there are already several open source virtual table top applications.

Vassal alone is probably older than you.

This. FOSS is made by autists, who design UIs for fellow autists. Either learn autism or pay up.

open source means you can tweak the UI to your liking, anon.

Yes but the thing with open source is that eventually there'll be a place for all the forks etc. since i can't find one with good ui for dnd, i just assume it's not a thing

Standard dnd 5e with some modules, tho we're kinda beginning to touch pathfinder 2.0

vassal has multiple modules for D&D 5e.

                pathfinder 2e is a WIP.

      >People don't know Vassal
      >Or OpenRPG
      >Or Maptool

OpenRPG is kind of basic but has been around for a long ass time.
      Vassal is surprisingly useful.
Maptool has consistently been on the cutting edge of what the software can do, but the fact they require GMs to know java if they want to make custom macros really hurts them.

What's stopping you? Oh right, it'd be a fuckton of work, demands a number of skills, and has little chance of making you any real money at the end. That's why you're here whining about no one doing it for you, ignoring that these issues would be there for anyone else as well.

As a general rule, FOSSfags can't into QA, decent UI, compatibility with established standards, and not pissing off the average user in a million ways.
There are many notable exceptions, which are widely adopted and praised, but for every Blender there's a hundred GIMPs.

Open source guarantees fuck all in terms of security nowadays, unless the project is quite popular: just look at minecraft, there's been hundreds of scandals due to devs getting caught sneaking in malicious code, and it still keeps happening.
Worse still, the echo-chamber transformation of modern internet means that malicious code gets """reintepreted""" as social activism or whatever, even Mozilla got away with it on multiple occasions.

Same with you. You are so brain rotted you think open source software means you're a communist spy.
Minecraft was not originally an open source project, some of its libraries were made open source, and anomalous things were found in them.

I honestly never thought I'd see a day where people were advocating for being a slave to a company, but I guess a lot has changed.
Either that or you are a disingenuous retard.

                >Minecraft was not originally an open source project
It never was and isn't open source, that "originally" is highly sus already.
                >some of its libraries were made open source, and anomalous things were found in them.
This is complete fabrication and evidence the above was written by a bot: a human being would either figure out the discussion was about Minecraft mods, or call bullshit on the claim.
