The Switch can't get a single native port of a AAA game made in the last 5 years, meanwhile the Deck is having them get verified weekly. The cloud save syncing and shared library between Deck and PC is unbeatable, and the variety of games you can play portably is more interesting too. Plus gyro support for literally everything instead of 2-3 games on the entire platform. Plus mods. Plus not having to pay nintendo tax on every game. Plus not having to pay to use your own internet. Plus integrated remote play, family sharing, steam workshop. Plus the ability to use any digital storefront you want and having a completely open system you can do whatever you want to without the need for jailbreaking. Plus emulation and piracy.
No point in owning a switch unless a handful of nintendo first party games is the only thing you care about.

That is certainly one of the reasons. Though not the primary reason. Consoles are uncomplicated, PC requires commitment and cumulative hours upon hours of setting things up. You can blame normals all you want, but not everyone has the time or the disposition for this shit. Emulation performance goes where demand is. BOTW is not improved of on yuzu/ryujinx because it's already a flawless experience on cemu. Most of these emulator devs really focus on making the experience better for the games that everyone actually wants to play. Then Nintendo slowly rearranged the dates & released their games accordingly to fill in the gaps that are left wide open by the other consoles. XC3 would've been massacred during its original release date, but it now has a chance in July. July for Splatoon 3 would've made the most sense since most kids would have 2 months over their summer vacations to play it. Nintendo prob figured that Splat 3 is going to sell no matter what, no matter what time of year. I think this is also why Nintendo didn't even bother with a direct & most likely pushed most of their games to 2023, because they knew if they announced the new Fire Emblem, Metroid Prime remake, Zelda Toilet Princess & Wind Waker, that nobody would even buy XC3 with those other games coming out a few months later.
