The one you posted by far. Never liked the legendary gen 2 dogs much, never liked BW's dog trio either. I'm ok with the Regis and I somewhat like the lake trio of DPP. Never cared for trios in general besides the birds. Zapdos is a spiky electric thunderbird and moltres is a literal flaming phoenix. Articuno is pretty though she doesn't give off any obvious signs of it's element type unlike the other two so I don't care for her that much.
I guess I'd add that Cobalion has somewhat grown on me over the years. That's about it

Lake trio representing knowledge, willpower and emotion sounds like cosmic immaterial themes. I like alot of smaller pokemon and their music theme was great too they felt intriguing and mysterious. Even then I said in my last post I only somewhat liked them and Zapdos and Moltres are the only trio designs that have something that visually pop and look badass. Lake trio are sa.ey but I like the lore, theme and music theme. The dog things have nothing to pull me in with, I dislike their faces, nothing in their design pops. Only thing I remember about them is their cool cries they gave them, that's it. Very whatever

Oh, I actually like the galarian trio too. Especially Zapdos since I can imagine him running up mountains at sonic-speed like something from the old roadrunner cartoon. Moltres looks aggressive, Articuno looks like an evil, intelligent owl thing.
I'd add I dislike galarian moltres' purple flame colors though

Now that I think on it I don't think I actually like any of the legendary trios. I appreciate the OG birds for nostalgia but the designs are really not that good. I think I probably like the dogs the most, they only just dip their toe into the overdesigned schizoid mish-mash of shapes territory that plagues legendary pokemon but they still come together fairly well.
Lake guardians are forgettable and same-y. Regis I don't hate but they look a bit silly. Genies are some of the worst dogshit they've ever come up with. Goat dogs I didn't like at the time but they've grown on me. Are there any more? Can't remember them so they can't have been anything to write home about.

The Regi. Their designs really solid what they were supposed to be, these ancient mysterious golems with dots on them. The way you got them was also really good. After 2 gens with the elemental birds and beasts it was interesting to see something different.
