It's definitive proof that RE7 was a fluke
Needed more bugfus.
These three would be much cuter if they had fangs like real vampires
Imagine the fourway kiss
>Redhead is the ugliest one
Cardinal sin.
Forgettable
I have no strong opinion on it.
I love it, its like 4 games in one. Plan to replay it when im done with remake 4
It's slightly worse than cod in terms of gameplay and has a shit story
9/10
To this day, and despite seeing people talk about it all the time when it was released, I still have no idea what the gameplay is like.
That's usually all I need to know.
>survival horror... but in first person
It's not that hard
RE4 but first person
It's a mix of re4 and re7
The frick do you want, Ethan roundhouse kick webms? Gameplay is great in this game, it Harkins very well back to re1-3 runs especially after your first. Great speed game. Very eeplayable even though vee says the opposite since it let's you simply play.
>Let's you simply play
>Entire chapter devoid of any gameplay at all
Ethan is a black hole of charisma and didn't need 2 games to tell his arc. The overall setting is worse, the characters are worse, the bosses are worse, and the general enemies are worse. It's still a decent game, but 7 was better in literally every way
I thought it was pretty fun for one playthrough. The last sections of the game did drag a bit though.
It's great. It's both overrated and underrated.
tried to do too many things at once. Should have centered around the castle with mommy and her three hot blonde chicks with magneto nick cage thrown in a dessert
fish man and poor mans alien isolation in the mansion were the weakest parts
never played a resident evil game but I want to play this one because of the hot vampire bawds
Not to spoil anything for you, but if that is your only reason for wanting to play the game, you should know that they are literally only in the game for the first 1/4 or so
They also discuss what they actually are, and it's not what you think, anon. Might ruin the image for you.
spoil it for me , what are they ?
You know those witches that can turn into a cloud of bats and fly around and reform into human? They're like that except with bugs.
They are each a swarm of mutated botflies. Botflies are they flies that come from carrion There's a whole file on it, and it's gross.
Mishmash of different ideas. Capcom didn't know what they were doing with this title. Still a good game but very disappointing and only saved by the technical genius of the Capcom team.
Pretty much this. All of the old stuff that they imported from RE7 is still as good as it was then, and all of the new stuff kinda sucks
Kinda irrelevant criticism, but I really dislike that the idea of save rooms has kinda gone out the window in the newer RE games. RE7 had a few great ones, but I was expecting more from RE8.
There's really only one dedicated safe room right in the beginning with the merchant and that's it.
I love the RE games because of their atmosphere and that is a huge part of it. RE8 kinda fell short of RE7 in that regard.

Personally, I don't like this migration toward gritty and oppressive atmosphere, versus the classic horror movie atmosphere.
Do you think that the story also contributes to the atmosphere or do you just mean like the visual style/soundtrack?
I definitely think that they toned down the campiness of the setpieces which lend it to come off alot darker than they previously did.
I mean I can't imagine RE9 having sharks or Jill sandwiches like the original did.
I mean room music, mainly. I mean, I realize it's difficult to do that when you don't have door loading to differentiate rooms, but you could give certain buildings their own music, and I mean actual music, not just ambient ghosts of sound.
I don't know if that is campiness or not, probably is, but it doesn't feel the same. Like it's a different genre now, more along the lines of Condemned than Alone in the Dark. Maybe that's inevitable, like the games have "grown up" alongside the kids who played them. A lot of Village was forgettable. Case in point, this thread. Literally everyone remembers Lady Dimetrescu, and almost nothing else. She was an old school character, sweeping, grandiose, dominates every scene she's in. Actually, her daughters are good characters too. Clearly immature, very much a "Dracula's Brides" vibe from all three of them.
As far as story, the only way the story could contribute instead of just growing new tentacles to try and expand itself like it has been, is if they do this
. It would give them a chance to re-examine every questionable story element and weird character choice he's ever made. You could do a ton with Code:Veronica alone from that angle.
I think I understand your point.
>A lot of Village was forgettable.
Agreed. Honestly now that you mention it, outside of THAT fetus scene and the DLC with the weeping angels, I can't seem to recall much of it.
And yeah, there's plenty they could do with the characters on hand. I'm secretly hoping that Revelations 3 is also in the works because the entire plot of Weskers sister was very entertaining.
Re8 was revelations 3 that got big budgeted and changed to 8, so if you don't like the ideas in 8, idk why you think you'd want a new revelations
Not great. If Capcom was smart, they would make Chris one of the Wesker kids. Frankly, it would make a lot more of the series make sense. I mean, they even foreshadowed it, twice. Chris literally has two faces on the box art for the original and Village.
so the homoerotic tension between wesker jr and chris also becomes wincest at the same time? Good taste
It was a solid 7/10 game
Ethan memes were funny as frick here on Ganker
Still sitting in my backlog.
I didn't buy it because I heard it was about werewolves. Werewolves are stupid.
Hot vampire mom who's breasts I want to suck dry. Otherwise, a pretty fun game.
They tried to cram too much into the game, would have worked better spread out among multiple titles
Fighting her and the other daughters gave me a boner.
I somehow put like 100 hours into FPS not-re4. I really liked it. The Ethan is Le mold twist was honestly very well done and put a lot of needed contexuslization into 7 and 8 which makes both games even better. Dlc is horrible. Rose is trash. And it went way too batshit with monster lore which worries me for the future but in re8 I liked it a lot
Fps re is my least favorite re
I like it. I love 6 too. I think the only mainlineish re game I didn't enjoy was zero, I never touched outbreak but have played everything else.
Fun ride, but somewhat wasted potential
They clearly struck gold with Lady D but didn't realize what they had when they killed her off after like 90 minutes and didn't bring her back for the DLC. It feels more like a haunted house ride than it does a proper RE game, seems like they were just kind of throwing shit at the wall
hottest girls in the series
Loved it, because it's the good kind of wierd
sex with Chris
village would be goat if it was expanded, you spend more time in each area collecting things needed to progress in other areas, shotguns actually had acceptable fire rates, and the village was bigger and more explorable.
