I'm playing it right now.
read the books first and they fricking sucked so i have no interest to try the games
Yes the Witcher books are trash. But the first game has a very good story.
t. book reader
The first book that was just a collection of short stories retelling fairy tales was okay. The following books that follow and have an ongoing narrative structure are pretty ass to be honest. I tried to struggle through them, but I got to a point where the author spent several pages harping on about Ciri going through puberty and just said
>Yeah I don't give a frick
And deleted the pdfs. On God the series is less about Gerolt than it is about Ciri.
You're way too obvious about being Amerifats, goys.
Yeah, no. The Witcher books (at least the first two I read) are actually bad. They are uninteresting, edgy, toodeep4me retellings of classic European fairytales written by a deluded old man. Sorry but that's just how it is.
>retellings of classic European fairytales
you prefer israeli fairytales?
The first book that retells a lot of European fairytales makes them pretty israeli.
I've played it twice already. Always sided with the Elves in all three games, frick humans.
>frick humans
That's the spirit
I dislike games where I can't make a character myself. Especially if they're RPGs.
Are you by any chance a woman (or pretending to be one)?
No. And since you're interested, I'm not even self-inserting. I just enjoy making up different characters and seeing how they would fare in a given game enviroment. Got like 5 of 'em I use on a regular basis, + a couple more niche ones.
It's shit unless you know Polish and play the Polish version.
my excuse is that I didn't like 3 or 2 so no way in hell I'm going to like this janky garbage.
The series got more jankier over time. W3 in particular is complete trash.
I did play it. I bought it on launch. Know what else from this company I bought on launch? It was equally broken as frick. I don't have a high opinion of the Witcher devs.
I played it all the way through many years ago. It is dog shit but the ending is mildly interesting. Both 2 and 3 are much better.
I only played 1 like ten years ago. Want to replay it before finally trying 2 and 3.
Just be sure to max Igni and vaporize everything in one shot so you don't have to use the awful combat system.
SOVL
Every time I feel like it, I remember how much I hate the follow ups and lose interest. Kind of like Mass Effect, really.
On the other hand, Witcher 1 stands better as a wrapped-up story of its own, so maybe I should get around to it some time.
It's not fun. I've read the entire book series in two days because my block's power got fricked up, loved the books, then I played TW3 and loved the game and the DLCs, tried out TW1/TW2 and they were fricking goyslop garbage. You have to be a lobotomite to enjoy this slop. Somehow also had worse performance in TW1 than in TW3 next gen.
TW3 is the definition of goyslop
I played it twice, but I can't bring myself to play second game, I reached the first town for the second time and stopped playing again.
Sile is SEXO though
Already played it
I've played it a fricking tonne of times, I absolutely love it.
But I honestly can't decide which of the Witcher games I like most, I think I love them all equally. I know it's become trendy to hate on 2 in recent years, but I absolutely love 2 and even that's got things it does better than 1 or 3. They're all so different, and so damn good.
After playing the trilogy a few times now (with 2 likely eclipsing 1 and 3 in times played) I can safely say 2 is last. 1 and 3 are harder to rank. 3 has more going on so it probably wins but 1 isn't far behind despite all the drawbacks 1 has.
I've legit tried it three times with no mods and an open mind.
I just can't get over the battle system. If it were braindead like Skyrim, I would consider that better. The "oh you need to PREPARE with buffs, oils, enchantments" wears out very quickly.
I could tell there is a gem underneath that, but I couldn't bring myself to dig for it. I liked how you could frick wenches and get collectable cards from them, that was hilarious and well-designed. Hell, even the art on the cards itself was high quality.
Maybe there's a mod out there now that makes the battle system into oblivion/skyrim, I should probably check sometime. Honestly I'm 36 and have a huge fricking backlog and work full-time so it's hard to give extra time to a game like this: "once you get past xxx it's really fun!" That's cool and all but most of us just don't have the TIME to wade through the nonsense.
tldr; time is valuable and a game needs to respect it, and I just don't like the battle system.
I played it years ago in 2014. it was pretty good from what I remember. SALAMANDRA
Too many naked women and I was filtered by the rhythm combat. I NEED MORE HOMOLUST AND BUTTON MASHING IN MY GAMES
Combat was absolute dogshit.
I'm waiting for the remaster
not in the mood to put up with clunky eurojank
I got filtered by the combat multiple times. I'm waiting for the remake
I already played it twice and will probably play it another time eventually.
I finished it, but didn't enjoy it all that much. I got bored half-way through, set it to Easy, and ploughed through the rest of the game.
Then I loaded up Witcher 2, played the first 10 minutes, and never touched it again.
Nothing about the setting really grabs me. I don't find the concept of witchers interesting, I don't like the alchemy mechanic, I don't like how the magic works, and the combat's not for me.
None of this is me saying I think the games are "objectively bad", just that I don't enjoy them.
Waiting for the remake obviously
