Affordability. The difference between the number of games a $300 PC and a $2000 PC can run is nowhere near big enough to warrant spending that extra money. If that extra $1700 only lets you play 4 games that you couldn't have played on the $300 PC, then each of those games effectively cost you an extra $425. That's not even close to being worth the money.

Depends on how much money you have and how much time you'd spend actually playing the games you cannot play on a shit PC. It's irrelevant that you can play 1118764435 games you will never touch in your entire life. If the 4 games you cannot play are games you'd otherwise put hundreds of hours each into, they're more valuable than the other ones.

The games you'd need a $2000 PC to run are mechanically identical to every other fricking game out there in a similar vein. The latest CoD is the same shit as CoD from 10 years ago.

onpy maxing out the gpu really matters. if your cpu is 12th gen intel / 5000-series ryzen or newer, the cpu will almost never be the limiting factor in your games, especially of you play at 4k or 1440o.

BALANCE gpu and cpu. GPU is basically the key, but do not get a better gpu if it means skimping on cpu. People make a big deal over NEEDING a 4090, but it's a fricking joke. I'm playing new games 120fps+ at 1440p on an old ass build. DON'T skimp on RAM, get at LEAST 24gb or you'll be annoyed when you have to close your browser/other apps every time you boot a game. Get a solid cooler for your cpu, and make sure your case has fans installed from front to back. Many cases don't have fans in the front pre installed for some dumb reason. Airflow and a good cooler makes a big difference so you don't hit too high of temps, and it's not expensive to make sure you're nice and cool. You don't need water cooling.
