What's the best budget HDMI to RCA Composite converter?

What's the best budget HDMI to RCA Composite converter?

I want to use my PC Graphics Card and RetroArch to output an N64 game at 240p from HDMI to a CRT TV with composite.

Will any cheap one on Amazon work?

I think these all come from the same manufacturer because the .onn one from Walmart and one from Amazon have the same amount of input delay. Also, I wasn't able to get 240p out of it, but you might.

Bruh, give it up, all these are the same chink shit, incapable of 240p, and they give a very horrible image anyways.

I have a $10 one from Amazon but it only does 480i/567i. You're not getting 240p out of these converters. If you have a Raspberry Pi, maybe you can stream from your PC to the Pi and hook the Pi up to your CRT to get 240p? It has an ethernet port so you should theoretically be able to get near instant streaming
    >they give a very horrible image anyways
    Wrong

I have a Pi 4. How do I go about hooking it to RCA Component?

I looked through a drawer and found 3.5mm to RCA cables from a 20yo camcorder. Maybe you got one too! Just keep in mind that many camcorder manufacturers intentionally mispainted their cables (eg the red cable may actually be the yellow cable)

that's not how you get a proper 240p signal out of a modern PC

I am dumbass but won't this cause big lag?

      why would it?

Nah. Maybe if you're downscaling from a much larger resolution

Only because the hardware is garbage. Otherwise it'd just be minimum one frame of latency since the analog signal it's sending out has specific timings.

Avoid these at all costs unless you plan to watch videos and shit. These are alright if you don't plan to play real-time action games like fighting or shooters. Sometimes I do like to watch replays on my CRT for the memes though so it's ok for that.

Why do people make up shit like this, I played Radiant Silvergun with one of these lol. Are you downscaling from 1080p or are you setting the resolution in Windows to 480p?

I used 720x480 (let me guess, you used 640x480, right?) to play on these. Let me tell you, the lag in real time games is just not good for the soul. Mainly bought one to play shit like MUGEN to see what these games would look like on a consumer tube. I resorted to just watching the NPCs fight cause frick that input delay.

          >the lag
Didn't get any lag myself. Played a great many action games this way so you bought a dud

I own both the Walmart one (.onn brand) and an Amazon one.

I brought one of those but I also brought a simple hdmi to vga adaptor and then used a vga to composite converter.
The one in your picture I could very easily notice the lag, it was difficult to time jumps in platform games.
The hdmi to vga to composite chain was pretty good for lag in comparison, there may have been lag but it didn't seem too obvious.
I tried it with a retro pc but every time the resolution changed I would have to change the settings, I mainly got all this to use with the A500 mini and it worked pretty good but the mess of wires got really annoying. I would like to make the mod internal.

I could notice it on the a500 mini but maybe a lower rez has less lag

the one in your image doesn't work. I tried many of those cheap ones, none of them worked. They are not suited for upscalling 240p

You want DP or HDMI to VGA and VGA to RGBS. Those composite adapters are awful for 240p, locked to 480i.

I have one of those and get no noticeable input lag. I run everything including Windows in 640x480 though.

None of them. Some as shameless enough to advertize themselves as the best, such as the N64 one from las year, but are all of the deceived. You can find them anywhere as just an adapter; the name means nothing and even the shopkeeps will agree.

This is where the Misterhomosexuals have a strong case. A Framemeister, given its price, is only worthwhile if you have all your devices plugged at once and want to toggle between them. The mini consoles are convenient, but know that you are emulating. I ordered my 2600+ and can't wait to play 8bit in 8k.

The Goodwill down the street had a CRT for $10, $5 on discount. I get one for my oldies but frankly I'm all set with my Analogue Pocket. My advise to you is to earn more money for your hobby.
