What's the most wholesome moment for you, in terms of /vr/ games?
For me it's Ridge Racer Type 4 playing as the Dig Racing Team
>Team has a reputation of being ass
>The owner continually complains or belittles your efforts to the point where you are almost replaced by another driver
>Despite all this Robert Chrisman, the manager, always tries to congratulate you on every small achievement
>When you finally win the Grand Prix the sensation is just amazing, for one because the Expert difficulty is no joke and because, the race host praises you for turning a dumpster fire team into the winners of the Grand Prix

GIANA WAKE UP! THE SUN HAS FRIGHTENED OFF THE NIGHT!
R4 has fantastically written stories for a racing game, yeah.
How do you best plan the route of unlocking all the cars?
Honestly I absolutely love everything about R4 EXCEPT how you unlock cars. Having to finish 2nd or 3rd on purpose is moronic
I can confirm this is actually really overrated. Frick me, what a monotonous piece of shit this game is. The same 3 minute races, on the same tracks, with the same cut scenes and the constant fricking loading, frick sake. This is one boring pile of vomit, do not be tempted to get it. It's from 1999 and needs to go back there. Great feel and great atmosphere but when it's this boring, it just doesn't matter.
Okay zoomer, you can go back to playing Starfield in 4k and the nth iteration of Skyrim, just don't cry anymore, please
I'm no zoomer, how about formulate an actual discussion defending this piece of shit. I'd love to see what shit you come up with to explain why doing the same 8 races over and over isn't the most mind numbing trash imaginable. How many of the 321 cars have you unlocked you autistic prick?
>doing the same 8 races over and over
8 tracks is a completely normal amount for arcade racers at the time, zoomie. Some of them had even less by 1998.
>mfw I play this game on a regular basis, at least twice a year
>mfw the tracks are so well done, the music is amazing and the driving is made just so right, it never really gets boring
Kek, you sound like you hate everything, zoomer.
>the same 8 races over and over
I've been playing Sega Rally sporadically since its release and it only has 4 tracks. Learn how to arcade bruv. If you race irl, chances are you're just gonna drive around the same circuit all the time.
The variety in one circuit on Sega Rally shits all over all 8 circuits in this
Go back.
Zoomie zoom zoom
>finish 2nd or 3rd on purpose
Wait, what?
Expert mode is not that hard. I beat the whole game from start to finish with all teams using drift tires. It's not that bad once you memorize the courses on your first two tries you start making turns earlier.
Good job anon. That being said, Dig is arguably harder with Grip tires. The shit handing is harder to overcome without drifting.
You'll still progress, but 3rd 3rd guarantees you'll only get an upgrade for an existing car instead of a new one. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing; being able to take your starter all the way to Stage 4 with 300kph racing is pretty cool, even if the performance is worse than any other Stage 4 car.
The story mode in RR4 always makes me feel good for making the captains happy by coming first. I feel like shit when I lose when they get all angry/sad.
For me it's the moments between Robo and Lucca in Chrono Trigger, especially when she repairs him the first time and after he spends centuries turning the desert into a forest.
what about when They finally get chrono back though?
The last boss of Monster World 4
Does it matter if you come 3rd 3rd or 2nd 2nd in the first heat
You get different cars, see
