I really like boobs, but in that game the eel there really won me over. A rare reversal for me.

What's the most fun RPG you've played lately? Why was it so fun?
I've been not playing too much lately. I played the new FF and really enjoyed it. An ARPG, so might not count. If not, I've started the PS1 Tales of Phantasia. I've played other versions but not the PS1 and I've heard it's the best one.
Severance is severely low budget eurojank, don't expect anything outside its combat. It's a prototype showcase of a kino combat system. It is also not a RPG.

Oh and, you'll probably not play it all the way through but it's worth a peek to see how much potential the combat can offer. I wish more games stole it, it can straight up render Soulsisraelite trash obsolete.
Play Nioh 1 and 2 afterwards. I didn't give it a chance at first but now it's one of the most fun games I've ever played.
(me again)
You know what, I'm turbo shilling this very rough gem. Take a look, the dark fantasy atmosphere is pretty impressive for a non-RPG:
Severance has a dedicated multiplayer scene and several custom levels and other mods out there.
Playing dins legacy pretty fun
Lots of skills and classes that can mutate with other skills can be positive or negative stats or an entire new skill added on top of the original also has factions that you can attack or attack you can create pacts ect it's worth a try
Lately? I played Tales of Arise but it's not as fun as I expected. It's solid but that's about it.
Before that I guess I played Ys games at start of the year, beat first 3 of them, Origin was the most fun I had.
Need to go back to 3rd game. And then will be fun to see three different 4th games.

Probably disgaea 5 while bored WFH. I liked the fun music, low iq repetition / gambling of item world, customization and colors, just a polished enjoyable experience while I still needed to be “present” enough to switch gears and do work for the israelites if something came up. I looked into 6 since it’s now on steam, but everyone says it’s bad and $70 is a fricking insult. Maybe illl try 4 instead.
Trails of Cold Steel 4. I really liked fighting the super bosses with my custom team. I tend to go with a mix of power and characters I like. >Rean >Emma >Fie >Elliot >Altina >Randall
Currently playing Romancing SaGa 2. I like how it subverts a lot of JRPG cliches. Item shops are basically useless, total party wipe is a chance to try a new strategy instead of a game over, magic is more than just WeakSpell, MidSpell, BigSpell (I love FF and SMT, but both games do this a lot)
Really unique game, but there's no way in hell I could have gotten this far without a guide.
Akitoshi Kawazu SaGa series are some of the best games around very unconventional especially unlimited SaGa I love how it looks hand painted and roulette style combat
>Using guides for SaGa
why, it completely ruins the experience, especially because those games don't follow conventions and are also full fledged RPGs, they're not even that hard
I've been really enjoying Pillars of Eternity. It took a minute to get into it, but I'm thoroughly into it by now and I'm glad that I finally tried it. I'm going to go right from this to PoE 2 in a straight shot, since I'm huge into pirates, pirate history and the kinds of trading/political dealings that take place in the sort of setting that Deadfire has. I think it's going to be even better for me than the first game has been. Fingers crossed.
Skyrim. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. I get to put on armor, hold a big sword and swing it like a bat at dumb bandits and monstrocities while getting rich off it. No game does it like it for me.
Been playing Dark Souls of the first time.
Great game, love the exploration and combat.
>of
FOR the first time, man I’m moronic.
brainlet here but aren't you supposed to play those online?
The servers are down but it’s playable offline. There just isn’t any invasions or player messages on the ground, which is a shame.
>brainlet here but aren't you supposed to play those online?
No, they're better offline. Way better. Don't let any PVPgays tell you different.

Trash, go play Dragon's Dogma or Severance: Blade of Darkness instead. Straight action games, not that shitty dodge roll trash.
does dragon's dogma require online multiplayer too?
No. Dragon’s Dogma can be played entirely offline.
I’ve played Dog already, loved it. I’ll check out Severance.

I've never heard of this but it looks great.
Xanadu: Dragon Slayer II. You explore dungeons, kill hordes of monster, and get loads of loot. There's almost no story whatsoever.
I started on Tales of Vesperia 2 years ago, put 20 hours on it, then quit. Picked it up again 2 weeks ago and finally beat that game tonight.
OP's GIF just eminded me of Judith's boob physics in the game
Xillia 2. No matter how many times I go back to it I have a blast.

That looks NUTS.
Onto my backlog it goes!
Just beat DQ1 and now playing xenosaga
I'm enjoying both, one for the simplicity and the other for the... Not simplicity

I thought 4 was garbage, 3 is great though

I definitely got memed into this series from this place but glad, even if 3 and 4 could have been condensed into one game.
I've played CS1 recently, really a delightful game

Picrelated.
>Why was it so fun?
Lighthearted, phantasmagoric, and lewd.
I feel you man, had the same feel with 1.
How is a game with hardcore rape and even guro lighthearted?
Translation House reference or Japanese House reference?
What game is?

I see this is the contrarian safe space thread
How did you reach that conclusion?
read the post up above it
I remember this game on gamestop all the time as a kid, going home and googling it and jerking off to it all the time. Same with Godannar DVD covers

consider Enderal friend
the only good total conversion mod for TESV
Morrowind, Need more be said?
I've dreamt of Morrowind last night. Maybe that's a sign I should finally re-visit it again. Played it the last time 15 years ago.
This one was a banger. Can't believe it wasn't the MC's theme.
