That's crazy. Almost all of them are horrible in their own way. Either dragging out the same plot points through multiple chapters, or failing to explain the logic in a rush of different things happening in the final chapters.
>people are saying none of 7's problems were addressed
I can't imagine the level of moron you'd need to be to say NONE of 7's problems were addressed. Literally every reasonable complaint I've heard about 7 was addressed. Its problems are all brand new (story's not as good, NG+ DLC shit).
Whenever I've asked about the combat, I've been told it's just as easily exploitable and lacking in difficulty. That completely deterred me from trying it and then I heard all the braindead story stuff. What did they fix from 7?
The main problem is that it is still turn-based and we have a moronic protagonist. Story sucks in both 7 and 8. and the NG+ has existed even in 7 with the JP release. Gaiden is the real 7th entry as far as I'm concerned.
6 was my least favorite game in the series until this week. 8 has the worst story of any Yakuza game, which is no small feat. It's also 75 hours long, with 30 hours of it being egregious filler even by Yakuza standards. 3 and 6 have the benefit of only being 30 hours total.
best in the series. peak kino blend of action and silly moments. Akiyama solving the plot and even protecting from gunfire with raw cashflow is fricking great
y4 is genuinely one of the greatest games i ever played. i liked almost everything. the immediate new character introduction with akiyama. saejima's prison break. even tanimura's final boss
only thing i could've done without was the sewer lurking shit
the decision to give hamazaki a redemption arc of all characters always baffled me. i think it works well enough, but why bother for a character who had almost no presence in the last game
No, that's when they got rid of it. It was in 1, 2, 3, 4, Dead Souls, BP1, and BP2 with Kenzan's being debatable if it was the same since it's more like Haruka's main story stuff in 5 just without a beat, but it's the same "Sexy women try to distract you" thing.
There is no such thing as a bad Yakuza game.
At the same time, there is no such thing as a great Yakuza game. (Don't say 0.)
Lost Judgement and Judgement
(They're not "Yakuza" games"
>Lost Judgment
That's crazy. Almost all of them are horrible in their own way. Either dragging out the same plot points through multiple chapters, or failing to explain the logic in a rush of different things happening in the final chapters.
7 is legitimately bad. I assume 8 is too since people are saying none of 7's problems were addressed.
They hated him because he spoke the truth.
8 is fun so i like it, also its just better gameplay wise.
storywise? eehhhhh, but its yakuza.

>What did they fix from 7?
The combat system's a lot more interactive and the class balance is a lot better now.
But is it still full of ez combos and heat action spam with the only spikes being literal built in grind points?
when have these games been hard?
when I do my hard/legend runs without healing items
They feel way more organic when you can't just pop 20 staminans at will.

I thought 7 was ok, but I do enjoy turn based rpgs. 8 is probably my least favorite game in the series
>8 is probably my least favorite game in the series
Haven't played it yet but there's no way it can be worse than 3 or 6.
6 was my least favorite game in the series until this week. 8 has the worst story of any Yakuza game, which is no small feat. It's also 75 hours long, with 30 hours of it being egregious filler even by Yakuza standards. 3 and 6 have the benefit of only being 30 hours total.

Too many Yakuza threads
Dumb fun.
What is smart fun?
this track is so fricking sick
y4's OST is easily one of the best. every song hits perfectly
y4 is genuinely one of the greatest games i ever played. i liked almost everything. the immediate new character introduction with akiyama. saejima's prison break. even tanimura's final boss
only thing i could've done without was the sewer lurking shit
A SELFISH DEEEEEEED
Pure kino.
Well? Are you going to prove the people of Kamurocho can do the impossible?
it was kino. literal adrenaline manifest
Akiyama > Kiryu
>solo Akiyama game never ever
Sadly, I'll never for give the Devs for that shit they pulled in 6, got his ass beat and fricked off.
Bad opinion.
Good, but not as good as five. Anyone who disagrees was filtered by kino.
Peak of the series
>best combat
>best moronic plot twist
>best ost
>best long battle
>best ending sequence

Sneedful sir
The music is sick.

This is the last game on the series worth playing. You can play 0 to 4 and stop there, you won't miss anything.
>they brought back the shitty massage and hostess management minigames from 3
why
Massage minigames were a series staple at the time. 1, 2, Kenzan has a variant of it, and 3 all had it.
Does 5 have it?
No, that's when they got rid of it. It was in 1, 2, 3, 4, Dead Souls, BP1, and BP2 with Kenzan's being debatable if it was the same since it's more like Haruka's main story stuff in 5 just without a beat, but it's the same "Sexy women try to distract you" thing.
So 5 is the best game in the series, got it.
better than 1, 3 and 6
worse than 2, 5 and 0
