nobody loves skyrim for gameplay
it's all because it's easy to mod for porn and youtube bait
and yes, majority of people who play skyrim are those who mod the frick out of it. consolecucks are irrelevant
ghost trick doesn't qualify as VN, it's a puzzle / adventure game
You can argue a bit more about Ace Attorney, still it has way too much gampley to be considered an interactive book
Very butchered adaptation of the tabletop ruleset with rtwp combat that doesn't even have collisions, but the environment and character design is 10/10
I played it ages ago and i only remember liking how they implemented the system, despite being clunky they were trying something different somwhat succesfully, so i guess it counts as not bad gameplay
Everythign else was kinda meh
>technically VTMB
Even melee is not as bad as morons who haven't read the manual believe to be. Combat is definitely weak in the game but it's not shit. Also in an RPG gameplay doesn't have to be limited to just combat.
overwatch, apex legends, league of legends, halo past 3, fable past 2, NRS mortal kombat, dungeon fighter online, sonic games that dont have the word adventure in the title
Yes. The controls aren’t that bad and the sight jacking is interesting but some of the objectives are way too obtuse, to the point where you need a guide if you want to 100% the game. The sequel isn’t as bad when it comes to that but I prefer the setting of the first game
W3 has great characters but the main story is pretty stupid and it doesn't handle them well
the White Frost and all the northern kingdoms stuff with Djikstra was stupid
I think the political plotlines were good, just not handled well. Geralt is notably bad at retaining neutrality, and as Vesimir said, whether the Witchers like it or not, supporting Temeria was in the best interest of their survival.
But then you have the added part where it's a side story that's competing for your attention with the main story rather than adding to it, and the Djikstra makes a brazenly stupid move for a character that's supposed to be one of the smartest in the games with no fall back other than "my crippled ass will just have to kill the Witcher!"
It's unfocused and at times forced, but the elements all going into it were very good.
Labyrinth of of Refrain/Galleria are some of the biggest slogs in Dungeon Crawler history with the story and characters being the only reason to struggle through it.
Persona 2
I really wanted to get into P2, I really did. But the gameplay had not aged well. I want to experience the story and characters, but I just can't get into the combat either
Fricking Atlus. Rather than remaking P3, which plays more than fine, till this day, they should've remade P2
There isn't a single video game on the planet that encompasses that more than Fragile Dreams for the Wii. Such a damn good game; especially if you do the entire bell sidequest.
>played this entire game in japanese not being able to comprehend what is said half the time >Absolute soul environments and gameplay was somewhat interesting and endearing >will never experience this level of soul again now that we are in the le super realistic troonyfaced ugly women mc era
Rdr2
>rdr2
>great story
>great characters
>What's her name Ganker?
Skyrim
>Skyrim
>great characters

This
Kek mad contrarian
Skyrim's gameplay is widely beloved, so YOU'RE the contrarian for claiming it's bad.

But Ghost Trick is amazing.
ghost trick doesn't qualify as VN, it's a puzzle / adventure game

>cuts her hair
>has relationships with women and sex with men
>*comfort her*
Why couldn't she have her own sub-route? We could have fixed her...
Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Fighting mechanics are moronic
Drakensang/River of Time
Very butchered adaptation of the tabletop ruleset with rtwp combat that doesn't even have collisions, but the environment and character design is 10/10
I know nothing about the tabletop but I wouldn't say those games have shit gameplay. I mean, it's not amazing gameplay but it mostly works fine.
I played it ages ago and i only remember liking how they implemented the system, despite being clunky they were trying something different somwhat succesfully, so i guess it counts as not bad gameplay
Everythign else was kinda meh
yakuza
That's like the opposite
technically VTMB, also probably ffxvi
>technically VTMB

Legacy of Kain games are the definition of this.
blood omen had decent gameplay for what it was
LoK games have alright gameplay, though. It's just not amazing.

Forbidden Siren
You mean Siren 1 and 2?
Yes. The controls aren’t that bad and the sight jacking is interesting but some of the objectives are way too obtuse, to the point where you need a guide if you want to 100% the game. The sequel isn’t as bad when it comes to that but I prefer the setting of the first game
drakengard is this but will smith is a tank and chris rock is a biscuit
This I guess? I mean the actions with the right stick were annoying and they didn't even let you run unless there was an action scene. Frick's sake.
Yea I’d say this is a pretty good answer, I actively enjoyed this little CYOA, but QTEs are something I hate for years now.

Totk and botw
Labyrinth of of Refrain/Galleria are some of the biggest slogs in Dungeon Crawler history with the story and characters being the only reason to struggle through it.
Galleria's gameplay is not that bad for the most part. Frick the randomly generated dungeons though, those are trash and can frick right off.
Easy
We seriously need a remake of Drakengard 1 and 3
persona 2
generic meme answer
>frogpost
Even frogtards can be right once in a while. Combat in Deus Ex is serviceable.
it really isn't though
Skill issue.
more of a design issue, but you knew that.
This games design is by far the most remarkable thing about it
certified tasteless shit moment
>t. finished it 12 times
You don't think Deus Ex has great characters, story and music?
Nah
Its all prefect
haha that's a good one!
2004 take
get on with the times gramps the gameplay aged like vinegar even though its outstanding in other aspects like storytelling
>it has no quest markers and fast travel so all I can manage is confused zoom-zoom noises
LMAO
Definitely not gothic. The gameplay is fire
No Straight Roads
Dark Souls 1 and 2
Diablo 4
planescape torment...kinda, the roleplaying is great but obviously the combat is garbage
Prince of Persia 2008
Seiken Densetsu 1 / Final Fantasy Adventure
Persona 2
I really wanted to get into P2, I really did. But the gameplay had not aged well. I want to experience the story and characters, but I just can't get into the combat either

We thought they were being stupid by not bringing FES to modern platforms and PC, but they knew exactly what they were doing.
Lobotomy Corporation. I'll suck PMs dick all day but I won't pretend LC has good gameplay, even if the suffering is the point.
Black Isle's Fallout games
Nier Replicant
Silent hill 2
Mafia 3
