SF2 Rainbow Edition, something made for fun that got Capcom completely bootyblasted

        >something made for fun
It was made for profit, don't kid yourself.

I meant all the bullshit parts added to it, not the fact that it's a bootleg

It gave birth to grassroot competitive fighters

Yeah but they became obsessed with antipiracy measures ever since, which is why the CPS3 has that regarded form of copyright detection on it.

Taiwan has a lot of genuinely interesting RPGs I'll probably never fully know

most of my experience with korean games is usually the typical CS clone or MMO. they're okay but the don't really keep my attention.

ironically pretty much most (if not all) of the problems people have with micro-transactions nowadays can be traced back to the asian markets like korea.

    I really like Darkside Story
It's a lot like the River City/Kunio games except with a cute female protagonist

They made some surprisingly good DOS games, if kinda "late to the party"

    also there's this

Lots of freeware doujin games that are decent or at least interesting in their failure. Never played any large studio games.

I pretty much can't think of any non-MMOs. Korean games are always grindy as frick pay to win MMOs

There were some 90s Korean RTS games that were released in Europe, but not in NA.

One such game is Atrox, a straight StarCraft clone, pretty interesting.

I also used to play a lot of Panic Soldier, it's a janky mech RTS game, you win money from missions with which you buy better mechs, guns and hire mercenaries. And like in Jagged Alliance the higher level mercenaries are more expensive.
