Halls of Torment is the better game soley because you need to at least try the dodge stuff, feels like the natural evolution to VS in a gameplay sense

I’ve heard “bullet heaven” thrown around. A free similar game is Holocure. You play as those Hoe-girlve girls, despite that the game is fun and the dev keeps adding new content and features that VS doesn’t have. It’s releasing on Steam in a week with a new update.

Where? Where is the gameplay? Rolling your head over directional buttons in a pre-set pattern is not gameplay. There's nothing to react to, or interact with, apart from a slot machine every couple of minutes. That is the only actual gameplay: Selecting items. Everything else is just flashing lights designed to keep your brain in a state of receptive slushiness.
Rolling a dice ten times over the course of half does not constitute a fricking videogame anon. I'm sorry but it just doesn't. This entire genre is horseshit specifically designed to emulate a casino and dissolve your higher functions while you watch the zappy lights and sounds and see all the numbers going up. It doesn't require any thought or effort, it doesn't test skill, perception, problem solving. It requires nothing from you and gives you fake feelings of achievement to keep you endlessly playing it. It isn't a videogame. I'm not sure what it is. Glorified pachinko machine, possibly? Either way, it's a bad genre and you're moronic for liking it.

Youre right. It plays itself and the meta game (picking the right items) is so obvious that even that part is not a real game.
It's good for killing half an hour when I'm too tired for something like Isaac or Risky Rain 2.

I agree it's better. But I recommend playing VS first and then try HoT for maximun time wasting potential.

Fun for a time and free on the phone (except dlc). I bought the dlc on my phone after beating the core game, it's perfect for this kind of device.
