caffeine to keep himself awake for work after one of those nights. dude just dropped dead behind the deli counter out of the blue.
>I asked for no pickles
That’s all I do on the weekends. I get up to eat and piss and jerk off but still
Longest I can remember being awake working on something was for 21 hours straight doing some 3D animation in Blender. Although I did stand up every so often and even went out on a 20 minutes walk to pick up some shit from the market so probably that countered any possible blood clots I might've been building up.
I mean, sitting continuously without getting up, using piss bottles/jugs, I think about 12 hours.
I've gone for over 30 before getting up and stretching every hour or two, going to piss, getting food, etc. So with the extra shit cut out it's probably more like 20.
I completed shadow of mordor in a single 15 hour sesh this year, but I could swear I've done longer.
Game sucks btw just play the sequel
19 hours. I had to stop doing that every day because the lack of sleep was fricking me up, and I started developing kidney stones.
36 hours in VRChat. Basically spent two days in vr, periodically recharging my controllers as I played.
Did you experience any psychological changes? That's the kind of shit that makes you dream that you're in VR
Shit I dream that I'm in VR from normal sessions.
When I first started I would wake up half asleep thinking I was stuck in VR and it was horrifying.
Don't know why...
CombatEX > EZ Shit Cholesterol
>19 hours
the weak get culled that's the way of life
Diablo 2 launch day. I don't recall any food or bathroom breaks. Played for a solid 20 hours. Nowadays can't even go 30 minutes in a game without a break.
i've been a gamer for 20 years but i'm not able to play longer than 4 hours
34 hours straight back in middle school with some friends. We played and beat ff3(6). Slept for a solid 16 hours that next day.
>March 5th, 2015
>halo 2 all nighter custom game super jump sesh
12 hours I think with Elden Ring
In college about 14 hours to get some shitty French plane from an event in War Thunder, my roommate wanted me to leave so he could frick some girl from one of his classes but by that point I was a being of pure unadulterated seethe and just yelled at them till she got mad and left, I played the plane 4 times.
was probably fat. being overweight drastically increases chances of cardiac events. if you want to degen games you need to balance it out with regular exercise and good nutrition.
most people don't even understand all the kinds of literal poison they're putting in their mouths on a daily basis
The very first time I played FFXI, I played for 36 hours straight. I dropped out of high school and put 15,000 hours into FFXI across 5 years, then put 3000 hours into TF2 across 2 years, and then I finally decided to re-enter society and get a job and go to the doctor, and everyone worriedly urged me to get an ultrasound on my legs and heart (or something on my heart, don't remember if it was an ultrasound), but both came up with nothing: they said I was the healthiest person they had seen in years.
how has your experience been re-entering society?
Literally nothing else about my life changed. There is no snowball effect. No positive feedback loop. People are kind, more than media and the Internet would have you believe, but they have their own lives and their own problems and you're just an extra in their movie. So whatever I was back when I was a NEET, I'm still that, except I have a job and get my annual physical. That's all.
Boomers ask me, "Isn't it nice having a job, though," and I tell them every time, "No, it sucks, my life was so much better when I was a NEET." But I can't do anything about it, I need money.
and this is the moment where I thank the heavens for being born in a nordic welfare country that provides for my needs and I don't have to work
Everquest epicing, 36hrs, wasn't tired but felt like it was a bad idea to keep going forward so slept.
Was either CSGO or Tarkov but it was 30+ hours
Right after high school I was a NEET and was super hardcore into WoW. I did nothing but play wow, usually 18-20 hours a day for 2 or 3. When the 2nd expansion came out, I played for 3 days straight without sleeping. I had almost everything you could get - Legendary weapon in the patch it was introduced, a server first achievement, gladiator, almost all in game mounts, almost all the achievements at the time. What a waste.
>What a waste
At least you had fun.
Some people waste their lives working for slave wages.
Wish I could get my late teens/early 20s back.
Various 40+ hour sessions on archeage when I was 16, all natty before I started drinking coffee.
I did the same in various MMOs, WoW included from 18-25. No regrets, was fun as frick.
Persona 3 100% social link run. Invited a friend over. I played on one TV he played different games on the other. Started from (near) the beginning and ended once I got all of them finished then we collapsed asleep.
over 1k days on cookie clicker
counterstrike back in 2002 for maybe 20 hours straight
I played Lego Batman for 20 hours straight when I was a kid. Don't think I will ever top that.
Around this time last year I spent about 25 hours almost uninterrupted playing Warframe. I was hanging in a call with a friend shortly before he went to bed, went to talk to another buddy, he logged off, I spent a good couple hours grinding whatever myself, then I hit up the first friend again and did some more grinding with him. At some point during the daytime I took maybe twenty minutes tops to walk to the store and buy lunch, plus toilet breaks throughout, but essentially I was just playing Warframe from when I woke up to when I eventually crashed.
The secret to gaming and avoiding blood clots is sitting on the floor legs level with your abdomen. Easy. Sitting on chairs is overrated
