I have both. Deck is better. Switch is still nice, though.
I can play Hades at 60fps on the Switch, I can play it at 90fps on the Deck on a bigger screen and super costomizable controls.

jokes on you troony, I paid someone to mod my Switch so I can play PSP games on it. The guilt free (for the sole purpose of moving my saves) emulation is a side bonus.
It took 6 months of nonstop high contrast to have any slightly noticeable changes and 18 months to be definitely noticeable. In normal operation it will last for years. The whole OLED burn out is by this point a total meme.

If you like starfield more power to you, I'm glad you did but it wasn't for me. If it's your thing then the game does have enough content to keep you going a long time. The backwards compatibilty is great
the switch 2 is probably worth more in terms of potential games, but I would not preorder it unless the games are worth it.
you could buy a gaming laptop for better specs, but the display and etc are compromised.
if you just want to play emulated games, you could just put the games onto your phone and get a controller with a clip that holds your phone (or get a controller made for phones).
I play my deck more. If you want to play new games it sucks. If you want to play indies, games from 2018 and before, and emulate shit then it's pretty good. If you want to do that but be handheld then it's pretty hard to beat because it's so much easier to setup and better supported with software than in the hobbyist tier alternatives that have better hardware.

decks tend to have dead pixels, IPS backlight bleed, sticky buttons, fan that rattles, suboptimal battery health, case shell parting, and joystick drift. you will RMA it and valve will give you a refurbished unit (aka another defective unit that they are hoping you won't realize is defective). you will RMA this one and this cycle will continue for a few months before you decide to try to repair the deck yourself.

but it's not super bad if you use an enema bulb or something, only other way I could do it is run it under the tub faucet which is a pain since it's so heavy and unwieldy
powdering it is an issue just because it's so large, and it seems like it's already got some of that TPE skin peeling going on
You can buy a veganal douche which would work fine, but running it under the tub faucet is your best bet, as thats more or less how its meant to be cleaned based on how it'd be done in japanese households.
For drying it, I imagine it shouldn't be impossible to do what you'd normally do for 99% of onaholes: just shove a paper towel all the way through it. If for whatever reason its too tight/deep for that, which I've only ever experienced with a e-girlnco, buy a drying sponge and a drying stick. These are two different things, but you want both.
I already have an enema bulb because I'm a gay, I tried using it instead of the tub and it worked pretty good and was also way less hassle because I can place it with the holes hanging over the sink and flush them out completely with no possibility of anything but water being left
I dry it the same way I dry every hole, microfiber on finger and then after a couple passes of that a drying stick, though I got some of those not diatom magic eyes drying sticks and since they're not as firm it's hard to get them in deep without bending them and I still feel like I'm ripping into the hole shoving sny type of stick in there, even feels like that with the microfiber cloth on my finger
the real issue is since it's so large I can't manipulate the other side and easily tell when I've reached the back of the hole with the stick or the cloth, and it's two completely separate holes so it's double the work to rinse and dry
that fat jiggly ass is so worth it though, cumming until I see stars while I press all my weight into it is so amazing, the internal skeleton it has makes it really feel like I'm fricking something else instead of just jerking off with something squishy, it like resists you and you have to wrangle it and the tummy is firm and it's just so good
If you can get all the way in to the back chamber with your finger and cloth/paper towel you shouldn't need to also use a drying stick. If you're unsure if its properly dry just stick your bare finger in there all the way to the back and feel for any residual wetness. The "lips" of the back chamber/uterus is usually the most common culprit. If that happens just stick your cloth/paper towel back in again.
I have a regular DX thats been standing the test of time and dick, and with the flush hole being available its always been a breeze.

My understanding is that size is the only real difference and that the tunnels are more or less the same.

This is correct yes, but this is why I recommend drying sponges, as those DO soak up most of the moisture and can be used in conjunction with a stick.

kiwami has two completely separate tunnels, is obviously much bigger and heavier, has that internal skeleton which is really a game changer in terms of how it feels and what you can do with it, and the padded ass is so fricking awesome, I was having fun just slapping and gripping the thing and having it press into you while you're inside it is unreal

If I’m playing a game that runs better on the deck like any multiplatform AA or AAA game, then deck is the obvious choice.
If I’m playing something that runs about the same on both like Shantae or something I go with the switch lite for better battery and pocketability
It's cheaper and runs most games better because some companies optimize their steam releases specifically for the deck. It punches above it's weight class as far as price is concerned even for people that use it as a desktop.

Nah. It's because, for some reason, despite being straight-up better on paper, the 7840U (ROG Ally, Legion GO...) sucks at lower TDPs compared to Van Gogh, Deck's APU.
Is it because of Windows 11? What if you install W10 LTSC or some lightweight Linux distro? What if you disable SMT? What if you disable half the cores, so it's 4C/8T like the Deck? I wish someone tested these scenarios, because the ROG Ally should never perform worse than the Deck. And yet, at 10W or lower, it does. It doesn't make any sense.

I like the Deck more, but it's mostly the fact there's so much for it. The Switch was just constantly hoping games would be ported and then having to spend a high amount to play a prune down version of the game. With the deck, you still play compromised versions of newer games but it it's cheap and I can always play the same game with the same save on my rig that can handle the higher settings

Not how it works dude. Windows was way more open than a console, but it was still microsoft's walled garden. Linux does not have that problem. The original deck will still be getting games and support long after the deck 2 and beyond comes out, unlike consoles who get left to rot, often with your library stuck on them, especially in nintendo's case.

This is what makes or breaks the Deck, in my opinion. I personally find myself in bed a lot so having the Deck on hand to play games has increased my playtime significantly. I've got so many smaller games in my Steam Library over the years that I just never got around to that I am now enjoying to the fullest. But again, that's just my personal situation. If you don't find yourself with that kind of free time that you wouldn't already spend in front of a gaming PC, then it's not really worth the investment.
You can buy GOG games, save them on an USB stick and install them on your Steam deck. Same shit as Carts basically. The Switch is ancient at this point and the gaming expierence is miserable.
It's not even a fair comparison, a laptop with a console form factor vs a walled garden console, but...
Deck > Switch:
- Alternative storefronts, lutris.
- Control remapping, community layouts
- Can backup my saves to external storage (this is the thing that pisses me off badly on switch)
- Free Cloud saves (when they work and shit does not happen, like an undetected conflict overwriting a save)
- More confortable to hold
- Retroarch shaders instead of the crappy virtual console filters
To be fair Switch, has a few advantages:
- The dock always works
- No need to open the entire device if controllers need repairs
- Purchased digital games don't require me to go online after some time to keep playing.
- Entering text in a game with a virtual keyboard is not a terrible experience (a bit unfair since games in deck were not designed for it)
- The smaller size and weight matter when the backpack is already filled with a 15.6" laptop and textbooks.
- Splatoon 3.

Yeah I would say that's definitely the biggest downside. It doesn't affect me that much since I'm rarely without an outlet, but I'd say the battery life is the biggest improvement in the oled and the real reason to buy it if you want that better portability. Honestly the screen itself is overhyped. Even when you're comparing them side by side in person there's barely a difference unless the game is really saturated and colorful or has a lot of pitch black areas, I was a bit letdown by that, got fooled by the shitposting webms and a certain fanbase swearing up and down how games aren't worth playing anymore unless it's oled.
I use switch more because it has better portability and controller placement, but the steam deck is more powerful and has a bigger library with more customization.
I like both, even if I never use my steam deck.

I don't own a deck, I do own a hacked OLED switch though, I use it for piracy, reading mangas, watching videos sometimes, some emulation, and a lot of moonlight
I'm not sure if a deck would be better for me, there's no question that the deck is a more capable and flexible device, but the switch is extremely comfy for the way I use it, the only problem with it is the placement of the charging port means I can't have it sitting upright on it's kickstand while charging, which might be nice sometimes, but I can probably solve that problem with an ultra low profile 90 degree adaptor
An added benefit of the switch is that I can take it away on holiday for Mario Kart and the like

I have both and they each have their own strengths and weaknesses. Switch is underpowered and can mostly only play Nintendo and 3rd party games, but it's truly portable and comfy to play with in bed especially the lite version.
Steam deck is basically a mini laptop with a better form factor and that's more portable so I can play a lot more including PC games, but it's a fricking brick and not so comfortable to game in bed with.
Deck but it's not really a fair comparison when it came out like 10 years later. There will be less time between the Switch 2 and the Deck by the time it releases than the Switch and the Deck.
If the Deck came out at the same time as the Switch then the only real benefits would have been emulation and greater range of playable indies. And even then, emulation wouldn't have been as good back then as now for systems like PS2 and Xbox. Plus there would have been no Switch emulation.

In the first case it would've been terrible: Intel made good CPUs but shitty GPUs, AMD the other way around. And AMD GPUs weren't THAT great either, Nvidia was miles ahead at the time... but they made no x86 CPUs at all, which are kinda required for PC gaming.
In the second case, it would've been a miracle. A $400 handheld that was faster than the shitty 750Ti / 960 + random i5 computer a ton of people used at the time? Forget handheld gaming, people would buy Steam Decks left and right as desktop replacements.
Of course the second case would be impossible, considering AMD introduced Zen 2 and RDNA2 in 2019 and 2020 respectively. In theory, if Valve worked closely with AMD like Sony and Microsoft did for their consoles, they could've launched the Steam Deck in late 2020 at best.
If the deck came out at the same time as the switch the switch would've been bombarded with comparisons and lost a lot more of its sales to the deck. It benefited massively from being the only handheld on the market at the time.

Reading more here, it seems that Nintendo gives itself the right to remove any license it has "rented" to you. Basically, Switch users don't own their games. That goes for owners of both physical and digital games.

I play my deck more. If you want to play new games it sucks. If you want to play indies, games from 2018 and before, and emulate shit then it's pretty good. If you want to do that but be handheld then it's pretty hard to beat because it's so much easier to setup and better supported with software than in the hobbyist tier alternatives that have better hardware.

Easy to clean/dry?
decks tend to have dead pixels, IPS backlight bleed, sticky buttons, fan that rattles, suboptimal battery health, case shell parting, and joystick drift. you will RMA it and valve will give you a refurbished unit (aka another defective unit that they are hoping you won't realize is defective). you will RMA this one and this cycle will continue for a few months before you decide to try to repair the deck yourself.

but it's not super bad if you use an enema bulb or something, only other way I could do it is run it under the tub faucet which is a pain since it's so heavy and unwieldy
powdering it is an issue just because it's so large, and it seems like it's already got some of that TPE skin peeling going on
You can buy a veganal douche which would work fine, but running it under the tub faucet is your best bet, as thats more or less how its meant to be cleaned based on how it'd be done in japanese households.
For drying it, I imagine it shouldn't be impossible to do what you'd normally do for 99% of onaholes: just shove a paper towel all the way through it. If for whatever reason its too tight/deep for that, which I've only ever experienced with a e-girlnco, buy a drying sponge and a drying stick. These are two different things, but you want both.
I already have an enema bulb because I'm a gay, I tried using it instead of the tub and it worked pretty good and was also way less hassle because I can place it with the holes hanging over the sink and flush them out completely with no possibility of anything but water being left
I dry it the same way I dry every hole, microfiber on finger and then after a couple passes of that a drying stick, though I got some of those not diatom magic eyes drying sticks and since they're not as firm it's hard to get them in deep without bending them and I still feel like I'm ripping into the hole shoving sny type of stick in there, even feels like that with the microfiber cloth on my finger
the real issue is since it's so large I can't manipulate the other side and easily tell when I've reached the back of the hole with the stick or the cloth, and it's two completely separate holes so it's double the work to rinse and dry
that fat jiggly ass is so worth it though, cumming until I see stars while I press all my weight into it is so amazing, the internal skeleton it has makes it really feel like I'm fricking something else instead of just jerking off with something squishy, it like resists you and you have to wrangle it and the tummy is firm and it's just so good
If you can get all the way in to the back chamber with your finger and cloth/paper towel you shouldn't need to also use a drying stick. If you're unsure if its properly dry just stick your bare finger in there all the way to the back and feel for any residual wetness. The "lips" of the back chamber/uterus is usually the most common culprit. If that happens just stick your cloth/paper towel back in again.
My understanding is that size is the only real difference and that the tunnels are more or less the same.
even if I get all the way in the back with a microfiber on any of my holes there's still residual moisture, it's what I always use the sticks for and that's how they're supposed to be used from my understanding, just to suck up anything left behind, you're not supposed to use sticks as your main drying source
If there's residual moisture even after hitting it with a dry cloth multiple times your cloth may just not be absorbent enough. You might want to try some paper towels instead and see if that makes a difference (get strong ones).

This is correct yes, but this is why I recommend drying sponges, as those DO soak up most of the moisture and can be used in conjunction with a stick.
This got me to check and yeah, the DX is open ended, but the Kiwami is not. They also do have very different tunnels apparently.

Is it because of Windows 11? What if you install W10 LTSC or some lightweight Linux distro? What if you disable SMT? What if you disable half the cores, so it's 4C/8T like the Deck? The original deck will still be getting games and support long after the deck 2 and beyond comes out, unlike consoles who get left to rot, often with your library stuck on them, especially in nintendo's case.

This is what makes or breaks the Deck, in my opinion. I personally find myself in bed a lot so having the Deck on hand to play games has increased my playtime significantly. I've got so many smaller games in my Steam Library over the years that I just never got around to that I am now enjoying to the fullest. But again, that's just my personal situation. If you don't find yourself with that kind of free time that you wouldn't already spend in front of a gaming PC, then it's not really worth the investment.

- Can backup my saves to external storage (this is the thing that pisses me off badly on switch)
- Free Cloud saves (when they work and shit does not happen, like an undetected conflict overwriting a save)
- More confortable to hold
- Retroarch shaders instead of the crappy virtual console filters
To be fair Switch, has a few advantages:
- The dock always works
- No need to open the entire device if controllers need repairs
- Purchased digital games don't require me to go online after some time to keep playing.
- Entering text in a game with a virtual keyboard is not a terrible experience (a bit unfair since games in deck were not designed for it)
- The smaller size and weight matter when the backpack is already filled with a 15.6" laptop and textbooks.

Yeah I would say that's definitely the biggest downside. It doesn't affect me that much since I'm rarely without an outlet, but I'd say the battery life is the biggest improvement in the oled and the real reason to buy it if you want that better portability. Honestly the screen itself is overhyped. Even when you're comparing them side by side in person there's barely a difference unless the game is really saturated and colorful or has a lot of pitch black areas, I was a bit letdown by that, got fooled by the shitposting webms and a certain fanbase swearing up and down how games aren't worth playing anymore unless it's oled.
I use switch more because it has better portability and controller placement, but the steam deck is more powerful and has a bigger library with more customization.
I like both, even if I never use my steam deck.

I don't own a deck, I do own a hacked OLED switch though, I use it for piracy, reading mangas, watching videos sometimes, some emulation, and a lot of moonlight
I'm not sure if a deck would be better for me, there's no question that the deck is a more capable and flexible device, but the switch is extremely comfy for the way I use it, the only problem with it is the placement of the charging port means I can't have it sitting upright on it's kickstand while charging, which might be nice sometimes, but I can probably solve that problem with an ultra low profile 90 degree adaptor
An added benefit of the switch is that I can take it away on holiday for Mario Kart and the like

I have both and they each have their own strengths and weaknesses. Switch is underpowered and can mostly only play Nintendo and 3rd party games, but it's truly portable and comfy to play with in bed especially the lite version.
Steam deck is basically a mini laptop with a better form factor and that's more portable so I can play a lot more including PC games, but it's a fricking brick and not so comfortable to game in bed with.
Deck but it's not really a fair comparison when it came out like 10 years later. There will be less time between the Switch 2 and the Deck by the time it releases than the Switch and the Deck.
If the Deck came out before Switch it'd be better all the same, Switch can't compete with an input-rich PC.

In the first case it would've been terrible: Intel made good CPUs but shitty GPUs, AMD the other way around. And AMD GPUs weren't THAT great either, Nvidia was miles ahead at the time... but they made no x86 CPUs at all, which are kinda required for PC gaming.
In the second case, it would've been a miracle. A $400 handheld that was faster than the shitty 750Ti / 960 + random i5 computer a ton of people used at the time? Forget handheld gaming, people would buy Steam Decks left and right as desktop replacements.
Of course the second case would be impossible, considering AMD introduced Zen 2 and RDNA2 in 2019 and 2020 respectively. In theory, if Valve worked closely with AMD like Sony and Microsoft did for their consoles, they could've launched the Steam Deck in late 2020 at best.
If the deck came out at the same time as the switch the switch would've been bombarded with comparisons and lost a lot more of its sales to the deck. It benefited massively from being the only handheld on the market at the time.

Steam Deck is superior for the simple reason that you can do whatever you want with your own hardware without having to solder anything onto the motherboard to get around the manufacturer's restrictions.
In practice, this means that you can play any emulator, instead of having to wait for Nintendo to offer you two new ROMs every 4 months (if you pay NSO). And that goes for every other possible type of experience.
But there's one thing: both have a drift problem with the analog sticks, and because of that nobody should buy either of them. My Switch is unplayable in handheld mode because both joycons are completely unusable.

You can configure Steam to work offline. You'll have to update all the games you have installed before you can do this. And the games can't have other types of DRM that require Internet (if you're smart, you already avoid these games). That's it.
If you want another solution, which is also completely legal, you can emulate or use wrappers for Steamworks. Most of these solutions are open source.

Basically they're saying: "when you buy a game, you're not buying the rights to the software itself". The non-exclusive license is where the copyright owner allows you to use the software, but you can't profit from it.
In other words, buying a Super Mario game doesn't give you the right to exploit the "Super Mario" brand.
Reading more here, it seems that Nintendo gives itself the right to remove any license it has "rented" to you. Basically, Switch users don't own their games. That goes for owners of both physical and digital games.

The steam deck is awesome but it really needs to be just a bit smaller and more ergonomic. I find it subpar for playing in bed holding above me and i would really prefer the switch stick layout. I dont have an oled deck so I wont comment on battery life.
Really hoping gen 2 of the steam deck brings a micro version that is basically switch sized or smaller and I have that the switch 2 brings way more power to the table
