They take over successful wikis and install ads to mooch off the success. Last I heard the minecraft wiki was considering jumping ship to a new one.

      They already moved actually https://minecraft.wiki/

Any good community needs a non-fandom wiki at this point.

Lots of people are jumping ship, but this is at least the second time that this has happened. It will just keep happening because people are greedy and will eventually sell.

Rent seekers who don't care about wiki quality so long as they can leach some ad money off those who click the first thing off google with no adblocker.

If you aren’t looking up random Dr. Who, Marvel, and Harry Potter facts on your phone, why are you even here? Please find another hive of scum and villainy to heal the arrow in your knee and spare us your major malfunctions, n’wah. We don’t need, want, or tolerate that kind of negativity on Ganker. *gives you the evil eye*

Them and Fextra have killed online wikis, I hate them both
Peak video game documentation was unironically when you had to dig through someone's text walkthrough on gamefaqs and old forums where the user found the most obscure shit and documents it like
    >ohhh yaaa i found dis in a chest too! very kewl ^^ good stats on it!

It could be worse. They could be like fextralife and just AI generate a bunch of pages full of inaccurate information.
Their BG3 wiki is near completely unusable because of this. At least that game has an alternative.

      >start a new wiki without any ads, lock everyone out except yourself
      >copy everything from fandom onto new wiki. make corrections as needed
      >advertise your new wiki on fandom and other popular communities
      >watch fandom seethe as they can't do anything about it

Also i know it's a pretty small community but the Koei Tecmo wiki (Dynasty Warriors and spinoffs, Wo Long, D&A) has migrated recently.

I wish the Civ wiki also moved.

"My games" page, they removed almost all the filters from there, they removed all sorting options, they removed almost everything from the list itself, you can get soft-banned for a few minutes just by opening the "play queue" page if you have too many games there, the only way to check average game stats is by mouse hovering over your stats, and another small stuff.

tl;dr the collection is almost unusable now when it was perfectly usable before fandom israelites fricked up everything

They're still fine. For now. Pray they won't do anything to the biggest and the oldest internet archive of vidya guides. Which is now belongs to the homosexuals running fandom wikis.

Not my problem. People really should their own wiki though , fandom is cancer
