Not to be labeled as a snoy but I thought GOW's reception was fine. It didn't get too overly praised outside IGN shills and I never seen people constantly call it out to be a 10/10 game, just a game they enjoyed. BOTW got fricking praised to hell like it was the second coming of Christ. Stopped playing for months midway but it's a good game regardless, just never liked the obsessive praises it got.

Halo is mainly enjoyed for its multiplayer and there are some guys who love the campaign... meh. There aren't a LOT of people who love the campaign or think the story is 10/10 or something.

It's decent, because Naughty Dog is able to make enjoyable games but I didn't realize until much later how shit zombie games usually are. The presentation is what people love about that game, but The Walking Dead show came first so I wouldn't even call it original in that aspect. It's not up there with the classics, and ND has made better games

Only 3 I can consider good, but the challenge in all of them is having to overcome clunky controls to dodge/kill enemies or just to go upstairs. 3 a bit less.

Nah, Super Castlevania 4 is a good game but it got a lot of problems, i wouldn't put it above 1 and 3.
The knock back is not the problem, but "hey look at this bat, he is on top of you and there is nothing you can do if you don't have an axe", also "there are 2 monsters camping on top of the stairs and they are gonna mug you for some hit points so you can continue" are stupid ideas for challenge. You like it because of nostalgia.
All of those things can be avoided with practice tbh.
On Ganker, definitely Bloodborne. It's Dark Souls with a gothic skin, not the holy grail perfection of the formula it's made out to be.

(Continued): I think it's far for egregious that, for example, the Witcher 3 is considered "le bestest game ever" when it's gameplay alone is a 3/10. Bloodborne at least has 10/10 gameplay. Maybe the story and setting don't quite do it for you, but again, I think it's only a little overrated.
Story and setting are very good. It's exactly the gameplay/combat I don't find much above the typical Souls formula, which just isn't 10/10 by any stretch.
Yeah, try playing the Witcher 3 and then go back to Bloodborne. You'll think Bloodborne's gameplay is 100/10. Sometimes you need to play something that is putrid shit in order to appreciate something that's actually done right.

I'm going to be contrarian and say Shadow of the Colossus. Pretty much every game in this thread either has pretty good gameplay at best (yes GoW actually has good gameplay, you'd know it if you played it) or janky yet servicable gameplay at worst. Shadow of the Colossus on the other hand is just a bad video game through and through. It's a proto walking simulator with abominable abominably bad climbing mechanics tacked on to it where success or failure is dictated entirely by luck. It didn't sell a bajillion copies and normies don't care about it, but if you look at the reviews, if you look at it's appearance in every single top 100 video games ever list or just take a look at places like Ganker or other parts of the internet where "hardcore" gamers congregate, you'll see people with supposedly refined gaming palates pretending that SoTC is a masterpiece. Which is obviously the furthest thing from the truth.

The original Bioshock is the real overrated game. At least Bioshock Infinite is fun to play. The original is a fricking mess. Worst of all are the Big Daddy fights. It's the mascot of the game and it's absolutely filled with them but they're all fricking ass. You can just keep stunlocking them with electricity and blasting them with grenades over and over until they die. And yet everyone pretends it's one of the best games ever made.
