Well the average IQ for majority of first world nations is in the 90-106 range anyways. Japan is 106 and that's the highest average IQ for a country.

The programming skill floor is maybe around normie tier and there is no ceiling as there is no limit to the complexity of a program.
Maybe is a good average estimate, though I posit that it's getting lower as more and more normies are getting into CS, just in time for an industry shrink.

Engine devs or regular gamedevs? I'd say that engine devs are way above average, but regular gamedevs, not so much.

Finance. A software project manager can spin doctor excuses as to why his shit failed and keep his job, but if you frick up in finance your ass is toast. There's a reason you don't see pajeets in finance.

Depends. Quant, sure. I had a friend who applied for an internship for one, 8 rounds of interviews and they basically administer an IQ test in disguise. They strongly select for pure intelligence.

For Investment banking, it's more about an obsessive desire to win and people skills, which filters pajeets. If you're willing to work 80+ hours a week, then you can do well there, even if you're average intelligence.

Investment banking is more about connections since that's how you get access to insider information and trading. You think it was a coincidence that Bill Gates had $10B in Modern shares right before the huge mRNA push in 2020?

Yeah, this seems about right. There are the occasional 130+ iq folk too. People severely overestimate their IQ, 110-115 seems the average for a “good” programmer, combined with a lot of time practicing.

I don't know how "good" I am at game programming but I know enough about it that I can work as a game dev teacher.
