I played the original a long time ago yet I still remember his grab move here he grabs the opponent by the face, holds them up, brings his sword to their head and shoots them. You see the bullet fall out effect.

There's also a move where he stabs and shoots IIRC
Vash, then Vincent and Alucard (Vincent beat him by only a few months funnily enough)
>Hellsing
1997
Final fantasy 7
1997 >Trigun
1995 >Fate Stat Night >2003
Devil May Cry 3

Are the 90s characters close enough to each other that they were already being designed separately without taking inspiration from each other?
Or did they go watch Trigun, and then separately go inspired to create Vincent and Alucard?
They should've just reused Trish's animations for Dante. Since her animations are just DMC1 Dante animations which are much better than the dogshit ones for Dante in 2. But I guess modding tools aren't there yet.
It's funny. Reminds me of all those modders fixing Need for Speed Undercover. Polishing a turd is fun for modders since whatever you do to it you won't ruin the game.
>What’s up with the redundant red trench coat + dual pistols character design?
because it always cool
its only ruined by the personality of the character itself
Ceras, she's supposed to be the one the viewer projects on, I'd assume a game would be no different.
But it should let you play as Alucard once or twice, like maybe if you keep on getting defeated by a boss, just to show how OP he is.
Resident Evil type A and B scenarios where its basically the same game with two different characters, but each character has minor differences for their route.
Also, Alucard's bullshit OP hax are balanced by his power being sealed most of the time.
Alucard was apparently completely accidental, his creator completely forgot that Trigun (which was still running at the time) had a character with the same big gun, yellow glasses, red trench coat look. He only realized it at all because critics complained and called him a hack.
Here's another fun fact, Alucard, Seras, Jan, and Anderson's two sidekick girls were originally created for hentai.
>Trigun had a character with the same big gun(s), yellow glasses, red trench coat look
It’s actually the black and white pistols that really cements the plagiarism
He probably saw it, thought it was badass, and forgot what it was from. Then later he was designing a character he drew that, thinking it was his own idea, not realizing he accidentally stole it. I've done that plenty of times myself when designing characters or writing.
>plagiarism
Dante was an amalgamation of several different things. In nipland they love "making references" to other things. DMC3 Dante specifically was heavily inspired by a particularJap action movie, going as far as having some of Dante's moveset borrowed directly from the movie, and then when that movie had some kind of re-release, they payed it back, and did what they could to make the main character resemble Dante even more. It's a friendly game of nodding back and forth at each other.
Yeah it's not like the west where everyone acts like a bunch of self-entitled morons who think they invent things out of the ether and are never influenced by anything. Japan fully realizes all knowledge comes from somewhere and pays respects to what they take inspiration from.
It's the west that holds a strange cognitive dissonance that hate anything that's not 100% accurate to the source while calling anything that is plagiarism.
red and black are cool colors
a trench coat is also an aesthetic and versatile piece of clothing, stylish in motion and looks professional at times too
whats your problem?
Cute.
I made a black and red mech in Armored Core 6 with dual pistols and sword backup but I uninstalled the game so I can't show it. I named it Redgrave.
I enjoy the colors red and black when they're together
Based. If you have no edge, you're just dull.
Ragna doesn't use pistols idiot
Yeah but he’s still a shitty blatant dante rip off. The rest on the image are cool and original though.
It's cool
His sword is a revolver gunblade that can also transform into a scythe lol
I don't recall any of his moves shooting the gun.
I played the original a long time ago yet I still remember his grab move here he grabs the opponent by the face, holds them up, brings his sword to their head and shoots them. You see the bullet fall out effect.
I feel dumb for never realizing.
There's also a move where he stabs and shoots IIRC
the big red cylindder is a revover thing and in some of the concept are you can see it ejecting shells like sols sword would do in later games
Because I keep asking for it.
Because it’s fricking cool.
Dante and Redman are objectively the only good characters from that pic
Alucard and Vash are great too.
Alucard is cringe
why is there a blank spot in your picture between dante and sol biggay
Dante clears all of them
Pizza cowabunga ?
People only one Dante who wears read because the original Dante did. The others are literal whos
I unironically like all the characters in this pic to varying degrees
going with Alucard though because Joji Nakata is based
Who came first?
Vash, then Alucard, then Dante
How is this not different than Sonichu
Trigun came before Dante so Dante is the ripoff
>one is an almost militant pacifist
>one is a psychotic cannibal
>one is a frat boy with daddy issues
>>one is a psychotic cannibal
Is vampirism just a cooler, more politically correct name for cannibalism?
it's not really caniballism when you're not human anymore, it's kind of the point.
Seras because she is hot
They're actually well designed and have genuinely interesting personalities behind all the cool edgy bullshit
Are the 90s characters close enough to each other that they were already being designed separately without taking inspiration from each other?
Or did they go watch Trigun, and then separately go inspired to create Vincent and Alucard?
I assume their basic concepts were already solidified but they did take some inspiration from Vash for sure.
Vash, then Vincent and Alucard (Vincent beat him by only a few months funnily enough)
>Hellsing

1997
>Trigun

Devil May Cry 3
2005
Blazblue
2013
DMC1 had a more iconic black+red design and that released in 2001
Redman was obviously inspired by Dante.
Ironically enough all of these characters are pretty different.
BB is from 2008
Oh my bad
Alucard actually predates Hellsing by a year. He debuted in a hentai manga called Legends of vampire Hunter in 1996.
>They haven't "changed" yet
>I'll "dispose" of them
You just know OP is a soulsgay, They're the only group that jumps to conclusions like that.
>european armor hmm must be a dark souls reference
Kino color combinations?
RED + BLACK
ORANGE + WHITE
GREY + YELLOW
BLACK + GREEN
>ORANGE + WHITE
>GREY + YELLOW
post examples of these
>ORANGE + WHITE
Quintessential funky Y2K color combination for futuristic shit. Together with cyan blue + white.
>GREY + YELLOW
Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker. Slapping yellow accents/minimal lines on anything gunmetal grey and militaristic is kinoa.
>>GREY + YELLOW
Red and White
Green and Black
> PURPLE +GREEN
thanks doc
>BLACK + GREEN
I AM MY SCARS
White/blue/gold.
The holiest combination.
white/gold needs to be on that list
They literally fixed everything bros. We're allowed to like DMc2 now holy frick!
kek I wasn't aware of this

modding trannies ruin everything they touch
>What’s up with the redundant red trench coat + dual pistols character design?
because it always cool
its only ruined by the personality of the character itself
Dante did it better
I'm a more refined and dignified gentleman so for it's the Tony Redgrave short jacket that let's me larp as trunks from DBZ.
ENTER
The colors red and black when worn by people do this weird psychological trick into making the person seem more dominant by others.
If there was a Hellsing game, would it make more sense to play as Alucard or Seras?
Would depend on the type of game really, but I imagine most would let you play as both in some capacity at least
Kinda like Gungrave
Ceras because Alucard is too OP
Ceras, she's supposed to be the one the viewer projects on, I'd assume a game would be no different.
But it should let you play as Alucard once or twice, like maybe if you keep on getting defeated by a boss, just to show how OP he is.
Seras
Mainly Seras with some Alucard sections where he's wildly OP and nothing stands a chance.
Both. You unlock Alucard after completing the game so you can have fun with godmode cheat.
Resident Evil type A and B scenarios where its basically the same game with two different characters, but each character has minor differences for their route.
Also, Alucard's bullshit OP hax are balanced by his power being sealed most of the time.
someone please post the picture of the vergin like characters
it's cool
if anything ragna is a rip off of this frickin idiot
peak

yes i saw it a while ago actually , seras is way better then the hentai seras though.
>Trigun had a character with the same big gun(s), yellow glasses, red trench coat look
It’s actually the black and white pistols that really cements the plagiarism
But Vash only has one pistol. His bro has the other.
sshh, you're ruining my flawless argument

I thought red was a warm color?
i meant cool as in just the style not the color temp ok
I always felt color theory was gay and made up by a bunch of bored housewives
Cute.
I made a black and red mech in Armored Core 6 with dual pistols and sword backup but I uninstalled the game so I can't show it. I named it Redgrave.
>Ok, Mr. Nintendo
>NOOOOOOO NOT LIKE THAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT
