There are always some each server and ERP autists are the kind of annoying homosexuals that, even if they are a very small minority, makes themselves known to the entire server without even trying. Atleast other types of autists sticks to themselves and normal ERPers don't ever do it outside of their apartment/house or /tell
About half the amount of FCs I've been in over tha last 6 years have all imploded thanks to drama that started with an autist ERP gone wrong or some woman/orbiters fricking shit up for everybody

In what way? As far as I know there's already not a huge variance in markets across data centers, so I can't see travel fricking them in any major way, but I'd like to hear your thoughts.
You should still do side story quests and I'd say the role quests and the Shadowbringers quest that you get for getting your characters to level 80 is worth it.
If you do everything story related (24 and 8 man raids, all jobs to 90, Eureka, Bozja, Primal boss fights, Hildibrand) it will still eat up a good amount of your sub time. If you're a major loregay you can throw crafting and gathering shit in the mix like beast tribe quests, custom deliveries, and the delivery quests that ShB and EW introduced. Personally don't think the latter is worth doing for story ALONE, but there is quite a bit of lore that doing these adds.

Most of the sidequests are pretty shit, both gameplay and story wise. But there are nuggets of fun to be had there, that much is true
I loved doing pretty much even Il Mheg sidequest since that entire zone was nothing but a MASSIVE lore dump on Norvrandt. I also liked the odd "LOL RANDUMB", like the one where you get to meet Hildis dad in the hotsprings in La Noscea and you get to see just how much alike they are before (potentially) even starting the Hildi questline

There's a lot of both. Though fairly easy to avoid if you find a guild that's devoid of either. If you're regularly using the duty finder and matching with randoms, or god forbid, actually wandering around the city states, you will doubtlessly have to endure both on a regular basis.
