I played both. Spyro on release in 1998 and the new one last month.

spyro was always pretty meh. at least the remake plays better. graphics thing is mostly nostalgia gayging and is pretty subjective.
anyway it's games aimed for little kids. i'm pretty sure if you give a kid choice which one to play, he'll play the remake
This. It goes the same for later entries in series. As I grow older I find myself preferring the more simplistic, barebones games such as Spyro 1 instead of 2/3, Crash 1/2 instead of 3, Abe's Oddysee instead of Exoddus, Ratchet and Clank 1/2 instead of 3. When I was a kid it was the other way around. I always like the later releases because it had more stuff in it. Not to sound like a gay but I think growing older means appreciating videogames more as art rather than game.

For me, Rayman simply looks better. In this case I've played both games.

Idiotic juxtaposition. I referred to added details of "the same" game, one original, one remade by a completely different people with different tools while you are comparing two games with distinct ideas. At least use mario all stars as an example instead of rayman.
Understandable, its something you have to see what the rest of the game on the bottom looks like to understand. OP's pic doesn't really show off what the game REALLY looks like. Also a lot of the characters, especially the dragons look like something from deviantArt and gay baragays wet dream.
I think top looks better because it makes you use your imagination to wonder what lies beyond.
There's nothing wrong with being a bottom, right?
