seeing the mansion grounds start to build out was coolio(honestly it's probably my third favorite Suikocastle, after the ship in IV for novelty and North Window Castle of course) but being shoved into Thomas' shoes was kinda gay. I do like that he is ENTIRELY incapable of defending himself at first against even the most basic b***h enemies though. Does no damage, dies like a b***h. Needs cute little Cecile to protect him.

The story is solid, the gameplay has its moments but enemies have way too much health and do too much damage and the combat has very little variety. Worth picking up on sale though.

Outer Worlds, it wasn't so irredeemably horrible that i couldn't play it, but I also can't think of anything I liked about it. Characters where all meh, story was meh, quests were meh, locations, weapons, armor, all meh.
Felt like I was always on the verge of dropping it but somehow managed to finish it, maybe because it was relatively short.
Just saying, from a mechanics and lore standpoint, Hugo is the best choice. Though at least she as bad a choice as Geddoe. If you pick him Chris gets the lightning rune, which she also has not great affinity for, and Hugo gets the water rune, and his affinity for that is as bad or worse than Chris' fire affinity.
3 and 5 were mid, but they're still the best suikoden games
2 was overrated, 2 could have been the best, but the protagonist was very annoying, and he should have killed his gay friend at the beginning instead of dragging it throughout the game
I honestly don't remember much about 1 because it's been decades since I played it
4 was straight up bad, although the protag had the coolest runes of all suikoden protagonists
Even though he's a silent protagonist, he had set of premeditated actions that shape the story, it feels like the whole plot is geared to match his supposed personality.
Yes there are multiple endings but aside from that you don't get a ton of say in how things unfold, like I said, players should be allowed to kill Jowy at the beginning.
in a way, this is a similar case to FFT, with how Ramza lets Delita go in the end without giving players the choice of whether to spare him or not.

I don't think any Suikoden is really mid. 4 is obviously incomplete, but I still really enjoy it. Especially when you pair it with Tactics.
3 was better than 1 and 2.

Reminder that if you gave Chris or whatever the girl's name was the true fire rune you did it wrong. She has shit fire affinity.
