How do you know Tauros and Clodsire specifically are divergent evolutions? You have no proof, they could just as easily be convergent as well.

Anon, that would still mean they split and share a common ancestor. COnvergents are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ANIMALS that converged on certain body plans, like sharks and dolphins, or bats and birds.
Love it. I like that it's not just dex filler mons, and introduces pokemon as true species that diverge and adapt to their environments.

I like Toedscool and Toedscruel. The Violet paradoxes with the "what if Pokemon but a robot" is a little too stupid though. Getting pre-historic looking mons is cool though.

I vote for no gimmick because all of them are shit and we will never get one that isn't shit.
I prefer Megas and regional variants because at least they admit that they’re a slightly modified design. Modifying an existing design and calling it a new Pokemon feels like they were padding the dex and the only benefit I see of convergents is that can be used in other regions (even if I feel like they can easily just put regional variants in other regions, like they’re invasive species and are called x form because they originated from x region)
