If you watched the video, he already did that to get perfect stats, and then when he realized that he cheated wrong, he cheated better stats.
The video series is about if it's possible, so showing that it's only possible with the 1/1000000 odds.
some attacks are incapable of harming types at all and the mon's overall stats are tied to the race, this one in particular is a failure. these games are designed better than you think
i don't watch them but i enjoy the creativity. when games are so well created that they're essentially solved, the limitations give way to creative new ways to play and i'm all for that shit. new pokemon games will NEVER have this level of SOUL.
autists dont understand the point of the video, in 99% of the videos its not a super mega challenge requiring god tier gaming skills its just a fun little run with a few quirks and someone interesting/funny* commentating over it
*sometimes** the person commentating is not interesting/funny
I recently started doing a less autistic version of that, and played through each gen only using bug pokemon.
pretty fun actually.
Pokemon is a lot more fun when you deviate from the intended way to play
One thing that Pokemon does well is that you can technically beat the game with any type of team you want. And you have +150 to +1000 pokemon to choose from.
it's funny when people say pokemon games are too easy while also building teams of pseudo legendaries, abusing set up moves and playing on shift instead of set
I just did a playthrough of Brilliant Diamond and the Cynthia battle was genuinely a real challenge when using Pokemon like Lumineon and cherrim
Speaking of YT garbage. Completionist is truly one of the worst. So he spent 500 hours on Persona 5. And what does he have to show for it? A video that contains nothing but generic review filler. I'm not gonna watch your shit if you've got nothing original to bring. Anyone else annoyed by this? What's the point of doing something 'original' if you're just going to talk about things in the manual.
they're fun if the person playing does a bunch of insane shit to accomplish their goal. If they just play through and it's slightly tough and they do smaller work arounds then it's boring. I want to see shit like skyrim bucket flying and other crazy game breaking glitches.
weedle is actually worse than caterpie for this, and yes you can do it
i did it once for shits and giggles, you have to grind for like 10 hours just to beat brock and its super annoying because you have to cancel the evolution every time you level up
maybe, admittedly i did it like 15 years ago. i mostly just remember that it was easy after brock because i had to grind so much that the rest of the game just rolled over
You literally get walked by rest as dewgong has infinite pp
I watched seer's video yesterday and it was pretty funny but it's because it was seer and not because it was pokemon. I wish he'd make the second part to his jrpg video.
I watched a bunch of Elden Ring videos like this recently and they're mostly fun, occasionally they'll be clearly too easy for the person doing them or they're just tedious like "punching only".
But it led me to discover "bingo" 1v1 runs, something I had no clue existed but after watching a few I think it's fricking brilliant.
I only like these videos when the challenge is actually absurd, and makes you wonder how the hell the game is even supposed to function under those restrictions. Like when I see the video title I don't want to go "yeah probably I guess?" I want to go "what the frick is wrong with the person who made this?"
>What's you are opinion on these "can you beat GAME while doing X" challenge videos?
Depends on the challenge and the solution used in the video.
A lot of those videos highlight tactics, abilities, items, exploits that you'd never learn about playing the game normally. It can be quite fun to watch.
Other videos just brute force it, which is fricking boring. Doesn't matter if it's hoping for good rng or playing absolutely perfect in action games, either way it's just a snore.
>grinds caterpie to level 100
>spams items
woooooow
I haven't watched the video, it was just on the top of my feed and inspired this thread, but the guy never uses items afaik.
Items are banned and even at 100 it literally doesn't work, in RBY you get stuck at the ghost tower and in FRLG you can't beat the E4 even at 100
Just use save states, and save scum for critical hits. You can get through the E4.
>Just use save states,
might as well cheat
If you watched the video, he already did that to get perfect stats, and then when he realized that he cheated wrong, he cheated better stats.
The video series is about if it's possible, so showing that it's only possible with the 1/1000000 odds.
you did NOT complete the video game
>verification not required.
It's a video series about the technical possibility. It's not about "beating".
Then you didn't watch it, because he did.
Actually he said that he stopped using save states for Lance. So he just quit doing it.
He didnt use save state because he wanted to make humanly possible, not just statistically possible.
In that video he DID use save states and it wasnt feasible
>save scum for critical hits
Doesn't help nearly as much as you think for shitmons
Then you didn't watch the video, because that's how he got through the first 3 E4 members.
>verification not required.
That's not a sign of quality, it means you spam your stupid shit elsewhere.
it's usually the most boring, predictable solution possible in these videos
No item. More or less, he just abuse Struggle.
some attacks are incapable of harming types at all and the mon's overall stats are tied to the race, this one in particular is a failure. these games are designed better than you think
he also kinda cheated and gave his caterpie slightly higher hp than it should ever have and just kinda glosses over it in the video lol
I do all sorts of challenge runs when I replay games, but I don't watch youtube poop
struggle is normal type in rby so I think this is possible
i don't watch them but i enjoy the creativity. when games are so well created that they're essentially solved, the limitations give way to creative new ways to play and i'm all for that shit. new pokemon games will NEVER have this level of SOUL.
I like that dude's enthusiasm, but I always skip around to just the highlights and the final battles
I like watching OSRS videos.
I Got 99 Mining Without A Pickaxe And It Only Took 7,000 Hours!!!!!!!!! You'll Never Guess What Chunk I Unlocked!!!
Sounds great. Link the vid.
you're going to get stuck at pokemon tower
his voice sucks and the videos are very repetitive
He's a ~~**~~
autists dont understand the point of the video, in 99% of the videos its not a super mega challenge requiring god tier gaming skills its just a fun little run with a few quirks and someone interesting/funny* commentating over it
*sometimes** the person commentating is not interesting/funny
**oftentimes

>Pokemon is a lot more fun when you deviate from the intended way to play
this. nuzlockes are peak.
One thing that Pokemon does well is that you can technically beat the game with any type of team you want. And you have +150 to +1000 pokemon to choose from.
The only way I can enjoy the games anymore is with a "no experience points" mod
it's funny when people say pokemon games are too easy while also building teams of pseudo legendaries, abusing set up moves and playing on shift instead of set
I just did a playthrough of Brilliant Diamond and the Cynthia battle was genuinely a real challenge when using Pokemon like Lumineon and cherrim
>Can you beat GAME without X
>Video starts with the guy explaining how he's still going to do X at certain times
I never watch them, and eventually fade from my feed.
only watched a short bit of 3 different videos, there's always a trick or glitch that trivializes the whole "challenge", it's fricking stupid
I liked a video beating shovel knight without collecting coins
Speaking of YT garbage. Completionist is truly one of the worst. So he spent 500 hours on Persona 5. And what does he have to show for it? A video that contains nothing but generic review filler. >Completionist
He was for normalgays that don't play games. Now he's for jail for commiting charity fraud.
he's not in jail, moron
they're fun if the person playing does a bunch of insane shit to accomplish their goal. If they just play through and it's slightly tough and they do smaller work arounds then it's boring. I want to see shit like skyrim bucket flying and other crazy game breaking glitches.
Content creators gotta eat too. I mean I don't watch that shit and I use adblock but hey they gotta crank something out.
they get old quick
>Terraria complete pacifist run
>just does damage exclusively with minions
>uses multiple mods to make summoner build easier and stronger
I don't watch them because they're obvious clickbait slop just like 99.999% of everything else on yachube.
weedle is actually worse than caterpie for this, and yes you can do it
i did it once for shits and giggles, you have to grind for like 10 hours just to beat brock and its super annoying because you have to cancel the evolution every time you level up
Weedle is worse at the beginning but can make it past Lavender, unlike caterpie
Neither can beat the elite 4 however
you kill ghosts with struggle my dude
weedle is worse, also the elite 4 is easy you just need a bunch of full restores
>you kill ghosts with struggle my dude
Not in gen 1 replay it
maybe, admittedly i did it like 15 years ago. i mostly just remember that it was easy after brock because i had to grind so much that the rest of the game just rolled over
just gotta wait for rng
You literally get walked by rest as dewgong has infinite pp
Struggle is treated as normal type in gen 1
my bad bro
that makes sense why i did a weedle run then
I watched seer's video yesterday and it was pretty funny but it's because it was seer and not because it was pokemon. I wish he'd make the second part to his jrpg video.

Jrose is one of the best at it. I don't watch many, but I will always watch his because I want to see him accomplish his goal.
I only like these videos when the challenge is actually absurd, and makes you wonder how the hell the game is even supposed to function under those restrictions. Like when I see the video title I don't want to go "yeah probably I guess?" I want to go "what the frick is wrong with the person who made this?"
Enter:
There's a guy who proved it works on original console too and then did Johto as well.
>What's you are opinion on these "can you beat GAME while doing X" challenge videos?

don't mind me just posting best bug
I liked the one where the dude beat Mega Man 8 with just the shitty ball weapon.
The only ones I ever watched were from Mitten Squad and he just died.
The answer is generally "yes"
Youtubeslop.
If goytube was demonetized all those parasites would disappear.
>money LOWERS quality
games for this feel?
Cringe if pokemon
Those videos are pretty annoying
