Gotta love you were specifically requested to come help solve it, solve the dispute, get told you have nothing to do with it, and so you must go because you did nothing but help.
if the writers had displayed such ability anywhere else in the game id say it was the perfect bait to get the player to go full genocide dark evil- but it was quite literally just a shit callback.

>she gets unceremoniously rekt by the enclave in a random encounter and you can't save her
You CAN save her, but she just runs away from you screaming for you to stay away from her.

This is the dumbest part of the whole quest. A high speech check should convinced her to let you stay, even more so if you had good karma. They just want their stupid homage to Fallout 1 without thinking it through.

Yeah, vault 101 opens up multiple times, sends out a few expeditions, lets in James and his newborn muttoid child, then the overseer shids and fards and cums in his pant, becomes moronic and psychotic because radroaches in the walls told him free water for wasteland Black folk is a waste of time.

Rad roaches had been coming into the vault for a while because it was in total disarray and falling apart. You literally fricking shoot one at 10 years old and they know what it is. Hell even the one guy asks you to save his mother from a rad roach, people know the place is run down but act like nothing is wrong because they don't want the overseer to shit on them and send them to the lower levels for cleanup.

Gee maybe Bethesda didn’t expect you to not kill all those guards while you escaped, you didn’t kill those guards right? Because what kind animal expects to be let back in the gated community after killing their guards.
>things go wrong >immediately become a cold hard killer
Nah, man >sneak past >use fist to knock down the guards and run past them >just run like mad because you're freaking out over your entire life falling to pieces
The issue is that the quest only makes sense if you don't kill her dad in the prologue, then kill her dad in the quest
Dumb ass Bethesda gave you multiple options in a quest that only makes sense in one specific way.
It has the exact same problem as the main quest. They were so committed to it ending with a FO1 reference that they didn't stop and ask, 'Does this make sense?' Just like they were so committed to the LW sacrificing himself in the main quest.
Fallout 3 has the most theme park open world in any video game ever. Oasis, the vampire quest, the superhero quest, etc. etc. are all set in settlements with hardly any relation to any of the others and the completion of the one (1) quest associated with each of those places has no impact on the rest of the wasteland. The one and only exception, not counting Megaton or Rivet City (incidentally though those places by themselves are theme park-y as frick) is Tenpenny Tower.
If fo3 was written by obsidian you could romance her if you don’t kill her father and give her the gun in the beginning and there’d be an ending slide where the lone wanderer would have a family with her.

FO4 had a lot of immersion breaking situations like this, I remember particularly in regards to power armor. You walk up in like a full suit of T65 with a minigun, and some bandit in rags is threatening you.
It wouldn't be such an issue, if Bethesda didn't specifically highlight it by having many such characters make a remark that you're wearing power armor, yet they don't say or do anything different because of it.
I always blow up the vault ventilation system with Butch, then raise my karma to neutral by giving bums water so I can recruit him on my evil adventures in murder, drugs and cannibalism.
I'm guessing the lone wanderer being a dangerous killer who could blow up the vault if he lost his shit has something to do with it.
>show up to vault with his wife, she dies giving birth to a son
>he abruptly leaves the vault creating chaos that leads to multiple people getting killed, including his close friend, roaches infesting the vault, a robot sawing a person's leg off & the overseer trying to kill hid son
>son escapes finds him
>lectures son about how he should've stayed in the vault to be murdered by the overseer for his reckless actions
>son can't call him out for any of his actions
What did emil mean by this?
>kills himself as final act
Lmao he was desperate to get out of those payments
