Attack of the Rhynocs, the entire fricking game was one giant fetch quest and it got old really goddamn fast.

It was a fun take on the metroidvania genre but with a Spyro flair. Everything was connected similarly to how Banjo Tooie designed its world.
Funnily enough, I emulated that game the other day. After exploring the hub world and Dojo area, I didn't want to keep playing, but I never beat the game as a kid so I used the speed run glitch to teleport to the final boss..intresting feeling of closure tbh
Yeah, I really liked it too.
I played the games at a friend's house back in the day but didn't play them front to back until I discovered emulation in my teens, and eventually bought copies for myself.
I played Reignited last year after I built my PC. It's not a 100% faithful remake but I still thought it looked beautiful and played just like I remembered but with improved controls.
If they were my childhood games I probably would have been pissed off about every little detail that was changed, but I wasn't playing them side by side looking for flaws so I had a great time with it.
If I remember correctly, the original artist for the Crash and Spyro series got his inspiration from Looney Tunes, mostly of the Tex Avery and Chuck Jones era. When you look at Spyro, you can tell his body is designed in a similar way to characters like Sylvester, Penelope, or Pepe, at least when they're on all fours. It has been mentioned that Spyro is very cat-like despite being a dragon.
>I like how you conveniently omitted this thing that I subjectively think is worse
Why did you post this, anon?
Anon, they absolutely fricking bungled the art in Reignited, and it's not even the leads artists' fault. Activision outsourced most of the final models to shitshops in India.
If you actually liked the remakes, you should be unhappy with how they look. None of the concept art was done justice.

He's animated well in the game, I won't argue on that, and even with the mistakes his design is still the best it's been since the PS1, but they absolutely fricked up the art direction the concept artists were going for. Again, if you give even half a shit about the remakes, you should be upset that Nicholas Kole/Devon Cady-Lee/Florian Coudray/etc.'s wonderful concept work was mangled in the hands of poo in loo indian sweatshop morons who oversaturated everything and make it look like chunky Fortnite clay nonsense.

>even though concept art is always superior anyway?
Not always. There are games that almost perfectly translate their concept art designs to the finished product— my favorite example is Gigantic, a now-dead MOBA style game that a good number of the people who worked on the Reignited trilogy actually helped do artwork for, and almost all of their work was perfectly adapted. I'd argue that some of Gigantics environments ended up looking more like PS1 Spyro than the Reignited games did, and you can tell its because even before working on Reignited, these artists carried a lot of inspiration from those PS1 Spyro games.

But the only confirmed furries working on the project did a good job. Nicholas Kole's Elora design looks a thousand times better than the finished model.

applies to you just as much as anti-Reignited gays. Reignited did improve on most of the designs of the main characters, the dragons, and some of the more "generic" levels but in regard to certain areas that were especially beautiful then no, they've fumbled quite a bit there with the worst offenders being Icy Peak, Cloud Spires, Idol Springs, Seashell Shore, and Fireworks Factory. For the best example of how Reignited takes one step forward and another step back, just look at what they did to Dragon Shores. The level of detail added to make the place look like an actual theme park is cool but it came at the expense of losing that pretty pastel look that the original had. Aside from all that, just be honest with Reignited's weaknesses or at least counter argue with some of its areas of improvement instead of resorting to that ole' BLOOO ARMs nonsense. It's the fanboy equivalent to the detractor's "good morning sir" posting. Overall, OG vs Reignited Spyro both have charming qualities that put them evenly matched against each other like how no one can agree on which version of Rayman 2 is definitive. That just speaks to the high quality of these games.

For Spyro 4, free flying should only be a 100% completion reward so as to not trivialize the platforming. The game being an open world metroidvania would make free flying even better.

Spyro because EtD is horrifically broken
TWoC is ugly and has loading screen problems on one version but at least it's much more playable than EtD
