ironically xenoblade 2. I couldn't take the game seriously at all. I was laughing my ass off at how cringe the game is. shit game but damn did it give me good chuckle.
Played the Sims with irl friends (all of us in the same room). We literally couldn't breathe we were laughing so hard!
We made some abominations. Then made them do some crazy shit. Then we tried all the cheats to do even crazier shit!
Every game is fun when I play with my friends. We make even the worst games fun.
The problem is, we all have different sleeping patterns, and we rarely find a game we all like, so we usually play different games.
Shit sucks.
Quake 2 Capture the Chicken mod during a LAN party of friends of all my IRL brothers back in Quake 2's prime internet days when the mod culture was boomer fileplanet/planetquake/gamespy stuff.
Nothing compares except for regular Deathmatch when most people don't even know how to play quake and there is no esport players in the match with you. Just family and friends of like 7 people on mechanical ball mouse. We played StarCraft 1, Red Alert Command and Conquer 2, Quake 2 DM/Capture the Chicken, Weapons Factory, Lithium, regular CTF, and the most fun anyone had was the screams while being gibbed and/or running while holding onto the chicken for their lives through regular Q2 maps.
Whoever invented that mod is a genius. I used to imagine playing other mods with those people, but it was a special time, one to not take for granted like that this just comes every day, or that anyone on the internet is possibly having such an innocent time as that as PC gamers that will never happen again.
In the original CTC, you cannot fire back at those chasing you.
the most fun of all time was probably Quake 1 various mods or Quake 2 threewave ctf.
Just being part of the Quake 1 community was infinitely more exciting than anything going on in gaming, or in life in general right now. I'm really happy that I lived through that era in my adolescence.
the way AI is taking off right now should be super exciting, but it's literally going to destroy humanity, so.
Lithium was just one of those highly played DM mods that was always around and didn't take much effort to go download it yourself due to how lightweight the mod was probably.
It took much later to realize that the lithium runes probably make esports players too powerful or something. You have to realize that esls weren't a thing back then. And local quake tournaments was exciting for a kid simply because he had never heard of going to one. But the real magic was right there in our own house that we had on just literally one day and never had it again. The devil just tries to divert away from that.
Team Fortress 2 during its golden years before F2P shit, the bot crisis, Uncle homosexual making it his mission to degrade the game so it fits his personal liking and community servers were a plethora of variety and fun. Saxton Hale mode will always be the GOAT. Especially with custom bosses.

Quake 1 was ok but we didn't play it. I wasn't even 18+ yet and Quake 2 met a better criteria and our older brother had to be responsible for the kinds of shit we were playing. He barely got by with getting us StarCraft 1, which our parents at first sent back to the store for a refund due to it having mature content like Starship Troopers.
uhh the situation your etalking about with playing on lan consistently with a bunch of family members sounds like you had a house with 8 computers in it or something
what you are describing with your posts isnt lan parties its consistent play

It was pretty funny for a parody game.
Hard to pick just one.
Katamari Damacy
some Cave and Raizing shmups
Earth Defense Force series
Elden ring as of late
Asura's Wrath made me laugh, especially during the cutscenes between episodes where the audio would get insanely loud
if you're serious, SP Stick of Truth is great
any kingdom hearts game after 1
I would probably have to say either Unreal Tournament 2004, Vermintide 2, or Devil May Cry 3

I haven't had fun playing video games when I became a pc gamer in my teens, I played games because I was addicted

saxton hale is great. wished the custom boss servers were more open. I love fighting luigi or raiden or a meme boss with a weird gimmick

you were only playing with people locally not on internet? interesting, never heard of anyone having an experience like that
What is this a zoomer? It's called local area networking (LAN). Windows gamers know all about it.
