It's still a bugged clusterfrick with a mediocre story and mediocre gameplay. Beyond overrated.

Cyberpunk 2077's setting is what happens when you cross brutal chinese industrialism with nonsensical judeo-american woke culture. it creates an utterly broken system where everything is a commodity and mental illness is leveraged to sell garbage products that no one needs.

it's just like how this broken game sold millions of copies.

Ganker's new cloudfare shitbox keeps timing me out for 1-5 minutes all the time no reason and i hate it.

I'm replaying it again for the first time in a couple years right now actually and holy shit the 2.0 changes and update somehow made a shit game worse.
    >level scaling
    >gta ripoff wanted system that's worse
    >still no immersion in the world - exploring is a waste of time
    >writing is the same hot garbage in Phantom Liberty
Shocking that people think this game was "improved".
Oh and there's still a butt-frick load of bugs everywhere constantly

The worst part is they are still charging $60.00 for it. Fricking insulting. I'm not paying $60.00 for it, so I just won't play it.

      >bad writing
I don't think you even know what that means. Are you the same moron who says RDR2 has bad writing?

      >Shocking that people think this game was "improved".
It's just viral marketing, my first playthorught was this last december, supposedly the last "big update that fixes everything" just fropped and the game still has a lot of bugs and glitches, some of them are hilarious, but I had to load checkpoints because the game would randomly teleport me to locked locations I couldn't exit from; this game is a long way from being "fixed"

Finished it recently and the only encountered a bug where I fell through the world once after crashng my car in the Badlands at full speed.. I never understood how people encounter so many bugs in games, did you try to drive a car up a flight of stairs inside a building or something?

          >did you try to drive a car up a flight of stairs inside a building or something?
Nothing, for example, I was just driving to the mission where you go to Jackie's funeral and the game just teleported me to Delamains HQ, and sicne I wasn't in the Delamain quest I couldn't exit from there and had to reload.

Also my character would be just walking and sometimes I was send flying to a wall or teleported to a highway, really strange.

The best bug is when you are racing and there's a lot of people waiting for you at the finish line, the AI wasn't instructed to slow down and they would just get ran over and sometimes the cars would explode colliding with a wall, it was hilarious lol

Playable, good enough for a couple playthrough if you like the genre/style. But ultimately has a lot of wasted potential

It showed that you can launch a game a year before it's ready, spend the next two years "fixing" it (which means delivering even 50% of what you promised in the marketing), and then be praised by the entire industry for doing such a great job, as though it wasn't your fault the game was a mess to begin with.

Also that people will overlook bad writing if Keanu Reeves is involved, but anyone who's watched John Wick already knew that

Character action game pretending to be an RPG while being held back by its RPG mechanics. They should have just made a Deus Ex game.

      >pretending to be an RPG
What do you mean, anon? You had the option to choose from THREE different prologues that take about 5 minutes each and all end with the exact same montage

I played the game with a hardcore mod
I refuse to engage in your dogshit shooter rmg mechanics where it takes a full mag just to kill oen goon

The universe is cool, the story and dialog are a complete mess, they skip the whole "getting to know the city and side characters" part and go directly to the big heist, all to fit Keanu Reeves, a long time mediocre actor that delivers his lines with the charisma of a wet paperboard.

Gunplay is super boring and AI is so moronic even in the highest difficulty they don't oppose much resistance, quickhacks althought they seemed cool in concept, they are also really boring to play with, what made it for me was the movement with the dashes + sandevistan + katana, I got to admit they nailed it in that regard, the momentum you keep is really fun.

If it wasn't because I share accounts with my friend and he bought it, I wouldn't have ever played it, still think it was ok.

Base game is good but Phantom Liberty is possibly the best singleplayer expansion ever released

Made me acutely aware that gamers are teenagers who's "opinion" about a piece of work hinges solely on the culture surrounding it.

It was always good. People reveal their consolebabby status by complaining about it too much. It ran like an average AAA release on PC (buggy, but not game breakingly so unless you were unlucky). It was unfinished and untested on release with some weak-but-serviceable design, but was frankly no worse than TW3 on its release (Igni is STILL unbalanced).

But the thing I love the most about it, and I no longer give a frick about saying this because yet again all people on the internet could seem to do for years is have some weird political shouting match around it, was the story and the setting. It managed to take the TTRPG and turn it into something much more detailed and immersive while both playing to tropes of the genre and treating those tropes with weight. All of the characters and believable and flawed, Johnny most of all, yet there are very few you can write off entirely.

But it's just walking around that city, getting a sense of what living in that dystopic nightmare is like via visual designs and side quests, that fricking nails how it feels to be alive now. You look at shit like how almost no apartments have kitchens but do have bug protein vending machines and you can imagine that being something you'll see IRL before you die. Or how the most heartfelt and open V can be is with a brainwashed sex worker called a "doll", who themselves hates their fricking job. You see how the rare politician who actually gives a little bit of a shit is immediately a target for businesses surrounding him and his wife. You see the whole fricking world turned into numbers, and EVERY human interaction turned into a transaction, and god if that doesn't feel like the 2020s. And after all of that, it presents you with suicide multiple times, lets you actually think about it, doesn't pretend it doesn't make total sense in a lot of cases, shows the aftermath and handles it realistically. I haven't seen anything do that in a very long time.

If you think Cyberpunk 2077 is this deep of a reflection of the real world, you should probably wait until you're 18 to post here.
