its only selling point is sex don't act like it isn't
The series peaked with FSN and FHA, and it's all downhill from there.
Nasu allowing others who don't have history in writing VNs to write stories for Fate and consider them official work was a mistake.
No, it isn't.
have a nice day, FGOBlack person.
all those vns are shit and a slog to read through
I take it you didn't finish the VN, therefore, your opinion is irrelevant.
I only played the sfw versions of fate games, so no.
It has been around for 20 years and it has a grand total of 1 (one) video game that isn't awful.
EMIYA is a massive homosexual as proven by UBW.
>EMIYA is a massive homosexual as proven by UBW.
Explain?
Vanilla Extra is the only good thing Nasu has ever done
The best works of Nasu:
Tamamo route in Extra
Dawn Arc in Extella.
>Dawn Arc in Extella
Isn't that one on Sakurai?
It's definetely Nasu. Giantess fetish is a dead giveaway.
>Doesn't show as a playable character in Type Lumina despite being playable in several Melty Blood games before
Bros, I'm starting to think we won't be getting Sacchin route.in Tsuki Remake after all
Nasu lied as usual
>In Nasu’s mind, the most notable thing about Archer’s timeline is that he didn’t save Saber’s heart, but understood her
>permanently live rent-free in his mind
What a cuck
turned into such a shit show that's barely recognizable by whoever read the novels back then. At least Tsukihime seems to be walking a better path and thank god it didn't get an anime
Incorrect. Nasu wrote everything for that world before tsukihime. The things you think make it unrecognisable already existed in Nasu's lore.
All you're telling me is that it's his fault for Fate turning into shit
>all I know about Fate is there's a red guy that summons swords and the bad guy is Gilgamesh
Playing FSN blind was wild. I didn't even know Sakura was a magus.
Why did Shirou easily throw away his ideals in HF?
Hur dur dur embrace realism - Natsu
Eh?
TLDR, Natsu wants to write HF with theme of returning to reality where you can only save one person aka Sakura in this context. It’s moronic
His name is Nasu tho
Thats why its the Nasuverse
I know.
Fricking phone posting
I'm pretty sure it's Shirou realizes he can't save everybody and he should focus on saving someone that's close to him, basically the opposite of Kiritsugu
>I'm pretty sure it's Shirou realizes he can't save everybody and he should focus on saving someone that's close to him, basically the opposite of Kiritsugu
What were Kiritsugu's and Archer's mistakes?
Not fricking Saber
Unironically failing Saber relationship point check
Focusing on their ideals to the point of completely neglecting their own happiness
HF is fat and away from embracing realism when every single person tells you she can’t be saved, she has the devil baby inside of her, and shirou comes back from death in the end
That worm pussy ridiculous
He didn't really easily throw them away. And it was realism in the sense that he took Kiritsugu's dream and twisted it to something that wouldn't end up with him on that empty hill at the end of his life. It's just "Save everyone, but make sure Sakura is safe first." Only thing that changed is he made room for family.
I think it's supposed to be a more selfish choice, like "I'll save sakura even though it means she'll kill more people before I can" but then she doesn't kill actually kill any more innocents after he decides that so it doesn't feel like there's any difference in his actions
He already made a selfish choice in fate route and was only stopped by saber. Shirou, at his core, is a selfish person.
Why is Shirou being a nice guy portrayed as a bad thing? In the first scenes of OG fate you see Shirou going with the flow, being a pushover for the student council and the archery club (specifically shinji)
Why is Shirou clowned on by the cast for being a kind, selfless person?
He's not really clowned on, at least when people finally realize how insane he really is. It's most obvious in ubw and HF, but you see bits of it in fate as well.
>first thing he does after getting impaled by a spear is clean up the bloodstain
>constantly throws himself in the line of fire to save characters who are much more capable than him
>has 0 regard for his own life
selflessness=/=mental illness.
the reason Shirou got clowned on is because people don't understand him. Rin changed her mind as soon as she learned about his mental illness.
It's the same reasons why anime-only think Shirou is just simply a moron instead of a mentally ill moron. (Though, it doesn't help that the anime adaption butchered his characterization)
He's not kind in the good sense, he's sickenly kind of helpful for all the wrong reasons as a way to justify his existence and survival on top of his ideals which are pretty much a lost cause, hes not human but closer to a broken machine, Mitsuzuri pointed that out, he never smiles
Kinda hard to explain its more like acting on part like a program than a genuine smile, which he finally does after beating Archer and seeing Rin, also promotional artworks dont count, at least use the anime, its not like there arent many occasions
>i-it doesn't count because... it just is, okay?
holy mother of shit art, I also hate how shirou looks like a homosexual twink in all his modern iterations(barring muramasa)
He never had any ""ideals"" in the first place, he had programming. In fate he never examines his programming and simply follows through like a robot. In UBW he understands that he's basically a machine following set of instructions, but accepts it because he believes that his programming is ultimately benign. In HF he rejects his programming and becomes a real human being and a real hero
>Does that white flag stands for surrender?
Kek, classic
Those were barely his ideals, just stolen from Kiritsugu.
he never had to choose between saber/rin and his ideals, IMO if he was put into the same kinda situation in fate or bladeworks he would have done the same thing.
>if he was put into the same kinda situation in fate or bladeworks he would have done the same thing.
Basically this. Fate Shirou even mentioned that his heroic journey would end, had he met Saber again.
e-cups
it's an overrated eroge
>implying fans know it started as an eroge series
Bone? Did you mean bane?
See you fall/ semester Mike
It's kino and lostbelt 6 shows that Nasu's still got it. I love that crazy chinaman
No need to explain anything when one image suffices.
>accept any situation where he has to let people die
Did the moron who make this even read the basement part in Fate Route?
To be fair, the people in the basement were beyond saving, and there was nothing Shirou could do to save them.
I don’t just mean the victims in the basement itself.
It’s what Fate route Shirou learns from the basement. That lesson stops him from becoming Archer even though he went through a similar path.
>It’s what Fate route Shirou learns from the basement
Why didn't this come up in UBW or HF?
Probably because he doesn't share memories across the routes
Because the other Shirou didn’t see the orphans.
Saber is associated with summer (youth, vigor, sunny stuff). Saber and Shirou fought as a team in the ending of Fate. Servant vs Servant, Master vs Master as any actual battle in a Grail War should be fought for. Both fought their foils and beat their respective nemesis. But they briefly crossed paths, and learned a great deal from each other in their short time together, then went their separate ways and moved on. Saber got peace, and Shirou had his whole life to look forward to.
Rin is associated with autumn (wisdom, maturity, transitions), while nothing is fully resolved for Shirou, he's now more aware of himself and also older (finished a school year) waiting for the future. Shirou pitting his ideals against Archer and learning from the experience so that he doesn't end up like the latter. The classroom is bathed on red hues of afternoon (kind of fall-color scheme). Rin and Shirou both essentially struggling with the legacy of their fathers. Shirou struggles with Kiritsugu's ideal and Rin's struggles are about Tokiomi and how he left her the family legacy to tend to. And both resolve their struggles by realizing that the reason they latched onto their fathers' legacies in the first place was because it made them happy. Rin found magic fun and Shirou envied Kiritsugu's happiness when he saved him.
Ilya is associated with winter (death, snow, cold, etc), and winter symbolizes 'rest', as well as life's passing. Irisviel and Illyasviel and Justeaze are homunculi created by the Einzberns to fulfill their wish and achieve the third true magic. Justeaze was sacrificed to become the core of the Greater Grail, and Irisviel and Illyasviel were created based on Justeaze and can be thought of as successor models of Justeaze to be sacrificed as the Lesser Grail.
Sakura is associated with spring (renewal, rebirths, healing, flowers). Canon wife. Should be obvious, Shirou died and rebirth in this route.
Bravo Nasu
Ok so how come there's no Illya route?
>EMIYA: the same as kiritsugu but it happens infinitely and the larger group are all pedophiles and murderers
whoever was maddened enough by Fate's bullshit to make this image, I'm right there with them
frick this flip-flopper spastic and frick Nasu's pretty platitudes to justify whatever Shirou decides to do
Hot take but LB6 is better than FSN
I haven't read a single chapter past Septum
The first 5 singularities aren't very good, 6 and especially 7 are actually good.
For the pseudo singularities: shinjuku is decent, it has probably my favourite use of noble phantasm rules in the series. Agartha sucks. Shimousa is ok. Salem was neat.
Part 2: LB1 is ok, 2 had a few really cool ideas but wasn't very special otherwise. 3 was meh, 4 was pretty good, 5 is kino, 6 is easily the best Fate thing since the VN.
Shimousa is fricking awful, full on Musashi wank and her popularity means that we will never get an actual authentic Musashi in Fate. I have read his books and he is a far more interesting person than the gender bent shonen moron that took his place.
She becomes less worse over time but I hate how she's shoved down in many stories and gets a main role, at least Dantes knows to keep to the sidelines or at least be interesting when he takes center stage.
She is hot however.
>her popularity means that we will never get an actual authentic Musashi in Fate
If you got at least one instance of an actual male Arthur, I think Authentic Musashi has a shot of popping up. It strikes me as odd how often they bring up Musashi vs the real deal without it at least alluding to the two possibly, maybe meeting in some way.
>Shimousa is fricking awful, full on Musashi wank and her popularity means that we will never get an actual authentic Musashi in Fate
Wasn't there speculation that Samurai Remnant was the authentic Musashi as the MC going through his journey?
The MC in Samurai Remnant is confirmed to be Iori, the real Musashi's foster son and student
Ah damn, hadn't heard about that.
i still like the fsn cast more but lb6 is the best thing to come out of the franchise in a while. the strange/fake anime looks promising too.
QRD on LB6?
TOTAL FAE DEATH
kill some motherfricking fairies
Minimal spoilers
I guess you could look at it as "artoria but she's forced into the role of thankless saviour instead of choosing it". With a lot of interesting lore and characters as well. They include a timeline that you can review at any time because it has such a detailed history.
Also this
>They include a timeline that you can review at any time because it has such a detailed history.
Does this apply to other Lost Belts? Alternate histories are interesting.
No because the whole thing with lostbelts is that they're failed timelines because they stagnate. There's generally one big event that made things diverge and then the society just remains unchanged with no significant events for thousands of years. LB6 is unique in how much history it has.
LB6 didn't stagnant cause it wasn't a lost belt.
it was a lostbelt until Morgan became queen, there was still 10k years of history before that. Probably because there was no single ruler and Faeries are chaotic psychos
Theres no quick rundown for a 60 hours vn
I don't know
Detroit Emiya is cool.
LB6 is easily one of the best things nasu has written since FSN.
Brought down by having fgo protag there
Guda is certainly improved from the literal walking camera he was before but yeah. If anything the reason why LB6 was so good was because it was a virtually separate work forced into the fgo mold, and it shows, particularly when the worst parts are all fgo-derived/originated.
What exactly caries over to Extra CCC if you have a vanilla Fate save file?
Anyone else hate Medb but like Cnoc na Riabbh
All of humanity is indeed Rome
Getting milked by Nero...
Getting castrated by Nero…
FSN is still a great way to detect zoomers.
How?
They can't read so they don't know what happens in it. FSN is longer than Lord of the Rings. It's almost as long as all Harry Potter books put together. You can't just read a wiki article and fake it.
the adaptations exist, you know
Yes, and they barely cover 25% of the VN, if that.
???
Expository scenes, Shiro's and other characters' internal monologue, flashbacks/visions/dreams, slice of life scenes, etc. are all gone.
Sounds very bloated and like it doesn’t need to be that long.
Oh and obviously the Fate route has never been adapted.
>Nasu: I will say that Rin was my favourite character when I was writing the story. Rin is like Aoko in so many aspects that it felt good to write Rin's story. Of course, Rider showed up shortly after that and everything went to hell. With regard to Saber, writing her story was always nerve-wracking because I knew she was really important to Takeuchi. Whenever an artist gets attached to a specific character, it's really stressful for me to write that character's portion of the overall story. I guess the added stress comes from the feeling that the character no longer belongs to just me, and that I need to meet someone's high expectations as I flesh them out. I noticed I was constantly pushing myself to do "better" while I was writing Saber's story. In contrast, I felt so much freedom when writing Rin's story.
>Nasu: Typical Urobuchi... I really can't pull the wool over your eyes... I intended to take that to the grave with me, but I guess this 10-year anniversary is a good place to talk about it. Just like Urobuchi-san said, it's difficult to call the relationship between Shirou and Saber a relationship between a man and a woman. Saber has fought for a long time as the ruler of Britain, but then turned into a girl all of a sudden and fell in love with Shirou. It's pretty ridiculous when you think about it. But I really wanted to push it towards that sort of boy-meets-girl story. So as a last resort, I had Shirou continually say things to her like "But you're a girl," and "Girls aren't supposed to fight," in order to remind the users that "she is really a girl." It's like the author's actually the one trying to convince Saber that she's a girl... I feel like I could have written it a lot better now, but that was the best I could do at the time.
Nasu hates the original FATE route and has been trying to rewrite it ever since it was released.
All adaptations skip the internal monologue and the subtler parts of confrontations in the vn which made up most of the characters work
There's a reason why shirou is so divisive because because most of his character is explored and developed internally and he hardly ever talks about it, people who started with the vn have a completely different perspective of those who started with the anime
This goes for many other characters too
>FSN is longer than Lord of the Rings. It's almost as long as all Harry Potter books put together.
It really doesn't feel that long.
That's because it has three routes.
I like Archer
I love his boyfriend Lancer
Why do women love Lancer
you know what they say about women and dogs...
There is no actual scientific proof that women are more prone to dog fricking
>trusting science
Sure there isn’t.
I don't think you could get funding for that scientific research
Sounds like what a dogfricker would say.
He is playful like a dog
And you just KNOW
Illya
18yo hag
Illya is best. Only the VNs are good. Gacha girls are sex slaves.
she was pimped out in Prisma Illya
FSN Illya and Prisma are completely different characters.
no one really cares when they're jerking off
best girl
its cool
doridoridori
F/SN and F/HA are excellent VNs. Rest don't really matter.
Correct.
I only read FS/N and watched Zero.
I like S/N but Urobuchi's interpretation of my favorite character sucked so frick Zero.
Read Hollow Ataraxia, it adds a lot of info to the characters and introduces one of the best characters Nasu written
I want to be cool like archer
Well you can’t.
F/SN is the only VN I go back to to reread scenes from because some of them are just too kino. I'm trying to get through HA but it's pretty hard for me to get into for some reason.
>read FSN for like 15 hours enjoying the story
>suddenly shown Saber ass
>I now remember this is an eroge
Did Nasu just write porn scenes for Tsukihime and Fate because he felt like it? I thought it was supposed to be a selling point, but by the time I get to them I'm already committed to staying on the ride for everything else going on in the VN.
iirc he didn't even want sex scenes, but he felt compelled to add them for the game to sell better
later versions of the game would replace the events with SFW versions
Chuuni cringekino, at least up until grand order, at which point it just became cringe.
It is kinda weird that we are stuck with the old deen adaptation being the only adaptation of the fate route.
It’s for the best because the UFO adaptations aren’t good either
I'm glad I've found somebody who agrees. I feel like I am taking crazy pills sometimes when people wax poetic about how great ufotable is, when they can't direct an action sequence to save their damn lives.
nta, but I honestly never enjoy Ufo HF sasuga fights.
>muh colorful laser beam
>muh camera shaking
The Berserker vs Saber Alter fight makes me actually cringe with the constant massive explosions everywhere. They just throw away all the meaning and subtext of the fight for DUDE NUKES LMAO. And my friends are all sakugagays who jack off to it.
I’ve never seen the HF movies because I saw a webm of the cavern sequence at the end and the 2D Sakura on the 3D background looked awful. The way the camera moved looked awful too. I’ve heard so many good things about saber alter vs berserker but I can’t imagine any of them are true
I watched 30 seconds. Reminds me of adhd zoomercore
had to speed up and quick cut the clip to avoid copyright take down.
As someone who got forced into watching the movie, they are beyond fricking awful. UFO butchered everything they could, the only good things about the movies are the theme songs, and that one single second of Saber muttering "Ah... Shirou" at the end of the cavern fight
I like fate for the character moments and none of them hit in the adaptations
Completely inferior to nitroplus
then make your own threads troon
FSN and HA are fantastic, everything else is mid with some good designs sprinkled throughout
yes, that includes Zero. It's noncanon, contradictory garbage
Zero is the only good fate content btw
I regret wasting my time with this shit series. It's only good for fap material.
you some kinda moron?
fate is fricking awful for fap material
fricking defenseless anus lmao
it's really about chuunishit power systems
I'm talking about the porn based off Fate characters not the shitty VN H scenes
>fate
>fap material
it's one of the most awkward porno shit I have ever read.
Unironically worse than fanfiction porns.
Why do they keep selling the cups like this?
Aren't holy grails supposed to be sacred?
Filling the cups with my adult fat smelly disgusting goopey manaless semen!!
Tell Gilles that
i find the twist that shirou abandoned people to die in the fire to be mostly moronic. considering he is 7 or 8 years old when it happen.
