Skyrim has reached over 60 million sales not counting DLC sales, and Fallout 4 over 20 million. The only thing that comes close is the Witcher 3 with 50 million sales but that number is inflated with DLC sales, even Fallout 4 would reach that number if they included DLC sales.
The games are also some of the most actively played games on PS3, 360, Switch, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC under all metrics, modded and unmodded.
They have all consistently won GOTY awards aswell, it's not wonder that a company with such a legacy, userbase, and fanbase, would have such hype behind them, that isn't even paid political shills like BG3 trannies.

it really isn't. Skyrim was one of the last RPGs made where the people that made it actually understood the underlying systems and their importance. Sadly this was not continued in fallout 4 where the dev team forced through the settlement building mechanics to the detriment of the rest of the game, having reportedly become mesmerized by the building system which was originally supposed to be mod tools to make custom maps like neverwinter nights.
This culminated in another massive failure when the team was tasked with making an online MMO type game which the dev team actively sabotaged

If you like Bethesda-style games I think it'll be their best release since Skyrim. If you didn't like Skyrim you will probably not like Starfield. It looks far better than Fallout 4 both graphically and in terms of features/gameplay by pretty much every metric though.

I've enjoyed most of the Bethesda RPG's in some way or another even with whatever flaws they might have had, and the idea of a bigger version with their own IP is something I am looking forward to. It might be shit who knows but I do know its not going to be Elite or NMS, and thats a good thing from my perspective. Even if the space combat bits are an arcade shooter minigame, thats ok to me. Even if I have to load an area on a planet after an hour of fricking around, thats okay too.

I think the game is going to be fine if you like bethesda games. None of these "leaks" come as a surprise if you know how the creation engine works. I just know itll have quests, detailed dungeons to explore and some possibly fun/broken builds to play with and thats all I really give a shit about.
