Here's my favorite of the past few years, specifically games that came out that year >2024: Unicorn Overlord (so far) >2023: Octopath Traveler 2 >2022: Xenoblade 3 >2021: Ys IX >2020: Don't actually remember >2019: Tales of Vesperia DE
You crazy m8. V had some of the best balance I've ever seen in an RPG, all builds and moveset types are viable, the game very accurately tracks your development and always feels threatening. Shiva might be my favorite boss in any turn based game, love me full party boss fights (which V is incidentally very good with)
Had fun with Xenoblade 3. The dlc was also great. Octopath 2 was also way better than 1 and I didn't feel like killing myself when reaching the final boss.
SMT V
Fpbp
Can't wait for Vengeance
Vengeance looks incredible. It's definitely the biggest super version Atlus ever made.
Every single one here is fricking terrible
Black Souls 2
13S by a mile but it's not a JRPG, not sure why it's here

Octopath
Very kino list
Chinese JRPG
How the frick is Live a Live, Chrono Cross, or .hack modern?
I enjoyed Octopath 2, Triangle Strategy, and Live A Live very much.
saga emerald beyond is like the only good one that came out for the past 4 years
Xeno 3 and 13 senitnals are in my 3x3. Really loved those games.
So far I am really enjoying Y8 Infinite Wealth
>lost judgment
>rpg
Black person what
thats a lot of shite
DQ Ireburn.
Is it bad that I've never played any of those games? Is the Switch the comfiest way to play those? Where should I start?
Emulate Xenoblade 3 for the 4k. The rest can be played on Switch
I don't really have a good PC, so I'd probably be better off playing it on the Switch. Is Xenoblade 3 a sequel or a standalone story?
It's a sequel. You can play it as a stand alone story but it's meant to be the bookend of all the Xeno games up to that point
Thanks. I might actually give the first one a try. It looks interesting.
Sequel. But you can play it without playing the previous games. Though don't play the DLC until you learn about 1 and 2.
You should absolutely play 13 sentinels, it has one hell of a story
>Calling PS2 games modern
What did you do the last 20 years?
SaGa Scarlet Grace
Souzinengi V
XBC2. It had an amazing story, the OST was wonderful, and the settings were gorgeous. I also loved YSVIII and the Trials of Mana remaster.
Star Ocean 6 and Xenoblade 3. I tried to get into Octopath 2, but it reminded me way too much of how yugioh is and I couldn't enjoy the combat.
EO V
Chrono Trigger
Smt v was poorly balanced , open world was shit, a shitty cast compared to IV, a bad story and mass effects tier endings
Truly soulless
>open world was shit
SMT V was not open world

the first bravely default, it was going in the correct direction but then they ruined everything in the sequels
Had fun with Xenoblade 3. The dlc was also great. Octopath 2 was also way better than 1 and I didn't feel like killing myself when reaching the final boss.
7 Rebirth by a fricking mile
You mean J"RPG"s which are non-RPGs? None.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2/3 for sure, Ys VIII and Dragon Quest XI also very good.
From these, it is not even a fair comparison, Xenoblade 3, easily.
