The entire 2019 series was balls to the wall moronic and everyone's "development" was just magically getting stronger or weaker offscreen for no reason.

As someone who doesn't watch the anime at all, I think she's god damn adorable. Shame about her awful fans though.
In games she's good, arguably better with the white versions since you challenge her as a gym leader. But she does a good job encapsulating the theme of the next generation taking up the mantle for the previous one that's in a lot of shonen based media.
in the anime they really botched it, I didn't watch much of BW but she was just there, after two generations of female protagonists going out for a goal it's weird to have one just traveling with Ash just because again, and then they suddenly give her the champion title after a decade plus of not being on the show and to add insult to injury just completely shit all over that point I made about her game counterpart's arc by using her to job to Cynthia. They really should've just had Alder keep the champion title for the tournament and give him the arc about these battles being his swan song rather than trying to play off Cynthia as being the one looking to retire(again after using her to squash the hopes of the next generation by wrecking Iris).

I'm a unovagay and I really enjoyed battling against Iris. But I'm no Irisgay not even close. Cythina wasn't bad either but her difficulty is greatly exaggerated. I get it, she's the first female champion. But I don't understand why we can't discuss other champions without some drone comparing them to Cynthia. It's fricking annoying.

The BW series as a whole was trash. Ash became aged down and less competent, Cilan was meh, and they replaced Pikachu's thunderbolt with electroball, which isn't even as good as thunderbolt in the games. I didn't like Iris that much at the time, but if I watched it again, I might like her as much as the other companions.

Unless I'm mistaking the thread, the post you're talking about happened 40 seconds after the thread was made which it would/should have made it impossible to have been from the same IP. Either way I think the voregay directly calling people coomers within their own posts featuring those pictures is evidence enough that he doesn't have any particular allegiance to any pokegirl

I'll start with Cynthiagays. Essentially it's the same reason they hate Leongays. While Leon is a threat to Cynthia's title as the "strongest Champion", Iris is the only other prominent female Champion. Nobody gives a shit about Diantha (nor does the anime team just by looking at the PWC) and Getta is the same.
Iris would be in the same position if not being the starring heroine of her own series and her voice actresses raising to mega star fame since Best Wishes. She's not more popular than Cynthia in the fandom in general but more identified when it comes to the anime. There was a reason why they payed her actresses big bucks to pay one of the most hated characters. So in short Cynthiagays can't handle another female Champion that didn't fade into the background.
Ashgays feel robbed. Imagine watching a character take about 7 or so series to become Champion and then anther series to become amongst the strongest in the world and another character pops up and goes "easy peasy" in the next two episodes she appears in? Iris got everything people wanted Ash to have with less than half the struggle or time taken.
Ultimately her rise to Championship didn't much sense but when you take into the narrative reason why it happened (Alder's voice actor not being available) and Iris' voice actor being a big name willing to return, it makes sense. Just like narrative wise Cynthia had to win. Not because she necessarily be stronger than Iris but because she and Leon as the star of generation Eight, had to fight Ash. That's literally the reason but it's better arguing who's strongest I guess when all of this is narrative.
Diantha is probably more popular than Iris nowadays. Especially after she defeated Lance.
