Nice. It really went crazy with the forging mechanics and abilities you can get and it's one big world map now instead of a large linear dungeon like Swordcraft 1 and 2. I think the girls are worse overall though, and unfortunately some items are still tied to FRICKING fishing but the combat and character interactions are still great.

Kamidori Alchemy, released right when the Fire Emblem series was seriously getting worse and I was seriously craving a good tactical.
It somehow featured a story that was still more interesting than the newer FE releases, more interesting characters be it story or gameplay-wise since their promotion system was way less linear than FE with characters having their own unique classes and triggers for said promotions, making the whole thing way less linear than FE's (and most of Shining Force's), had an extra shop management system and so on and had multiple NewGame+ extra, new characters included.
To this day I still have more fond memories of it than FE games even the fricking "toe in urethra" scene.
I'd gladly pay for a sequel from Eushully or, well, almost any of their games if they actually translated them at least in english.
