I've read a couple different manga either by yoko or attached to him or his stuff and they've all been fricking awful. Absolute fricking dreck. Completely shattered any concept for me that he's not just riding off immense lore dumps, multiverse timeline homosexualry with some genuinely great music to make you think anything intelligent or impactful is going on.
True, I've checked all his previous works and its all the exact same as nier automata except with a few slight differences.

That's because Yoko Taro didn't create Drakengard and he didn't write much of it either.
The real creators were Takamasa Shiba and Takuya Iwasaki and the main writer was Sawako Natori, which also wrote (at least in part) Drakengard 2.
Yoko Taro was only appointed as director of Drakengard 1 because Iwasaki was too busy for that part and Taro had not much involvement in the game (he didn't even create Caim or the main route of the game).
I forgot to add that Sawako Natori also wrote the story of Nier and Drakengard 3 but not Automata, which explains why Automata is worse storywise than the others.

I don't like how they made taro out to be some steven spielberg name. The games he was involved in were quirky and was a different experience which is why they got a following. After automata too many newbies like to delude themselves that the drakengard games were good.
