Try to dislocate your lips from Yoshida's butthole for a second
800k is concurrent players not sold copies, not all players are gonna be playing at the same time at launch. BG3 already sold 2.5 M in early access when it used to not even reach 100k concurrent, now its at 800k, do the math.
Meanwhile FF16 is at 3 million sold and SHIPPED and is selling less than 7 remake and 15 in the same time frame!

Why are Yoshi apologists so god damn stupid? Did all those years playing a formulaic, low effort MMO melt your brain?

Bullshit. Squeenix WANTED Eidos and Crystal to fail at every possible turn by forcing them to crank out shitty designed by committee Tomb Raider schlock, DbC Th4f shit that somehow sold like aids in a child cancer ward in a day and age where Kojimbo proved that the average Walmart grade consumer will gargle the dick sweat of any game given enough of a marketing budget, and Marvel which is entirely self explanatory.
Even Hitman 3 which did well in SPITE of Squeenix's frickery, wasn't good enough for them. They were the unacceptable truth the squints on the board couldn't swallow. That Squeenix doesn't know how to make games, let alone games that sell to a western audience, and bringing in western developers to entice western investors isn't going to hide the fact that even the blind, deaf, and stupid could see this by the critical reception, or rather, lack there of, of KH3.
They weren't sold off because they were unprofitable, if that were the case, Squeenix would have sold off half its Eastern division to Tencent. Instead they're forcing developers to make biweekly trips to the blood bank to keep the lights on. They were sold off because the heart of Squeenix is willing to damn itself to death, if only to survive for another five minutes.

Oh, there's the beautiful/horrible part though. They can't. They, and the suits heading the company now, have made their fame on high-budget spectacles all the way back to the FMV fest of FF7. Backtracking on that is admitting they're shit. It's stereotypical Japanese face-saving cranked up to 11; they've gone so far there is no turning back. Shifting away from that will require upper management being nuked from orbit, and anyone's guess who will be made the biggest scapegoat. Frankly it's no different than the business with the FF movie, they never learn their lesson and company has painted itself into a corner. Again.

The first chart you posted, was end dated 30/06/2023, while the release of FF16 was 23/06/2023. I'm not sure how he won at all XVI is literally most of the revenue for that quarter. The last quarter of there FY2023 financials literally was one of their worst in some time with a AAA launch in Forspoken whilst XVI this is the highest Q1 in two years.
Considering FFXVI sold well enough according to SE and that it had a pretty good reception, I'm expecting this in the future >FFXIV gets a collab with FFXVI that overall teases the next FF mainline entry >FFXVI-2 happens, it takes place in the future where Clive son is the protagonist. Clive and Jill are also dead because of some illness or died trying to protect their son >Another FFXIV collab >FFXVI-3 happens, which focuses on a minor character that appears in FFXVI-2 as they're actually royalty and must save their own respective homeland >FFXVII finally happens, which is basically a huge love to FF1-FF6 or FF12, which has offline MMO combat akin to Xenoblade or a puzzle action game
It's misleading on both because the views are spread out over the livestreams, twitch broadcast, individual stream parties and trailers in individual languages. JP watches JP trailer for example.
Amusement-chads continue to dominate.
More seriously, Rebirth is going to pull their ass out of the fire and then they will make another set of trash games.

He was thinking that his rabid, delusional fanboys would sell the game for him. Little did he know that nobody pays attention to/values what MMOgays have to say about anything.

Literally ever post expac launch has seen a downtrend I'm not really sure there's anything really to grasp don't let your bias cloud you bro, DT arguably has more interest going into it that EW.
>What is it with SE's financials that does this to this board it's quite insane.
https://www.famitsu.com/news/202206/22265843.html >Yoshida: We have spent a considerable amount of money on the development of the "FF" series, so it is very important for the company to make a profit. If the sales of the series were to decline rapidly, we would not be able to produce another game. That is why we need to make people of all ages and all types of people think, "This looks like a great game," and "I want to buy it and play it," before they even know if it is part of a series or not.
Considering FF needs to be a success based on his own words, then he drops a mega bomb, the future of the series outside of spinoffs and remakes is up in the air right now.
I think it's because most of the big-budget games S-E has pumped out over the last 15 years or so have been disappointments and people are sort of hoping that enough high-profile fizzles would drag them back to more traditional, small-scaled projects.
They do small scale projects all the time I hope people don't honestly think FF is ever going to become Xenoblade tier budget wise. It's premium factor is like part of the appeal of it in the JRPG space whether people want to admit it or not.
Why can't Square Enix just fricking thing to one thing for FF?
Nobody has any idea what FFXVII is going to be like because of how damn schizophrenic this series is.
It's telling that their most successful FF yet only became a success because they actually stuck with it for years.

I hope they send the resources to the mobile games. Shit's the only thing that really makes any money.
So you don't play any games, but want threads that talk about games gone from a game board.
Here's an idea, download GankerX, wordfilter those threads and there you go you'll never see them again.
You won't do that because it's a solution to your autistic problem, and you're too attached to your seethe to do anything other than what you're doing right now.
>10 years to break double digit sales >hasn't been 10 years yet >only 3 FF games have ever reached double digit sales in the first place
anon this is not the win you were hoping for...
its funny that the single biggest bomb square has ever made, FFXIV, was able to be shut down and rebuilt to become the defacto face of its entire genre and the franchise, while XV floundered so badly
Seeing as how his 2 games have been immensely successful products that have restored the series' reputation, I imagine he'll have a blank check for further XIV content and probably has free reign to make XVII as well.
I honestly expect he'll be running Square within the next Decade, he's done well.

I'm sure the fact that FF16 didn't flop and the financials proved it so, won't stop you from making another seethe thread daily for the next year about the game. It's been two months and you're still seething.
>he financials proved it
cratered the operating income, so yes it did.
Show me the dates for those financials, the exact dates and show me the date of FF16 release. As you're doing that, show me also the financial records for how much Sony gave Square Enix for timed exclusivity.
>he doesn't know what Operating Income is
kek
don't worry anon, I am sure Sony paid 1 billion dollars OFF THE BOOKS and so XVI is a roaring success
Sony paid 1 billion dollars to SE?
Yes. It doesn't show up in the graphs because it's not part of this sector. It shows up under INVESTMENTS.
With that 1 billion dollar bump, XVI is very successful.
>the exact dates and show me the date of FF16 release
April 1 to june 30th. When XVI launched.
>Sony gave SE
Sony set aside 329m for 7 years for exclusvies
49m per year.
Split between other games, not just XVI.
For only 6 months of exclusivity
You actually think that money will save XVI is hilarious.
Nothing will save XVI seeing as the MMO and gachas are down.
>FF16 released June 23rd
>Financial records only cover until June 30th
I asked you to show me the Sony financial report, all you're doing there is making up numbers we can all do that. You made a claim now prove it. How much did Sony pay Square Enix for timed exclusivity for FF16, not some speculation but the records to prove how much.
>I asked you to show me the Sony financial report
You said financial report. That is SE's.
>Sony financial report
But if you insist.
https://web.archive.org/web/20210416022824/https://www.sony.com/en/SonyInfo/IR/library/download/Sony_Quarterly_Securities_Report_2020Q3.pdf
>Certain subsidiaries in the Game & Network Services (“G&NS”) segment have entered into long-term contracts for the development, distribution and publishing of game software. These contracts cover various periods mainly within seven years.
>As of December 31, 2020, these subsidiaries were committed to make payments of 34,360 million yen [$329m] under such contracts.
Is this what's going to cover up Forspoken, FFXVI and Rebirth flopping?
Sony's money didn't cover Flopspoken nor did it save XVI.
SE should've gone to Nintendo instead.
XVI would've looked like Bayonetta 3 or worse lmao.
XVI did not flop. Sony literally paid a billion dollars for it.
XVI was a major flop.
Probably bigger than Forspoken was and Rebirth will be.
Why are SE's games flopping so often?
Because XIV literally makes it so the company can't fail even with huge AAA flops. Game is too profitable.
>Because XIV
because gacha.
XIV has never and will never be the main money maker despite mmogays claiming otherwise.
Gacha is down though.
see
Note how mmos are always in 3rd place. And are down.
>XIV has been the most profitable game at SE
*one of 3 games that has a subscription model that charges players monthly.
**this is an accumulation of money through subscriptions, not that its actually a huge money maker every quarter or even year.
Why can't SE just make gacha games? It's the only thing they're good at.
way ahead of you
And people say SE only chases trends. No one else is doing blockchain stuff anymore.
>3rd place in revenue
>first place in profit
XIV literally carries the company anon. Not sure why it makes you so upset.
>first place in profit
lol no. That would be gacha once again.
Do you have charts for that too? I wanna see how badly the mmoBlack folk are getting beat.
NTA but they literally say in the report that it's seen constant downturn since most of the games are aging and pulling in less profit YoY I'm not sure I understand how it's somehow leading the charge profit wise in any way. It's net sales this quarter were less than HD Games for the first time in literally a few years iirc.
gacha is literally down. XIV has been the most profitable game at SE for over 10 years.
They suck ass at budgeting, especially for marketing.
XVI's numbers likely wouldnt be a flop for any other studio, but SE is a special kind of incompetent.
I can't wait to see Rebirth flop. It's shocking how well gacha and MMO have kept their corpse alive.
Im still thinkin about them selling off Deus Ex and Tomb Raider for not being good enough for them, even though they sold about as much as FF7R.
They were pretty unprofitable. SE Japan just wanted to one-up them.
So thats it, I was just basing it on the sales of last Deus Ex games.
I know they fricked Eidos Montreal with horrific Marvel games for a while, so maybe they just god fed up with the whole thing.
They'll be better off with Embracer.
If somehow, someway, Embracer gives the go ahead for a Legacy of Kain sequel, frick, they can get Doug Church to come back for literally fricking anything because he crawled out of the wood work for System Shock, I will literally fly to Japan and hand deliver a wreath of flowers and a kouden to whoever is the new CEO now. God knows they'll need the money.
Last tomb raider had a budget of 135 million and only launched with 4m copies over 4months across 3 platforms.
That's a mega bomb.
Because they keep making trash under an extremely high budget, thinking all they need to coast is their name and review sites gushing about cutscene production values.
I wonder if they'll just drop high budget games. Actually, they should. It'll hurt to cancel 7R Part III, but it's probably better in the long run. Put FF on hiatus as well. I don't think anyone will be interested in FF17 for a while.
Again.
That's so dumb. Gacha makes them so much money. MMOtrannies throw money at them by the millions. It should be clear that SE is terrible at AAA games and should abandon them entirely.
>3 year old report
What is this?
>periods mainly within seven years.
Yes, this report is laying out how much they will be dishing out over the next seven years.
49m average per year.
So, Sony paid $49M for Forspoken?
Nope even lower. That money is split even further between the exclusives that are coming out that year.
XVI and forspoken were flops despite taking sony money.
SE should've asked for more money from Sony.
It doesn't include reference to FF16, anon that report is out of date.
It's old news. The new deal is for 1 billion dollars. Doomposters are just desperate. Sony knew they had to compete with MSOFT somehow after losing COD.
>show me proof
>here's proof from both sony and square
>well that doesn't count...
ha ha ha
The proof is definitive. But SEgays can't handle just how badly the company is doing.
They had to oust the old CEO because of how badly he fricked up and the first major thing the new one did was stop doing the exclusivity stuff.
>But SEgays
its funny how yoshida cultists and xv-kun both cry about each other but in the end both forspoken and xvi flopped hard.
Thank God. Hopefully, we'll see FFXIV on Switch as well as Xbox.
Yes, show proof. You are showing something that is out of date with no reference to FF16, the financial deal Sony and Square Enix signed.
Blowing your brain here with some simple information I know right?
>You are showing something that is out of date
A claim you just made up out of frustration from being proven wrong.
>A claim you just made up out of frustration from being proven wrong.
This comment couldn't be more ironic if he was intentional.
Well no, considering I posted charts and links from the companies' FRs while you have been crying and have not proved a single thing I said wrong.
SEgays are the delusional sort. At least be a fan of a successful company. MiHoYo, Capcom, Nintendo, EA, Activision. Jesus, these losers.
>At least be a fan of a successful company
Nintendogays are insane.
Nintendogays are obsessed with sales and financial figures because they can't think of any of the merits of their games besides sales and metacritic scores.
>Why is Zelda good?
>U-uhm... W-well it sold like 20M copies and has a metacritic of 95!!
>Okay but why is it actually good?
>U-uhm... It just is!
What you posted was an out of date financial report from Sony that did not include any relevant information to the claim you're making.
The first chart you posted, was end dated 30/06/2023, while the release of FF16 was 23/06/2023. You're claiming FF16 flopped because on those 8 days it only sold, according to those charts 3million on the first weekend (including pre-orders) and by day 8 ff16 had only sold 4million units and you take that as a flop.
>4 million units
>SE themselves still say it is only at 3 million SHIPPED
I see that MMOgays have upgraded to pure, massive delusions now lmao
If you're going to post a chart, then you should read the financial report that it is sourced from.
holy fricking KEK
I know right, I'm laughing at someone posting charts but not reading the reports. Fricking kek.
Post the source then anon.
This shouldn't be hard. Where it specifically says XVI sold 4 million.
>Seethes for thread after thread about ff16 and SE
>Posts screen caps of charts from SE financial report
>Doesn't actually read any of the report
This is the level of braindead you find on this board.
Post the exact part of the report.
You can do that, can't you cultist?
>What you posted was an out of date
Based on your headcanon of what you wish reality was.
>You're claiming FF16 flopped because on those 8 days it only sold, according to those charts 3million on the first weekend
Against its very high development budget yes.
>f16 had only sold 4million units
So you're making up numbers now for this meltdown of yours? Can you show me where XVI has sold 4 million anon? That is quite the claim after all.
>xiv isn't even 25% of the income
cultists frickin btfo lmao
It's fricking hilarious. SE should just drop MMOs and AAA games. Gacha is what's bringing home the bacon.
Do you know what operating debt is? Flopspoken's debt is still included. If you're going to try and post investor financials, at least learn what it means.
I'm not sure how he won at all XVI is literally most of the revenue for that quarter. The last quarter of there FY2023 financials literally was one of their worst in some time with a AAA launch in Forspoken whilst XVI this is the highest Q1 in two years.
>whilst XVI this is the highest Q1 in two years.
>operating income plummeting
you stupid frick kek.
How many hours of each day do you spend doing this free PR work?
I know you're here.
You're really no better than Barry, I just hope you realise that.
Considering FFXVI sold well enough according to SE and that it had a pretty good reception, I'm expecting this in the future
>FFXIV gets a collab with FFXVI that overall teases the next FF mainline entry
>FFXVI-2 happens, it takes place in the future where Clive son is the protagonist. Clive and Jill are also dead because of some illness or died trying to protect their son
>Another FFXIV collab
>FFXVI-3 happens, which focuses on a minor character that appears in FFXVI-2 as they're actually royalty and must save their own respective homeland
>FFXVII finally happens, which is basically a huge love to FF1-FF6 or FF12, which has offline MMO combat akin to Xenoblade or a puzzle action game
Asset flipping the game would probably help them in the short term. The XIII special
We know where every new monster in Dawntrail is going to be from, certainly.
Going back to ff14 until he retires. The only thing he's good at.
ff14 is on the decline tho
Managed decline, so it's on purpose. Less content, more cash shop.
>Dawntrail's teaser trailer already has more views than Endwalker's after a few days
doomerbros...
>the end of a ten year story drew less interest than G'raha eating a taco
what the frick
It's misleading on both because the views are spread out over the livestreams, twitch broadcast, individual stream parties and trailers in individual languages. JP watches JP trailer for example.
>MMO sub-segment down YoY
Amusement-chads continue to dominate.
More seriously, Rebirth is going to pull their ass out of the fire and then they will make another set of trash games.
Rebirth is going to ship double what Remake managed in the first 3 months. Screencap this.
There wasn't any expacs for either DQX or XIV so it's not too shocking honestly.
I don’t know why people pour over the financials of the video games companies. (Or box office numbers for that matter.)
As long as they can keep making the art I like, I really couldn’t care less how much these companies profit.
That said, the box office success of the MCU is proof that it's good.
>art
Barry won.
>MMO makes less money in a year when no expansion released compared to year expansion is released
I like how the cultust goalpost has moved from "BEST MMO EVER MADE #1 MOST POPULAR to this.
But this happens with every MMO even WoW I'm failing to see who you're referencing here?
>Everything most remain static and stationary at all times as things are 10 years ago must they be 10 years from now.
FFXIV hate fans really are something else.
keep movin the goalpost lmao
Are you going to be doing this in ten years time lad? I may post here but I play the game and have fun. Do you seriously just seethe post on here all day, have you played the games?
I'll stop when you guys go back to /vg/
Oh so you're that guy who posts in the ffxiv threads about /vg/.
What games do you play lad?
>XIV LITERALLY carries the company
>well no expansion released, so that period of time doesn't count
ha ha ha
But the shills on Ganker tell me that the game is super popular with 25 million subs, on par with Fortnite, and that it keeps growing
why do they need expansions to turn a profit?
With every financial report the picture painted gets more bleaker
It's over for him now that World of Warcraft got its shit together. He had a change and he blew it
Lots of investors in this thread
Lots of seething mmo trannies too
The same fate all yoshis has
In the Lavapit with him
who is he unironically
MMO dev who said turn based was dead and made FF XVI, which ended up being the lowest selling FF since FF 5
then BG3 completely assraped him
Yet to see single discussion about it's gameplay besides
>miss
>miss
>miss
threads.
Crying on stream again
BG2 already outsold FFVIII which was coming right off the heels of fricking FFVII why are we pretending BG isn’t a huge IP
Normalgays and zoomers just learned that it exists at all.
Is this just a new MMOBlack person cope? Blatantly lying about easily checkable facts? LMAO
wtf are you talking about? VIII was in the 10 million range, BG2 is around 4 million.
Square Enix have become so arrogant.
Imagine wasting hundrends of millions of dollars making a game only to be outsold and outscored by Pikmin.
>any RPG comes out
>immediately theres a thread seething about FF16 and Yoshida
It's an undying obsession for those who don't play.
>raise
>allowed to develop ff17
>more dlc for ff16
>dawntrail viewed as the best mmo expansion in the history of expansion
I kneel...yellow man
>Yoshida sent back to his containment MMOtroony game until the end of time.
We won Barrybros.
Barry winning was the underdog story of the century, what a turn around.
Seriously the FFXIV discord took a massive L by inventing an imaginary boogeyman and then losing to him. Losers always lose
Bazztek is real THOUGH
sure he is troony, sure he is
How new?
You can spend years and years posting nonsense but that doesn't make it true
I'm not gonna let you steal Bazza's victory from him. He earned it.
He's an australian abbo(which makes me kinda feel sad for him).
Don't forget that time he threatened to rape some chick after doxxing her because she didn't like the versus 13 chick.
That's stellagay, anon, get your boogymen right.
cope bazzy
>xhe thinks barry isn't real
mods openly confirm hes real and so pathetic he uses multiple VPNs to try pretend people agree with him
Bazzy has been a thing long before FFXIV .
Jobbed to KH3.
unironically, what the frick was he thinking?
He was thinking that his rabid, delusional fanboys would sell the game for him. Little did he know that nobody pays attention to/values what MMOgays have to say about anything.
They are a negative marketing value in anything that is not an MMO.
This is true. Having Yoshida make FF16 was a poor choice of Matsuda.
>I hate the term JRPG... I want to be globohomo
>turn-based doesn't le sell anymore
How can one sellout globocuck be more wrong
Why are people in this thread larping as if SE is about to die in 2 hours? What is it with SE's financials that does this to this board it's quite insane.
they're not going to die any time soon, but they've been on the decline for a while.
Its just neat to talk about this shit as it informs whats really going on with the company.
Why Endwalker sucks for example.
You can really tell which people only play FFXIV and which ones have been following SE as a company for a while.
>following SE as a company for a while
What a bunch of dumb losers. Imagine following SE as a company. Well, maybe I should have pity instead. Those poor fricks probably don't anything better to do.
The MMO sector is only lower since there isn't hasn't been an expac in like nearly two years nothing really else to be said.
Endwalker wouldn't have tanked as hard over time if they acutally made content for it.
No one cars about your game, MMOBlack person. Gacha games have been supporting the company for far too long for this bullshit.
Literally ever post expac launch has seen a downtrend I'm not really sure there's anything really to grasp don't let your bias cloud you bro, DT arguably has more interest going into it that EW.
>What is it with SE's financials that does this to this board it's quite insane.
https://www.famitsu.com/news/202206/22265843.html
>Yoshida: We have spent a considerable amount of money on the development of the "FF" series, so it is very important for the company to make a profit.
Good. FF has been such a terrible series for so long. FFgays thing their games are great when they've never been anywhere near that.
>Dawntrail cancelled
>FFXIV EoS announcement this year
CANT WAIT
I hope they send the resources to the mobile games. Shit's the only thing that really makes any money.
>he does it for literal free
>barry's seething is once again to intense hes confusing reality with his schizo headcanon
How does Barry live with himself being a shitskin brown Black person?
Every moment hes not shilling FF15 and flopspoken hes jerking off to incest and troony porn
new nuclear bomb dropped
can i get an
OOF
>FF16's sales fell short of expectations
ITS
FRICKING
O V E R
barry fricking won
Can you stop samegayging and answer
I'm not those people though.
I'm just someone who wants generals to leave Ganker.
That goes to FFXIV and those yugioh gays
>I'm just someone who wants generals to leave Ganker.
then stop spamming your anti-XIV thread every 30 minutes, cultist
So you don't play any games, but want threads that talk about games gone from a game board.
Here's an idea, download GankerX, wordfilter those threads and there you go you'll never see them again.
You won't do that because it's a solution to your autistic problem, and you're too attached to your seethe to do anything other than what you're doing right now.
yfw Barry won.
>10 years to make
>10 years to break double digit sales
>half its planned content dlc is cut and has to be made into a fricking book
>10 years to break double digit sales
>hasn't been 10 years yet
>only 3 FF games have ever reached double digit sales in the first place
anon this is not the win you were hoping for...
>FFXV
To understand FFXV you need to do pic related.
its funny that the single biggest bomb square has ever made, FFXIV, was able to be shut down and rebuilt to become the defacto face of its entire genre and the franchise, while XV floundered so badly
he needs to find a wife and start wearing a wedding ring. he should get married in FFIV.
Seeing as how his 2 games have been immensely successful products that have restored the series' reputation, I imagine he'll have a blank check for further XIV content and probably has free reign to make XVII as well.
I honestly expect he'll be running Square within the next Decade, he's done well.
lol
That's cool Barry but I'm just gonna follow Square's own people saying they're really happy with his work than random jap neets on twitter alright?
XIV won.
XVI won.
Forspoken lost.
XV lost.
That's the biggest oof of all.
>Square's own people saying they're really happy with his work
>company likes its own product
>dog licks its own balls
Lmao
Barry won
Yeah, I trust them saying something did well when they also state when something sucks.
Forspoken released and a week later the team was dissolved due to the game being hot dogshit. They also state XV was an unfinished mess.
And then in XVI they state the game was extremely strong and are planning DLC. The new CEO hangs off Yoshi-P (Gigachad) like a fly on shit.
You lost, my aboriginal friend.
Shit eater, you're outnumbered here. Crawl back to xivg
okay barry, stop spamming with your VPNs
because his game is the only notable thing to come from square in years
Low energy Barry! Sad!
>I honestly expect he'll be running Square within the next Decade
He was on the like board of top guys at square for a while but quit to just make games because he didn't want to deal with all the bullshit
I'm thinking he's based for english jill fans into liking ntr.
Why did the FF14 cult turn on him so fast? I thought he could do no wrong?
>kills your franchise
Why hasn't he committed sudoku yet? His game flopped, the company is bordering total collapse, and he was responsible for everything.
/v/'s obsession with every single game being a "flop" or "troony-infested" or "woke" is getting real tiring, bros.
I just wanna enjoy my videogames and talk about them with other videogame enjoyers.
>tranime
Say the line bart lmao
>tranime
This is exactly what I'm talking about. Please for the love of god, use proper language.
